(Vehicle Information): Use thisbutton to display the oil life, displayunits, tire pressure and tire pressuresystem programming (if equipped),compass zone and calibration(if equipped) and Remote KeylessEntry programming.

(Customization): Use this button tocustomize certain vehicle features toyour preference.

(Set/Reset): Use this button to set or reset trip/fuel and vehicle informationas well as acknowledge DIC messages.Vehicle Customization SettingsTo customize features:1. Press the (Customization) button

Driver Information Center

Your vehicle’s Driver Information Center(DIC) provides vehicle information, vehi-cle warning messages and vehicle fea-ture customization. The DIC messageswill be shown on your instrument panelcluster display. The DIC display alsoshows the outside air temperature andcompass direction (if equipped).

To operate the DIC, the ignition switchmust be on. The DIC is controlledthrough the following four buttons locat-ed on the right side of the instrumentpanel cluster:

(Trip/Fuel): Use this button to dis-play the odometer, trip odometers, fuelrange, average economy, instantaneouseconomy, Active Fuel Management™

indicator (if equipped) and averagespeed.

Warnings and MessagesThe DIC provides a variety of vehiclemessages, as well as warnings if aproblem is sensed in a vehicle system. To acknowledge a message and clear itfrom the display, press any of the DICbuttons. Some urgent messages cannotbe cleared from the DIC display. If you have a current OnStar subscrip-tion and your Check Engine light or anyother warning message appears, pressthe OnStar button to speak to an OnStarAdvisor. In many vehicles, OnStarAdvisors can access certain diagnosticinformation and can tell you how seriousthe problem is and what you should doabout it.

Setting the CompassTo adjust for compass variance whentraveling on a long-distance trip or tocalibrate the compass, follow the proce-dures in the DIC section of your OwnerManual.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

SAFETY & SECURITY

The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) trans-mitter includes the following functions:

(Remote Start) (if equipped): Thisfeature can be used to start the enginefrom outside the vehicle. (See RemoteVehicle Start.)

(Lock): Press this button to lock allthe doors. If enabled through the DIC,the parking lamps will flash once and/orthe horn will chirp to indicate locking hasoccurred.

(Unlock): Press this button to unlockthe driver’s door. Press it again withinfive seconds and all remaining doors willunlock. If enabled through the DIC, theparking lamps will flash once to indicateunlocking has occurred.

(Trunk Release): Press and holdthis button to unlatch the trunk lid. Youcan open the trunk with the transmitterwhen the vehicle is in Park. The trunk may also be opened using theTrunk Release button located on the leftside of the instrument panel.

(Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm):Press this button to locate your vehicle.The turn signal lamps will flash and thehorn will sound three times. Press andhold this button to activate the alarm.

Remote Keyless Entry The horn will sound and the headlampswill flash for two minutes. Press the but-ton again to cancel the panic alarm.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

For your safety, your vehicle is pro-grammed at the factory to lock all doorsautomatically when all doors are closed,the ignition is on and the shift leveris moved out of Park. This featurecannot be disabled; however, you cancustomize the unlock features by usingthe Driver Information Center.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Automatic Door Locks

Your vehicle is equipped with aPassenger Sensing System located inthe front passenger seat for the frontpassenger frontal airbag, and a passen-ger airbag status indicator located onthe instrument panel center stack.

Note: It is recommended that childrennot be placed in the front passengerseat, even with the Passenger SensingSystem. All children should be secured ina rear seat, including an infant riding in arear-facing infant seat, a child riding in aforward-facing child seat or an older childriding in a booster seat.

Head Curtain Side Airbags

The head curtain side airbags are located in the ceiling above the side windows.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Your vehicle may feature the OnStarSafe & Sound Plan or the uplevelOnStar Directions & Connections Plan,with one year of OnStar service from thedate you purchased your new vehicle.OnStar offers a variety of capabilities,such as Remote Door Unlock, AutomaticNotification of Airbag Deployment, andHands-Free Calling. In addition, mostvehicles can get driving directions usingTurn-by-Turn Navigation. OnStarAdvisors can send a planned route toyour vehicle and, as you approach aturn, instructions play over your vehiclespeakers and are displayed on the radio(as shown above). Manual Seatback Adjustment

Lift the rear-mounted lever on theoutboard side of the seat cushionand move the seatback to the desiredposition; then release the lever.Power Seat Adjustment (if equipped)Use the horizontal control (A) on theoutboard side of the seat to move theseat forward or rearward. On thedriver’s seat, also use the control toraise or lower the front or rear of theseat cushion.

