About Campus California TG

CCTG is a registered non-profit organization under sections 501(c)(3),

509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(ii). We have been recognized as tax ex-

empt since 2000, federal ID # 94-337-1033; state # 2238562. CCTG is

an international center running a variety of activities for people from

all around the world located in Etna, a small town in Northern Cali-

fornia. CCTG also runs a clothing collection program in the San Fran-

cisco Bay Area in order to raise the funds for its activities.

Our main activity is recruiting, training and placing of volunteers for

humanitarian and environmental projects overseas. These projects

are run in cooperation with the International Humana People To

People Movement.

After completing their training at CCTG the volunteers travel to vari-

ous countries in Southern Africa and South America and work with

the following types of projects:

• HIV/AIDS prevention

• Teacher training for rural primary schools

• Environment (tree planting, soil conservation, farmers clubs)

• Child Aid

Recycle for Development by hosting a

Clothes Donation Box

Believing that human beings must be creators of development, CCTG makes possible for

thousands of people to take part in development work. Most people have clothing they

never use stored in closets or stored somewhere in the attic. Eventually these items are

thrown into the garbage bin and dumped in the landfill. CCTG is tapping into this valu-

able resource and by keeping used clothing and shoes out of the waste stream we also

give every individual a possibility to reduce his or her carbon footprint!

The collected items are sold wholesale and the proceeds are used solely for the benefit

of CCTG’s programs.

Communication with volunteers during

training period and while in Africa/

South America

CCTG will arrange an ongoing information exchange between the students and our vol-

unteers through:

• Visits to your school

• Email correspondence and pictures

Each class will receive profiles or volunteers (Development Instructors, DI’s). They will then

stay in communication and follow the DI through the training in the USA as well as during

the Africa/South America period. Upon the DI’s return to the USA, the class will receive a

visit and a lively presentation about his/her experiences.

Live Presentations

Here are some examples of the presentation we offer:

• An one hour presentation about Africa or South America

• A full day presentation series; an “Africa Day” in which there will be a variety of pres-

entations, activities, songs and video

• A full week program about Africa or South America and the development issues fac-

ing the two continents.

• A special program for graduating high school classes

Clothing Drive

CCTG can assist the school with setting up a clothes drive.

We will support the students efforts in the development and successful implementa-

tion of this type of event.

During a clothes drive your students will mobilize people to bring their surplus clothes

and shoes to your school. At the end of the period one of the CCTG drivers would come

and collect the clothes.

During this period the students will also learn the value of recycling and develop in-

creased awareness of our limited resources and fragile environment

Annual Certificates of Appreciation

Certificated will be given to individual schools and students of merit who make a signifi-

cant contribution to recycling and/or development. The categories are the following:

• Elementary school

• Middle school

• High school

In addition, there will be a quarterly publication that lists the poundage collected from

each participating school.
