2010 “FireCracker Classic” WC/I/X Event Report:

The Event Committee would like to thank all of the members and non-members of PHRC

for making this event such a huge success: from the volunteers who helped with the bird

stations to the handlers who did a great job running their dogs. A total of 16 dogs were

entered to run the test. We would like to thank our hunt test judges, Margaret Mitchell

and Nancy Brandow who did an excellent job setting up the hunt test for the WC and

WCI/X respectively. A big thanks goes to Nancy Brandow for allowing us to hold the

WC/I/X event at Cedarwood Kennels. The fields were nicely groomed yet offered a

challenge with the rolling terrain. The ponds were nestled in the woods with an aura of a

true duck hunt about to begin.

Upon completion of the test, a tailgate party was held in a quaint little cabin that looked

out onto the two ponds. The setting was conducive to the many success stories that were

told and may be told in the future. Whether you sat in a rocking chair on the porch or

under the canopy on the lawn, the atmosphere was similar to ending a long day of duck

hunting.
