We offer relevant and inspiring classroom and clinical experiences.

Our small class sizes allow for greater interaction among students and professors. With anaverage class size of 15 students, you have the ability to engage in lively classroom discussions,to share your unique experiences and exchange views and clinical knowledge. Our BSNprogram is dedicated to more than just providing you with a degree – it is about fosteringcollaborative professional relationships that further enhance learning for all.

Our Boston campus is located in the heart of the Longwood Medical and Academic Area,adjacent to some of the most respected health care institutions in the nation. Emmanuel’sproximity to these health care institutions has allowed the College to form strategic part-nerships, including onsite classes with employers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Brigham andWomen’s Hospital and the Caritas Christi Health Care System.

Our classes meet every other week, enabling you to fit academics into your professional andpersonal schedules. All modified accelerated courses include a major element of independentstudy. Nursing classes meet six times during a semester and are offered at Emmanuel’s easy-to-reach Boston and Woburn campuses. Most students complete the degree program in two tothree years. We have rolling admissions and enrollment opportunities multiple times per year,which help to accelerate the completion of your degree. You can also set your own pace withflexible program scheduling.

As respected professionals with years of experience in nursing, the Emmanuel faculty membersmaintain a strong and up-to-date command in their areas of expertise. As understandingeducators, they cultivate lively dialogue so that you and your fellow students share first-handperspectives on patient care, health care issues and other key subjects. Your professors areclinicians, researchers and teachers who serve as true advocates for you.

You have a full-time member of the nursing faculty as your dedicated advisor. the path your nursing career takes next goes beyond that

dedication to discovering which of the new professional

nursing opportunities are right for you. The Bachelor of

Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Emmanuel College will

open you to many new horizons in the field of nursing. We

recognize that in order for you to take the next step in your

nursing career, you need a curriculum specifically developed

to meet your range of learning needs. We will provide you

with an individualized plan of study that will prepare you for

whatever academic and professional success is next for you.

By choosing Emmanuel College, you will gain knowledge

and expertise in health promotion and public health nursing.

You will develop ideas to improve the care you deliver to

patients, assume a leadership role and become a life-long

nursing scholar. The BSN program is fully accredited by the

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

This program is open to Registered Nurses only. You must bea licensed RN or be eligible for licensure to enter the program.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING DEGREE REQUIREMENTSThe Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requires the completion of 128 credits.Students must complete a minimum of 48 credits at Emmanuel College. Uponcompletion of the Concepts of Professional Practice course, 36 nursing creditswill be transferred from the student’s Associate’s Degree or Diploma program.The curriculum reflects prerequisites, general education and nursing courses. Theorganizing foundational components of the nursing program – beliefs, professionalrole, knowing and caring – are integral to the discipline and profession of nursing.Emphasis on these components is woven into every nursing course.

A PERSONAL APPROACH TO DEGREE PLANNINGIntegral to an Emmanuel College education is our advising program. From the momentyou start the application process, you’ll work with an enrollment counselor who willguide you through your application and enrollment. As an Emmanuel BSN student,you will have an academic advisor who is a full-time faculty member.

Your advisor will:

• Interpret academic policies and guidelines by providing examples as appropriate

• Provide continuity in monitoring progress

• Meet with students as requested and provide guidance about career goals

• Review transcripts to determine graduation eligibility and honors

• Evaluate courses submitted for transfer credit

associate degree programs.

EDUCATIONAL MOBILITYEmmanuel College works in partnership with a number of other accredited educa-tional institutions. Educational mobility agreements exist with 10 associate degreeand diploma programs to assist RNs with entrance into our program.

SIGMA THETA TAU INTERNATIONALEligible students may apply for membership in the Pi Epsilon Chapter at Large ofSigma Theta Tau International, the international honor society of nursing.
