(Jack Shepherd Centric)

Previously on LOST:

1) Clip of Oceanic Flight 815 breaking up in mid air.2) Sayid, Locke, Boone, Sun, Jin and the random survivors

heading out too look for food.3) Claire gasping and falling to the ground.4) Locke telling his group that someone is coming for them.

5) The thick black smoke rising into the skyline.6) Luke contacting the man on the radio.

Exterior. Beach. Day.

The camera opens up on Jacks face as he wakes up from anap. Jack stands up and looks across the beach. The camera

follows him and we see a previously unseen man standing nearthe water. The camera pans back to show Jacks face full of

confusion. Jack begins to walk down the beach towards theman when he trips on a rock on the beach and falls over. Helooks up towards the man and the camera follows him once

again. The man has gone. The camera focuses on Jacks faceagain as the flashback sound is heard...

Flashback. Interior. St Sebastians Hospital. LA. Day.

The camera focuses on a man dressed in bright blue scrubs ashe walks down a corridor. The camera pans up and the man isrevealed to be Jack. Jack walks down the corridor and enters aroom. The camera follows Jack into the room and we see himstood at the foot of a bed. Jack moves to the side to pick up achart on the table and we see a woman lying down in the bed.

Jack flicks through the chart before saying:

Jack:Miss Janssen I-

The woman cuts Jack off before he is about to continue.

Miss Janssen:Its Mrs actually doctor. But call me Diane.

Jack:Apologies. Diane, we have the results back from your test. Itseems you have a rather large tumour on your spine. It is

completely operational so you have nothing to worry about.

Diane:Oh. Umm... when do I have to be operated on?

Jack:

As soon as possible. If we leave it too late the tumour willbecome worse.

Diane:Oh, ok then.

Jack:I need to know if you have any children, Mrs Janssen. This type

of tumour that you have can be passed down.

Diane:Yes, I have a daughter.

Jack:Well we will have to contact her, get her in for some tests. Just

to make sure everything is ok with her.

Diane:Alright then, Ill give you her number. Do you have a pen and a

piece of paper?

Jack gets a piece of paper as the flashback sound begins...


Kate comes running over towards Jack as he pulls himself to hisfeet.

Kate:

Jack, are you ok?

Jack:Yeah, yeah... Im fine I just- I saw something.

Kate:Oh?

Jack:Yeah... I saw my father.

Smash to black.

-LOST-Commercial Break

LOSTFlashback. Interior. St Sebastians Hospital. Jacks Office. LA.

Day.

The camera opens up to Jack sat down at his desk looking at apiece of paper. He picks up the phone and dials in a number.

After a moment, a womans voice is heard on the line.

Woman:Hello?

Jack:

Hello, is this Katherine Janssen?

Katherine:Yeah, yeah it is.

Jack:Im Doctor Jack Shepherd from St. Sebastians Hospital.

Katherine:

Oh, is this about my mother? Is she ok?

Jack:Youre mother has a tumour on her lower spine; we are going to

operate on her tomorrow. I am very confident that she will beok. I am calling because we need you to come in so we can do

a few little tests on you. The type of tumour that your motherhas is genetic, it is passed down through children. We just need

to make sure you are ok.

Katherine:Umm... ok. When should I come in?

The flashback sound is heard as the camera cuts to:

Exterior. Jungle. Day.

The camera focuses on Lockes face as we hear rustling againcoming from the trees.

Sun:I dont think we should be waiting around for this. I think we

need to go, run.

Sayid:Yeah, I think we should too. Cmon.

Sun:(Subtitled) Jin, come on, we need to run.

The group begin to run from the trees as the rustling gets evenlouder. The camera cuts to:


Jack and Kate are now sat down beside a campfire. Kate isholding a wet cloth to Jacks face as we realise he is bleeding.

Kate:Youre father Jack? Was he on the plane too?

Jack:No, he wasnt. He was-

We hear a scream and Jack jumps to his feet. He runs to thesource of the shouting as Kate follows him.

Charlie:

Jack! Jack, its Claire.

Jack:Whats wrong with her?

Charlie:I dont know, its the same as last time.

Jack:

Where is she?

Charlie runs up the beach towards Claire who is lying down onher makeshift bed. She is clutching onto her stomach. Jack

follows Charlie and bends down to check on her.

Jack:Claire, youre going to be ok.

Claire:My baby... I think its coming!

The camera pans to Jacks face which is pure terror as thecamera fades to black.

Commercial Break

Exterior. Jungle. Day.

