AlHuda CIBE AlHuda Center of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE) is a well established name in Islamic Banking and Finance with state-of-the-ar t advisory, consultancy, capacity building, and research and product development services. AlHuda CIBE has organized hundreds of international training workshops/conferences on Islamic Banking and Finance in order to build the capacity of Islamic finance professionals around the globe. As there is tremendous potential for Islamic finance in the United States of America (USA), AlHuda CIBE plans to organize a Two Day Specialized Training Workshop on Islamic Banking and Finance in conjunction with FAAIF.

FAAIFThe Franco – American Alliance of Islamic Finance (FAAIF) is a legal and management consultancy firm with the aim of assisting institutional clients develop Islamic windows including Shariah compliance, segregation of funds, accounting standards, and constructs comprehensive and fully functional Islamic finance departments in law firms. The FAAIF team also provides training and consultation regarding all aspects of ethical and Islamic finance to the wider professional arena.

About the Training:AlHuda CIBE and FAAIF, realizing the immense need of training on Islamic Banking and Finance in New Orleans and the USA, plan to organize a Two Days Training Workshop on Islamic Banking and Finance in conjunction with the University of New Orleans in order to address the needs of the American banking, legal, and professional community and help the USA remain competitive in international financial markets. SPEAKERS Mr. M. Kabir Hassan, Head of the Finance Department at University of New Orleans,New Orleans, USA.

M. Kabir Hassan is Professor of Finance and Hibernia Professor of Economics and Finance in the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of New Orleans. Dr. Hassan received his BA in Economics and Mathematics

from Gustavus Adolphus College, Minnesota, USA, and an M.A. in Economics and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA respectively. Dr. Hassan is a financial economist with consulting, research, and teaching experience in development finance, money and capital markets, Islamic finance, corporate finance, investments, monetary economics, macroeconomics, and international trade and finance. Dr. Hassan has supervised 34 doctoral theses and many of his students are now well placed in academia, government, and the private sector. He is the editor of The Global Journal of Finance and Economics and the Journal of Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, and co-editor of the Journal of Economic Cooperation and Development. Dr. Hassan is the co-editor (with M.K. Lewis) of Handbook of Islamic Banking and Islamic Finance, The International Library of Critical Writings in Economics (Edward Elgar, 2007), and co-editor (with Michael Mahlknecht) of Islamic Capital Market: Products and Strategies (John Wiley and Sons, 2011). In addition, he is the co-author of Islamic Entrepreneurship (Routledge UK, 2010). Dr. Hassan has also written the first textbook (co-authored with Dr Kayed and Dr. Oseni) on Islamic Finance published by Pearson in 2013.