The heated front seat controls are located on the climate control panel. High Setting• Press the button once to turn on the

heated seat. It will heat to the high setting (two indicator lights).

Low Setting• Press the button again to turn on the

seat to the low setting (one indicator light).

Off• Press the button a third time to turn

off the heated seat.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Heated Seats (if equipped)

The steering wheel can be adjusted up or down using the lever located onthe left side of the steering column.To tilt the wheel, hold the steering wheel and pull the lever toward you.Then adjust the wheel to a comfortableposition and release the lever to lock the wheel in place.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Tilt Steering Wheel

The shoulder belt can be adjusted to theheight that is right for you. Push the but-tons (A) on the sides of the adjuster tomove it down. Push up on the belt guide(B) to move it up. Once in a comfortableposition, try to move the height adjusterto make sure it is locked in place.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

Lumbar Adjustment (if equipped)

Adjust lumbar support using the front-mounted lever on the outboard side ofthe seat cushion. Ratchet the lever up toincrease support or down to decreasesupport.See Section 1 of your Owner Manual.

The climate controls include the follow-ing functions:

(Fan): Turn the fan control knob (A)to increase or decrease fan speed.Turn the fan knob to the (Off)position to turn off the system.

(Air Conditioning): Press thisbutton to turn the air conditioning systemon or off.

(Recirculation): Press this buttonto recirculate inside air through the vehi-cle and keep outside air from enteringthe vehicle. The recirculation mode willoperate only when the vent or bi-levelmode is selected.

The power outside rearview mirrors canbe adjusted using the controls locatedon the driver’s door.Use the bottom switch to select the driver-side or passenger-side mirror; andthen use the control pad to adjust theselected mirror up, down or side to side.Move the selector switch to the centerposition when not adjusting either mirror.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Climate Controls

(Outside Air): Press this button toallow outside air to enter the vehicle.Temperature Control: Rotate thethumbwheels (B) to raise or lower thetemperature setting(s) for the driver andfront passenger zones.Airflow Modes: Turn the airflow controlknob (C) to change the direction of theair delivery to the vent, bi-level, floor,defog, or defrost mode. The knob canbe positioned between two modes for awide range of airflow adjustments.

(Rear Window Defogger): Pressthis button to activate the rear windowdefogger. The defogger will turn offautomatically after about 10 minutes.Maximum Cooling Performance1. Open the windows to let the hot

inside air escape; then close them.2. Select the lowest temperature setting

for both zones.3. Select the (Vent) mode.4. Press the (Air Conditioning)

button.5. Select the highest fan speed.

Maximum Heating Performance1. Select the highest temperature setting

for both zones.2. Select the (Floor) mode.3. Select a mid-level fan speed.4. When airflow feels warm, select the

highest fan speed.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Note: When the lowest temperature set-ting and the air conditioning are selected,the recirculation mode is automaticallyactivated. If a higher temperature settingis selected later, the system will changeto the outside air mode.

Note: A flashing light when the airconditioning or recirculation button ispressed indicates that the function is notavailable based on the current settingsor the outside temperature.

(Tune) knob to adjust the tone control(bass/treble) or speaker control (balance/fade) setting. Turn the knobor press the SEEK, FWD or REV buttonto adjust the selected setting.

(Information): Press this button todisplay additional information related tothe current FM-RDS or XM station, orMP3 song.FAV (Favorite) (if equipped): Press thisbutton to go through up to six pages ofany combination (AM, FM, or XM, ifequipped) of preset favorite radio sta-tions. On each page, up to six stationsare available by using the six push-buttons below the radio display.BAND: Press this button to switch toFM, AM, or XM (if equipped). Whenplaying a CD or portable audio player,press this button to play the radioinstead.CD/AUX: Press this button to play a CDinstead of the radio. Press again and thesystem will automatically search for aportable audio player connected to theauxiliary input jack.EQ (Equalization): Press this button toselect preset equalization settings.CAT (Category) (if equipped): Press thisbutton to find XM stations (if equipped)within a desired category.

ENTERTAINMENT

While most of the features on your radiowill look familiar, some of the followingmay be new:

(Power/Volume): Press this knob toturn the system on or off. Turn the knobto adjust the volume.

