Peacekeeping Missions ( UN SAT 2012-2013)
Sir, This Ministry propose to organize UN SAT Test tentatively during the month of June’2012 for preparing a panel of officers to be nominated for selection for deployment with various UN Peacekeeping Missions in Sudan, East Timore, Cyprus Liberia, Haiti etc. against the rotational vacancies to be reported during 2012-2013. 2. The officers whose names are received through proper channel will be further short listed depending upon the eligibility criteria ( indicated in subsequent paras) so that a panel of officers proportionate the number of anticipated vacancies is prepared. These short listed officers will then be called to undergo one week training in English, left hand driving and shooting skill and subsequently to appear before the UN Selection Assistance Team for the UN SAT Test. The nominated candidate should bring UN P-11 personal history form duly filled and Bio data form in soft/hard copies as per the specimen attached. 3. In P-11 form, the scanned present photograph of the applicant in Uniform and signatures should be pasted at the relevant places. P-11 without photographs and signatures will not be entertained. Candidates to ensure that, their name(s) mentioned in the P-11 form and bio-data are as per the school leaving certificate and the identity card issued by the department. Candidate must obtain a certificate from the department “that the names and others particulars mentioned in the P-11 form are correct as per the record” and the same should be attached with the P-11 form along with an attested photocopy of identity card issued by the department in the present rank. 4. In order to facilitate, the selection of candidates with right skill by United Nations Department of Peace Keeping Operations, it is requested that, the candidate must be advised to fill-up their field of specialization and proficiency in foreign language distinctly in the bio-data.

5. The UN Police Skill Set required for deployment with various UN Peace Keeping Missions is as under:-

19. Police trainers 20. Project Coordinators. 6. Based on the result of the UN SAT a panel of officers will be prepared. Passing of UN SAT test is the minimum requirement for deployment with UN Mission. Merely passing of the UN SAT is no guarantee for selection for deployment. It will be our endeavor to deploy the officers in the order of their position in merit list prepared on the basis of UN SAT test. However, UN does not consider the merit position as the sole criteria for selection for deployment. Validity of UN SAT test is for 18 months only. 7. The selected officers will get subsistence allowance from UN while on such deployment. They will be entitled to draw their salary and other allowances from the same organization from where they were drawing before such deployment. They may also be allowed to retain Government accommodation, telephone etc, if any, during the tenure of such deployment. 8. The State government/UTAs/CPOs are requested to nominate not more than 5 police officers latest by 15th May 2012 from the rank of Head Constable, to SP/Commandant level proportionate in number fulfilling the following eligibility conditions
a) The candidate should be Graduate b) Possesses four wheeler valid driving license c) Must have completed 08 years of actual police experience including
training period as on 20.04.2012 (the date proposed for issue of circular for calling fresh nomination )
d) Above 25 years of age on 20.04.2012 e) Must have good command over English Language (Spoken &Written).

f) IPS officer should be of 2002-2005 batch (IPS officers should not be
debarred from Central Deputation, Foreign training) g) Nominated officers should be clear from Cadre /Vigilance angle. The
Officers against whom disciplinary/vigilance cases are pending, not be nominated.
h) The officers having previous UN experience must have completed a cooling off period of three years as on the date of issue of circular starting from the date of repatriation/end of previous UN Mission
i) Female police personnel are given preference. j) Officers proceeding on retirement/superannuation within a period of
three years from the date of issue of circular may not be nominated.
9. The State Government/UTAs/CPOs are further requested that the officers who had passed the UN SAT 2010-11 test held from 13th to 17th December 2010 but could not be deployed so far may again be nominated to re-appear for UN SAT test 2012-2013(as per the list attached), in addition to their regular nomination. It may here be intimated that the validity of the UN SAT held in December’ 2010 is likely to be extended up to December 2012. Therefore, in case, by the time of UN SAT 2012 or thereafter up to December’2012 these officers are deployed with different Missions, their names will be removed from the panel of UN SAT 2012. 10. It will be the responsibility of the sponsoring organization to ensure that the nominated officers fulfill the eligibility conditions. Failure to meet the above guidelines may result in the cancellation of the candidature and even repatriation of the officer at his own cost. Nomination received after due date will not be entertained. No direct application will be entertained.
