    Asian Consulates hold 2nd ACGC Bowling Tournament

    On Thursday 28 January, the Asian

    Consuls General Club (ACGC) held

    its 2nd bowling tournament,

    organized by the Philippine

    Consulate General. 11 of 13

    Consulates participated in almost a

    day-long of friendly competition with

    diplomats and their families.

    Besides the Philippines, the other Asian Consulates that joined the fun games wereBrunei Darussalam, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri

    Lanka, and Thailand.

    After some warm-up, Philippine

    Consul General Ezzedin Tago

    quickly welcomed everyone.

    Japans Consul General H.E.

    Toshimitsu Ishigure, who is the

    Clubs Coordinator and dean,

    gave short remarks.

    All Consuls General then posed

    for a quick photo and lined up

    for the ceremonial toss. With

    Consuls General and heads of

    consular missions leading each

    games started. Each country fielded a team of 5 players composed of 4 males and 1

    female.

    After 3 games, winners came from

    various consulates. The trophy for

    ladies high series and high game

    went to Mrs. Yamini Wahjudi of

    Indonesia. She got 160 pins in the

    high game, and 409 pins in 3 to win

    the high-series. For the gents,

    Filipinos Mr. Mariano Gueco wonmens high series with a score of

    512, while Mr. Acod Mangondato, Jr.

    got 190 in one game to win the mens

    high game trophies.

    Malaysian Consul General H.E. Hidayat Abdul Hamid got the Best Consul General

    Bowler award for this year with a high game of 160 pons

    The team competition was very tight, with only 3 pins separating the 3rd and 2nd

    placers. The Indonesian Consulate Team was the 2nd Runner-up with a total of 1951

    pins. 3 pins ahead was the Team of Brunei Darussalam Consulate with 1954 pins,

    enough to win the 1st runner-up trophy.

    Team Philippines won the

    championship with a total of

    1982 pins.

    Japans Consul GeneralIshigure and Philippine

    Consull Leo Tito L. Ausan, Jr.

    of the Philippines awarded the

    trophies after a lunch break.

    H.E. Sabarullah Khan of Sri Lanka, H.E. Dal-jun Han of Korea, H.E. Sayeed AhmedBaba of India and H.E. Hidayat Abdul Hamid of Malaysia.
