Our rating & descriptionThis magnificent property enjoys a spectacular location, set in a care-

fully restored Benedictine abbey, originally founded in the eighth centu-

ry. Standing in the heart of the Umbrian countryside near the village of

Umbriano, this charming hotel offers luxurious accommodation and fine

dining in an incomparable setting.

Strategically located between the historic cities of Spoleto and Tierni,

it is perfect for exploring this beautiful corner of Umbria, often called

the Green Heart of Italy. Nearby landmarks and attractions include the

beautiful lake of Piediluco and the spectacular artificial waterfalls of

Marmore, created by the Romans.

This venue has a fine restaurant, the Hora Media, recalling the Bene-

dictine origins of this beautiful abbey. The restaurant serves delicious

menus based on the finest seasonal produce and authentic regional

cuisine. Breakfast is of course served in the refectory, and includes a

rich variety of typical Umbrian salami and cheese, freshly baked bread

and pastries, home-made marmalade and much more. Guests can also

take advantage of the spa and wellness centre, featuring a Finnish sau-

na, a hydro-massage pool and a range of treatments. For moments of

quiet relaxation, the hotel has a reading room and a billiards room, while

the immense panoramic garden offers spectacular views over the me-

dieval village of Umbriano and the Valnerina valley.

AccomodationsTheir charming rooms mostly derive from the old cells where the Bene-

dictine monks of the abbey used to live, or from the lodge, and every

room is different from the other: some rooms have a fireplace, others

wooden shelves and niches, built-in wardrobes, lobbies or loopholes.

The unique, timeless atmosphere of the abbey can be felt everywhere,

in every room.

WeddingsThe abbey is the ideal place, where you can celebrate your anniversa-

ries: from weddings to Birthday parties, or any other anniversary con-

nected to love and affection. Exclusive rooms and inner spaces are at

your disposal: the Romanesque cloister, the smaller cloister from 15th

century, the lounge or the garden.

The garden with its splendid scenery will be the perfect setting for your

celebrations and timeless memories... enjoy the view over the medieval

village Umbriano (The oldest Umbrian village), or the nature all around

the park, where a fountain with its and lucky charms fishes and turtles

is waiting for you... on the background you’ll see the apse of the church

and the bell tower, with the image of St. Peter.

The abbey can accommodate up to 150 guests, who will be sitting in the

old refectory or under the arches of the cloister. The inner restaurant

will offer you a wide choice of interesting dishes, especially for wedding

menus, with fresh flowers, elegant mise en place, taking care of any

other detail you are asking for. If you prefer a catering service, we’ll

be glad to suggest you the best catering services of the region. The

solemn Longobards’ church, close to the abbey, is available after per-

mission by the local curia for a ceremony as well.
