During April (National Donate Life Month), WRTC developed a YouTube campaign titled “30 Days, 30 Stories.” The campaign, which featured the stories of those who have been touched by or-gan and tissue donation, was a huge success, garnering multiple press stories as well as more than 10,000 views! (Below) Donor mother Al-reda tells her story on YouTube. The videos can be viewed at www.youtube.com/wrtcbeadonor.
IN MEMORIAM: Fred Thurston (left, with his wife) was the recipient of donor Ben Kopp’s kidney. Ben was wounded in battle in Afghanistan and died here at Walter Reed Army Medi-cal Center. Fred and his wife were generous enough to come to share their story with WRTC staff in March. He died that same month.