(Tune): Turn this knob to select radiostations or, when a CD is playing, toselect a track or MP3 file. Press the

To block glare,swing downthe sun visors.Each visorcan bedetached fromthe centerretainer and slid along the rod to coverdifferent areas of the front window androtated to cover the side window.See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

Sun Visors

To keep the vehicle glass fog-free, turnthe airflow control knob to the (Defog) mode or the (Defrost) mode(see Climate Controls). Recirculation willnot function in these modes, allowingoutside air into the vehicle to helpreduce moisture. Also keep the glassclean. Cleaning the glass will help pre-vent moisture accumulation on the glassin humid conditions.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Auxiliary Input Jack: A portable audioplayer (such as an iPod® or MP3 player)can be connected to the auxiliary inputjack located on the radio. Press theCD/AUX button to begin playing audiofrom the portable player over the vehiclespeakers. To optimize speaker volume,fully increase the volume level of theportable player.Setting Favorite Stations(if equipped)Before setting your favorite stations,shift the vehicle into Park.

You can set up to six pages of anycombination (AM, FM, or XM, ifequipped) of favorite radio stations, withup to six stations stored on each page.

To set the number of favorite stationpages:1. Press the MENU button to display the

radio setup menu.2. Press the pushbutton located below

the FAV 1–6 label on the radio display.3. Select the desired number of favorite

station pages.

Note: Engaging in extended searching forspecific audio stations or songs by usingbuttons and knobs — or giving extendedattention to entertainment tasks — canlead you to look away from the roadfrequently or for prolonged periods,which may cause you to miss seeingthings on the road that you need to see.Avoid engaging in extended searching forspecific items while driving.

4. Press the FAV button. You may nowbegin storing your favorite stations forthe chosen number of pages.

To store favorite stations:1. Tune in the desired radio station.2. Press the FAV button to display the

page where the station is to bestored.

3. Press and hold one of the six push-buttons until a beep sounds to storethe station.

4. Repeat the steps for each pushbuttonon each page.

Setting the Time

To set the time:1. Press the (Clock) button. Or,

if equipped, press the MENU buttonuntil the clock option is displayed;and then press the pushbutton locat-ed under the clock option label. TheHR, MIN, MM, DD, YYYY labels willappear on the display.

2. Press the pushbutton under any ofthe labels to be changed.

3. Press the pushbutton again, theright SEEK arrow or FWD button toincrease the numbers. Press theleft SEEK arrow or REV button todecrease the numbers. Rotating the

(Tune) knob also will increase ordecrease the numbers of the selectedlabel.

4. Press the Clock or MENU buttonagain to set the currently displayedtime and date.

Speed Compensated VolumeWith Speed Compensated Volume(SCV), the radio automatically adjuststhe volume to compensate for roadnoise as vehicle speed changes. Pressthe MENU button to access the SCVsettings.Playing MP3 Files (if equipped)The audio system may have MP3 fileplayback capability. When playing a CD-R containing MP3 audio files,an MP3 label will be displayed.Radio Data SystemWhen you tune to a Radio Data System(RDS) station, the station name or callletters will appear on the display insteadof the frequency. Depending on the RDSstation, additional text information maybe available by pressing the (Information) button.RDS features are available for use onlyon FM stations that broadcast RDSinformation. RDS relies on receivingspecific information from these stationsand will work only when the informationis available.Refer to the Audio Systems section ofyour Owner Manual for more informationabout all available audio systems.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Multiple-Disc CD Player (if equipped)

With the in-dash 6-Disc CD Player, notethat you cannot directly load a CD as insingle-play systems.Load a Single CD• Press and release the LOAD

button. Wait for the display promptbefore loading the CD.

Load Multiple CDs• Press and hold the LOAD button

CONVENIENCE

This feature allows you to start theengine from outside the vehicle by usingthe Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) trans-mitter. (Remote Vehicle Start transmitterrange is within approximately 200 feet ofthe vehicle.)After a remote start, the engine will runfor about 10 minutes before turning itselfoff, but can be extended 10 minutes byperforming another remote startsequence at any time. After two consec-utive remote starts, no additional remotestarts are allowed until the vehicle hasbeen started with the ignition key. The vehicle’s climate control systemautomaticallyheats or coolsthe vehicle interi-or, depending onequipment, or willturn on at thesame setting aswhen the vehiclewas last turned off.Starting the Vehicle1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the

vehicle.2. Press and release the (Lock)

button on the transmitter.3. Immediately press and hold the

(Remote Vehicle Start) button for about four seconds.

