The series includes:

PBIS

Positive Behavior Intervention SupportPBIS is a framework for decreasing negative behavior and increasing positive behavior.

• Teachers are teaching school wide lesson plans to teach students appropriate behavior in all common areas.

• Each teacher has a hive located outside their classroom. Classes can earn a bee for their good behavior in the cafeteria and by someone giving them a compliment in the hallway.

• We want students to be proud of their behavior and show stinger pride (Bee Safe, Bee Respectful, Bee Responsible)!!!

Behavior Clip ChartStudent behavior choices are tracked on a clip chart. Each student has a clip with their name or number on it. All students begin every day on green in the middle of the chart. Clips are moved up or down depending on behavior choices. Clips that are moved down may be moved back up, if the teacher sees the students making improved choices. In addition, once a clip is moved up, it may be moved down. There may also be classroom consequences/rewards associated with clip movement. Students will record their behavior chart color at the end of each school day in their planner. Please initial the planner daily and discuss your child’s behavior choices.

Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a reading program in which the students test their reading comprehension by taking quizzes on books they have read.Students read and take quizzes on their reading level. To find books on your child’s reading level visit www.arbookfind.com