The camera follows as Sayids group runs through the jungle.Locke is in the lead and he runs around the corner. The rest of

the group catch up with him as the follow him around thecorner and they all bump into each other. Locke has stoppedright in their path, staring ahead. The rest of the group pull

themselves together and look ahead. The camera follows theirgaze around and we see what they were looking at. A hugecave is in front of them, shrouded in darkness. The camera

pans back to Locke as he takes a step forward.

Locke:Oh, my God!

Sayid:

Can you hear that? It sounds like water.

Sayid leads the group into the cave and we see a smallwaterfall with a splash pool at the bottom of it.

Locke:I think we should fill up some bottles... people will be getting

thirsty.

Boone:What about the whispering? The rustling? The thing we wererunning from?

Sayid:Havent you noticed? Its stopped. No more whispering, no more

rustling. I think theyve gone.

Boone:

I dunno... I think we should have someone stand watch.

Sayid:Well if youre offering?

Without waiting for a reply Sayid walks into the cave, leavingBoone standing outside. Boone leans against the caves wall

with his arms folded and sighs. The camera cuts to:


We see that Jack, Kate, Charlie, Luke, Hurley and Libby arecrowded around Claire.

Jack:Claire, are you sure? You sure the babies not just kicking?

Claire:How am I supposed to know?! Ive never given birth before!!

Jack:Claire I need you to listen to me. How far along are you?

Claire:

I dunno. About 7 and a half months.

Jack:Can someone get some water please?

Libby rushes off to get some water for Claire as the cameracuts back to Jacks face. The flashback sound begins...

Flashback. Interior. St Sebastians Hospital. LA. Day.

We see Jack stood outside of a room as he knocks on the door.A moment later a mans voice is heard.

Man:Yeah, come in.

Jack opens the door and walks into the room. We see a man satbehind a desk with a plaque saying Doctor Albert Tavern

Doctor Tavern:Sit, Jack.

Jack sits down in front of the desk.

Jack:I was just wondering if we had had Miss Janssen come in yet?

Doctor Tavern:Yeah, she came in earlier. I preformed the tests myself.

Jack:Yeah, sorry about that. I was out to dinner with my father. How

was she?

Doctor Tavern:She was fine. No trace at all.

Jack:

Oh right. Thats good. Well Im taking her mother in tonight forsurgery so Id best go and get ready.

Jack stands up and walks out of the office as the camera cuts to

black.

Commercial Break

Exterior. Caves. Day.

We see Sayid and Locke looking around the back of the cave asSun and Jin fill empty bottles with water. The random survivors

are sat with Sun and Jin helping them. The camera cuts to

Sayid looking around the cave.

Sayid:Hey, John, come look at this.

The camera cuts to Locke as he walks over to Sayid, pointing atsomething. Locke looks at Sayids face first which is full of

confusion. He then looks at what Sayid is pointing at and thecamera follows his gaze. We see two corpses lying in the

bottom of the cave.

Locke:What- who-

The camera pans back to show Locke and Sayids faces as thecamera cuts to:


Claire is seen sipping on a bottle of water as the crowd aroundher disperses. Charlie, Jack and Kate remain near her.

Jack:Are you ok now Claire?

Claire:I dunno. The pains seem to have stopped.

The camera pans back to Jacks face as the flashback sound isheard...

Exterior. Jacks Apartment. LA. Day.

Jack is seen sat in a chair beside a roaring fire as he looksthrough some notes. He has a glass of whiskey on a tablebeside him which is full. Jack continues to read through hisnotes as a phone rings. Jack takes a cell phone out of his

pocket and answers it.

Jack:Hello?

Man:Hello, is this Mr, Jack Shepherd?

Jack:Yeah, it is.

Man:Its your father. We found his body in Australia. Hes dead...

The camera pans to Jacks face as he grabs the whiskey glassand downs it all. The flashback sound begins...


The camera is still on Jacks face which pans down to Claire asshe screams out again.

Claire:Jack!

Jack rushes back to Claire and bends down to her.

Claire:I think its coming. The baby...

Jack:Oh, God!

Jack rushes off and grabs some towels as someone shouts hisname.

Kate:

Jack! Look!

Jack turns to look at what Kate is looking at. The rest of thesurvivors minus Claire and Charlie gather on the beach as theystare out at the ocean, thunderstruck. The camera pans round

and we see it. A helicopter flying towards the beach...

LOSTNext Time:

VO: As rescue arrives

1) Clip of the helicopter coming into land.

VO: The traitor leaves.