4. When the vehicle starts, the parking lamps will light and remain on while the engine is running.

5. Repeat these steps for a 10-minute time extension.

When you enter the vehicle after aRemote Vehicle Start, the key must beinserted in the ignition and turned to theRun position before driving.

Canceling a Remote Start If you wish to turn off the engine insteadof driving after a Remote Vehicle Start,perform one of the following functions:• Press and hold the button until the

parking lamps turn off.• Press and release the Hazard

Warning Flashers button inside the vehicle. Press the button again to turn off the flashers.

• Turn the key in the ignition switch to On and then off.

• The engine will automatically stop when time expires.

Auto Turn Signal

The turn signal lever includes an auto-matic lane change signal feature.To signal a lane change, raise or lowerthe lever until the arrow starts to flash;then release the lever. The turn signalwill flash automatically three times.To signal a turn, move the lever all theway up or down.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Exterior Lamps

Automatic Lamp ControlYour vehicle is equipped with anAutomatic Lamp Control (ALC) system,which turns on the headlamps and otherexterior lamps at night or when neces-sary. The exterior lamps also can beoperated manually.

Light SensorThe Automatic Lamp Control system’slight sensor is located on top of theinstrument panel. To ensure proper sys-tem operation, it’s important to avoidplacing any objects on or near the sensor.

Exterior Lamp Control SwitchThe exterior lamp control switch is located on the instrument panel to theleft of the steering wheel. The switchcan be rotated to each of the followingpositions:

(Off): When operating in the AUTOposition, a momentary turn of the lampcontrol switch to the Off position will turnoff the ALC system and all the exteriorlights. Turn the control switch to this posi-tion again to turn on the ALC system.

AUTO (Automatic): Automatically turnson Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) inthe daytime and headlamps, parkinglamps and taillamps at night.

(Parking Lamps): Turns on park-ing lamps and taillamps.

(Headlamps): Turns on the head-lamps, parking lamps and taillamps.

(Fog Lamps): Push in the exteriorlamp control to turn the fog lamps onor off. See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

The followingcruise controlbuttons arelocated on thesteeringwheel:

(On/Off):Press thisbutton to turnthe cruisecontrol systemon or off. – SET (Set):Press this but-ton to set a speed, or to decrease theset speed if the system is active. Whenthe cruise control speed is set, thecruise light will illuminate in the instru-ment cluster.+ RES (Resume): Press this button toresume a set speed, or to increase theset speed if the system is active.

Windshield Wipers

The windshield wipers control is locatedon the multifunction stalk on the left sideof the steering column. It includes thefollowing functions:

(Mist): Rotate the wipers banddown to this position to turn the wiperson for one wipe.

(Off): Rotate the wipers band to thisposition to turn the wipers off.

(Delay): Rotate the wipers band up tothis position to have the wipers delay

between wipes. The wipers activatemore often as the band is rotatedupward.

(Low): Rotate the wipers band up to this position to turn the wipers on Low.

(High): Rotate the wipers band up to this position to turn the wipers on High.

(Washer): Push the paddle on top of the multifunction lever to spraywasher fluid on the windshield.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Your vehicle is equipped with AccessoryPower Outlets (APOs) on the instrumentpanel and the center console (if equipped) that provide power for a num-ber of electronic devices. On vehicleswithout a center console, an APO islocated at the rear center of the frontpassenger seat.See Section 3 of your Owner Manual.

Accessory Power Outlets

The split rear seats flip and fold toprovide more cargo space and accessto the trunk. An additional storagecompartment is located under the seatcushions.To Fold Down a Rear Seat:1. Extend the center rear safety belt

and wrap it around the outboard pas-senger’s side headrest (A).

2. Pull the seat cushion tab (B) locatedat the back side of each seat cushion.

The control switch for the sunroof islocated on the overhead console. Tooperate the sunroof:

(Vent/Express-Open): Open thesunshade by hand. Press this switchonce for the vent position. Press theswitch again to activate the express-open function. Press the close switch to stop the move-ment of the sunroof.

(Close): Press and hold this switchuntil the sunroof closes. See Section 2 of your Owner Manual.

