conducTing energy audiTs & implemenTing mainTenance sTraTegiescourse fee: $350 mar 24-25, ocT 7-8
The primary motivator for change in the lighting industry is the energy crisis. Oil, coal, gas &
uranium have climbed to record high prices in the last few years. The cost of electricity has reached
unprecedented levels. As the cost of generating power increases, so does the return on investment
in energy efficient appliances. Lighting fixtures are the single largest energy consuming appliance on
any commercial utility bill. Lighting offers the fastest internal rate of return of any upgrade with the
lowest investment. Utility rebates, EPAct tax incentives and annual energy savings turn any delay
into a costly mistake.
This two-day course will provide training for industry consultants, facilities managers, and building
owners on how conducting energy audits and developing maintenance strategies for existing facilities
can be extremely beneficial in reducing energy costs and providing huge returns. Participants will be
instructed on how to perform an energy audit and knowledge of the tools necessary to complete the
task. Also discussed will be the incentives, rebate opportunities and current legislation that affects
lighting applications.
