Founded by Laiq Qureshi, Rhythm Method's sound breeds new-age collaborative ideas. Having worked with a number of artists, Rhythm Method shapes a lot of it's ideas around Drumstep / Breakbeat / World sounds, while heavily investing into rural folk and classical music. It's new album 'Cosmic Creation' (in making) features collaborations by Classical greats like Ustad Sultan Khan and Mahesh Vinayakram, as well as world and jazz musicians like Yoann Freget (France), Kamila Nasr (Canada), Andrea Presa (Italy), Mr. Woodnote (UK) and more.

With an impressive music career spanning a decade, this 20-year-old classical and Jazz pianist has successfully created the pure sounds of Indian Ragas on the Piano and won international acclaim for his performances at top venues & festivals. Lal has captured the imagination of worldwide audiences as his fingers breathe voice and soul into the piano and he delights veering between delicately decorative and dazzling moments of improvisation. Utsav Lal’s unfailing clarity of technique and innovative handling of a raga with simplicity, sincerity & depth have earned him the unique title of ‘Raga Pianist.’ Accompanied on Tabla by Pt Kali Nath Sharma

Talvin Singh & Friends Asiatic Steps 7:30 PM / 2 hour performance

Talvin Singh Matharoo is a producer and composer and tabla player, known for creating an innovative fusion of Indian classical music and drum and bass. Singh is generally considered involved with an electronica sub genre called Asian Underground, and more recently as Indian and/or Asian electronica. Talvin is curating a two hour set on 9th night at KGAF and will invite guest artists to collaborate and add to the night.

Starting off from Delhi, all of 5 as child prodigy touring the world with Little Stars of Kalyanji Anandji eventually making a mark in the Bollywood Playback scene with chart busters like Johnny Gaddar, Marjaani, Dil Khol Ke let's rock, Khuda Ya Khair, Abhi Abhi from Jism 2 and many more. Alongside pursuing her original independent music space with her self titled album having bagged the GIMA for best non film album.. Akriti Kakar is currently one of the youngest, brightest and most diverse voices of the country be it movies or live performances.

Salim Suleiman Asiatic Steps 7:30 PM / 2 hour set

Salim and Sulaiman have been composing music for over a decade having scored for movies such as Neal 'n' Nikki, Chak De! India, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Fashion. The duo had also composed for many Indi-pop performers including Viva, Aasmaan, Shweta Shetty, Jasmine and Style Bhai among others, composed and produced several TV commercials and collaborated with artistes such as Ustad Zakir Hussain and Ustad Sultan Khan.

Puppet characters include Dholkiwala (Drum Beater), Saamp-Sapera Gendh Wali (Round Ball), Bahurupia (Imitator), Pattebaz (Card player), Anarkali (Dancer) and Jadugar (Magician) etc.AMAR SINGH RATHORE is the most popular dance drama amongst the traditional puppeteers.

as an important art and cultural centre, thronged by visitors and tourists from across the globe.

gallery space, mass outdoor pavement galleries and exhibition spaces within the covered arcades, making the area a

in Mumbai University, Elphinstone College and other institutions, gives the precinct a unique place in the world of art

and culture.

With the funds from The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival and support from generous sponsors, The Kala Ghoda Association

has helped physically improve the area, restoring buildings and facades, installing people-friendly street furniture

and improving the amenities.
