When Are the 1xEV-DO Rev A Parameters Negotiated/Obtained?
During day-to-day activities of an AT in a 1xEV-DO Rev A system
1xEV-DO Rev A system can optimally page the AT for incoming traffic. Every AT must first acquire a 1xEV-DO Rev A system.
AcquireSystemAfter system acquisition, everyAT must negotiate a session with

The criteria to maintain the data call:
Maximize throughout for BE applications
Minimize latency and jitter for VoIP
Optimize handoff delays for all applications

Air link QoS Flows with certain characteristics
Auxiliary A10 Flows between PCF and PDSN
Initial AT Power up with no UATI assigned to the AT.

Non-Default protocols, applications, parameters and values are negotiated. Multiple Personalities may be negotiated.

Initial AT Power up with no UATI assigned to the AT.
Non-Default protocols, applications, parameters and values are negotiated. Multiple Personalities may be negotiated. A12 authentication is successful.
AT Ready to Exchange Data on Service Stream. Power up or explicit VoIP Registration is invoked.
After air link Connection, PPP and Main A10 instance are negotiated. AT is ready to negotiate Radio QoS, set up TFTs and negotiate ROHC.
After the successful QoS negotiation for both SIP signaling and RTP media Flow parameters, AT is now ready to turn ON Reservation for SIP signaling Flow to send SIP Registration.
