Knowledge Through Experience

Business ModelThe beauty of the curbing business is that it can be operated on a part time or full time basis. If you have a work contract or need to stay on at a current job, you can operate the curbing business on weekends or in your spare time. Since this can be a home-based business, you are afforded great flexibility. Concrete curbing can also be a great addition to many landscaping or concrete service businesses. Full or part time, you decide how much you work, when you work, and where you work.

Staffing requirementsEdgemaster perfected a machine that can practically drive itself and so for the first time allowed a one person curbing operation. Curbing can be installed with a crew as small as one or two people, but three people on site is most common: One person feeding and driving the machine, one person finishing the curb and one person mixing the concrete. Typically, until your crew is fully trained, the owner/operator will operate the machine and use one or two helpers to do the ground prep, concrete mixing and troweling. Many operators work along with their wife or partner. A three person crew should be able to install and finish up to 400 feet or more of custom-stamped curbing per day. At $8 or more per foot, it makes for a $3200 sale. Not bad for one day’s work!

Do I need prior experience?You do not need any prior experience to enter this lucrative business. We will thoroughly train you and your crew and you will benefit from our two decades of experience. Training and support are important parts of our business. Even after your initial training, you will receive ongoing technical and phone support for life. Every Edgemaster is supplied with six standard curb shape profiles. These are now standard specifications for engi-neers, architects and governments in many countries. There is an unlimited number of custom molds that can be made to specifications, but these six have proven to be the most popular and efficient curb profiles. Each asymmetrical profile is reversible, allowing the curbing to be installed in both directions. All Edgemaster curb profiles are “quick change” in a few seconds, requiring no tools. The Edgemaster Widebody comes with additional commercial molds shown below.

Each curb profile is supplied with matching left and right handed finishing trowels. The finishing trowels are manufactured with exacting

These trailers have a very light tare weight, allowing even a half ton truck to tow the trailer with two yards of sand and sufficient cement to lay 250 feet of curb. Our stamping tools are not fabricated and welded pieces of metal. They are one piece, precision-made forged high-nickel steel. This makes sure they don’t rust, are almost indestructible and make precision stamp impressions on your curbs for years and years. Look carefully - these tools are unique!

You will be trained on techniques where your curbs will be “one-of-a-kind” with as many as four or five colors being used to create the finished masterpiece. This brings much higher profits as your custom curbs are only limited by your imagination. This brings higher profits to you.

Two decades of development has proven that extruding wider curb produces a stronger, more

durable product. A wider curb also means a larger “footprint” (or contact area) which enhances

the ease with which the curb machine tackles uneven terrain. Each standard Edgemaster curbing

profile is a full 7 inches in width. Your customers will thank you when they see how good it looks

and how durable their new curbing is. For special applications, you may even choose a custom

shape and have a special profile made to suit your Edgemaster.

All Edgemaster profiles are supplied with both right and left-handed trowels for ease of finishing in either direction. This is an innovative feature first developed and proven by Edgemaster.

Edgemaster uses a unique and easy system. Curb lighting is installed using specially designed curb molds

which create a perfectly sized lighting channel in the curbing as it is extruded. Once the curb has been layed,

the lighting strips are easily placed into the pre fitted grooves without the need for any grinding, cutting or

sawing. This results in an installation where the light strips sit flush with the surrounding concrete surface.

Curb lighting is a safe, low voltage product that adds aesthetic beauty to any property and bring extra profit.