3. Flip the seat cushion forward.4. Pull on the seatback tab (C) located

on the top outboard side of eachseatback.

5. Fold down the seatback.

To Fold Up a Rear Seat:1. Push up the seatback until it latches.2. Pull on the seatback to make sure it

is secure. 3. Place the center rear safety belt back

in the center seat position. Check thatall safety belts are properly stowedover the seatback.

4. Fold down the seat cushion until itlatches.

5. Pull on the seat cushion to make sureit is secure.

PERFORMANCE & MAINTENANCE

The Antilock Brake System (ABS) is anadvanced electronic system that willhelp prevent a braking skid. When oper-ating the brakes, do not pump the brakepedal. Just hold the brake pedal downfirmly. You may feel a slight brake pedalpulsation or notice some noise, but thisis normal.See Section 4 of your Owner Manual.

Antilock Brake System

The Traction ControlSystem activatesevery time you startyour vehicle. Whenone or more of thedrive wheels begin tospin from tractionloss, the TractionControl System willreduce engine power, indicated by aflashing light on the instrument panel.The front brakes may be applied and thetransaxle may upshift to help regaintraction. If your vehicle becomes stuckand rocking the vehicle is required, thesystem should be turned off.To deactivate the Traction ControlSystem, press the traction control buttonon the left side of the instrument panel.When the system is turned off, the trac-tion control light will illuminate.See Section 4 of your Owner Manual.

The Tire Pressure Monitor alerts youwhen a significant reduction in pressureoccurs in one or more of your vehicle’stires by illuminating the (LowTire Pressure) warning light on theinstrument panel. The low tire pressurewarning light will remain on until youcorrect the tire pressure. You may alsohave a CHECK TIRE PRESSURE mes-sage appear on the DIC (if equipped).To view tire pressures, press the (Vehicle Information) button until the DICshows the tire pressure for the fronttires. Press the button again to view thepressure for the rear tires.Correcting the Tire PressureWhen the low tire pressure warning lightilluminates, you must inflate the tire tothe proper tire pressure. The Tire andLoading Information label shows thecorrect tire pressure for the tires whenthey’re cold. “Cold” means your vehicle

StabiliTrak® – Stability ControlSystem (if equipped)

StabiliTrak is an advanced computer-controlled vehicle stability system thatassists with directional control of thevehicle in difficult driving conditions. Itturns on automatically every time youstart your vehicle.When the system senses a discrepancybetween your intended path and thedirection the vehicle is actually traveling,it selectively applies brake pressure atany one of the wheels to help steer thevehicle in the direction in which you aresteering.See Section 4 of your Owner Manual.

The Oil Life System calculates engine oillife based on vehicle use and displaysCHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON in theDriver Information Center (DIC) when it’snecessary to change your engine oil andfilter. The Oil Life System should bereset to 100% only following an oilchange.Reset the Oil Life System1. Turn the ignition to On.2. Press the button until the DIC

displays OIL LIFE REMAINING.3. Press and hold the button until

Resetting the Engine Oil LifeSystem

If the Driver Information Center displaysthe TIGHTEN GAS CAP message,check that your gas cap is securelyfastened. If the cap is not secure, turn itclockwise until a clicking sound is heard,indicating that it is properly installed.See Sections 3 and 5 of your Owner Manual.

Securing the Gas Cap

If your vehicle has a yellow gas cap, itwas engineered as a FlexFuel vehiclecapable of running on gasoline or E85fuel. E85 is a blend of 85% ethanol and15% gasoline. E85 is a high-octane,

FlexFuel (E85) – Yellow Gas Cap(if equipped)

renewable fuel made primarily from corn(see livegreengoyellow.com). Your FlexFuel vehicle automaticallydetects the current fuel mixture in thefuel tank and adjusts engine settingsaccordingly. You can fill up with gasolineor E85, regardless of which fuel isalready in the tank.E85 is not yet available at all gas sta-tions. E85 holds less energy per gallonthan gasoline, so drivers will experiencelower miles per gallon and cruisingrange when running on E85.

However, at the nextvehicle start-up, the DIC message willreappear if the tire pressure has notbeen corrected.You may notice during cooler conditionsthat the low tire pressure warning lightwill appear when the vehicle is firststarted and then turn off as you start todrive. This could be an early indicatorthat your tire pressures are getting lowand the tires need to be inflated to theproper pressure.
