2. Discussion on the second year activities ( Main purpose of our meeting)Activities 4: Seminars and workshops for all stakeholders

SEMINARS with students on effective study methods. We suggest planning 3-5 lessons (one by each 2-3 countries on the topics like: learning styles, eSafety, leadership, team work, taking notes, effective reading, food, ask for help, motivation, etc.) and publishing them in a book. We will decide together on 3/5 common topics.

Page 2: 1Suggestions OTM

Each country should teach the same lessons and have students’ feedback/very short 2-3 questions. Suggestion: the teachers follow the same plan model: http://www.webwewant.eu/documents/10180/56127/lesson_plan1-1.pdf/ddb2eadb-a8d2-4f95-b6e9-937b88ace966

(the whole book is part of the project “The Web We Want” (http://www.webwewant.eu/lessons-plans)

Activities 5: European Parliament (Before Portugal meeting what should we do in our country)

Activities 6: After School activities with family Activities 9: Preparing Final WorksActivities 10: Dissemination Activities

3. Talk about the Learning/Teaching/Training Activities Our next Learning/Teaching/Training activity is European Parliament . We will have met in Portugal for this activity, Before this meeting, thoroughly we should talk about this activities. We can discuss on this item what should we do for this activity. It is good chance to discuss face to face.

SUGESTIONS ITALY:

The idea of European parliament is to make students act as a real member of parliament: in each country students will have a workshop and get informed about how to make a law in their own country and about what is European Parliament.

After learning about this important topics related to citizenship (both national and European) they will discuss what they think could make school better and more motivating and so they suggest a first draw of a law (a BILL) in favour of students

After that their delegates (students who are going to the transnational meeting in Portugal) will present the Bill to the EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT made up of all the students participating in the students' exchange in Portugal.

The bills proposed by each country will be voted, approved and signed. The LAW will be published in the project website and in the Twin-Space.

SUGGESTIONS BULGARIA

Day 1 Energizer - names and adjectives Names and adjectives:Participants think of an adjective to describe how they are feeling or how they are.The adjective must start with the same letter as their name, for instance, “I’m Henri and I’m happy”. Or, “I’m Arun and I’m amazing.”As they say this, they can also mime an action that describes the adjective. European Educational institutions presentation (by organizers)

Presentations - Educational system in my country (5 minutes) Country, area, school organization, levels, number of students in class. Collage /presentation made at home and presented to the others

Now to become a good public speaker? (a YouTube video will be used from the film “Pay it forward”). Basic steps. DISCUSSION: Why being a good public speaker is important in our everyday lives? How to be organized – ideas needed.

Day 2

What is student parliament? Rules for the next days! Teams of 3 students (from the same country). First-they need to present

two problems from school which lead to students’ dropout. Then, they offer a solution/s to these two problems. They will have up to 3 minutes to present. The students and teachers from the other countries must listen very carefully and take notes. After all presentations, every country’s team will have to write on a big sheet if they have the same problem and offer their solution/ the same or different as the presenter country. There will be 10 big sheets – one for each country.

The red information should be written on a big sheet/cardboard. Example:

Problem BG-solution/difficulties

PT CY GR IT LA LI NO TR UK

Boring lessons

Teachers should be qualified

Less students in class

Extracurricular activities

Schools financed by the number of students

Decision by the ministry of education to have less students in class

At the end of the day students from all countries will have filled in the information in all the posters (10 big sheets altogether)

The 10 posters should be copied 3 times each and given to students on the next day.

Day 3

Students will work in 3 big groups of 10+ – one student from each country in a group + a few Portuguese (they may be divided into 2/3/4 smaller groups if they want to) + 2/3 teachers with each group.

They have to analyze the problems and solutions in all the countries and write an appeal to educational institutions in their countries/European Commission.

The text will be checked by the teachers

The petition will be signed by students and teachers in each group. Students will record their video petition called “PROBLEMS OF DROPPING OUT AND SOLUTIONS

TO PREVENT IT”. It will be disseminated. They can think of their group name and present problems and solutions as an international group. They can add more problems and solutions (maximum 5 in number). The videos should be uploaded into Youtube at the end of the meeting and we need sources, too.

Later ALL students will vote online for one of the videos in Facebook. At home we can add subtitles in English and our national language and disseminate it ICT people

can help here. Students can make something of this kind:

(Every time I watch this video I almost cry, I hope You’ll like it)
