Global warming is now one of the primarycauses of natural disasters such as glaciersmelting, the more frequent occurrences of typhoons, droughts and oods, and theextinction of some species of plants andanimals. The excessive burning of fossil fuelto produce energy is resulting in increasedemissions of carbon dioxide, which greatlycontributes to global warming.

Saving 1kWh of electricity is equivalent to

saving 0.4kg of coal and 0.4 litres of purewater, and reducing emission of 1kg of carbondioxide and 0.03kg of sulphur dioxide.

Our environment is changing for the worse.More and more, fossil fuels are burnt tokeep up with the worlds increasing energyrequirement. However, this situation can beimproved if everyone makes a little effort. In this booklet, you will nd some practicalenergy-saving tips.
