ARABEL LAND
Today there are only three (3) areas that have healthy arable land (10-13% humus in the soil)
1. Strip of land near the Baltic Sea (black soil)
2. Northern Plains of the United States
3. San Joaquin Valley (Central California)
3
SOIL
• Natural healthy soil has 10-13% humus
• Sustain life we need at least 3%
• Commercial soil has 1% or less
4
LOSS OF SOIL
We lost 2 inches of topsoil in Kansas cropland during the winter of 95-96. This
is equivalent to 263 tons of topsoil per acre. To give you perspective this is six
(6) semi-truck loads per acre.
We’ve lost 9 million acres across the United States just in the last two (2) years.
