Penn State’s game with conference rival Ohio Stateon October 23 will be special not only because itwill be a rematch of the thrilling 2009 Big TenTournament title game but because Nittany Lionsoccer alums and fans will gather to honor andcommemorate the program’s 100-year anniversary.

From November 11-14, Penn State will host the2010 Big Ten Tournament at Jeffrey Field. eNittany Lions have hosted the annual conferencepostseason event on three occasions, with the lastcoming in 2002.

On May 24, 2010, Bob Warming was introduced as the head coach of thePenn State men's soccer program, becoming the 11th in its vaunted 100-yearhistory. Warming, whose distinguished career spans 32 years, came to HappyValley from Creighton University, where he took over a previously dormantprogram and developed it into a conference and regional power and nationaltitle contender.

Warming's three-plus decades as a head coach have been marked bydistinction, achievement, and success. e six-time finalist for national coachof the year and 2008 winner of the award, according to FieldTurf Tarkett,holds a lofty place in the NCAA record book, ranking sixth among activeDivision I head coaches and 15th in Division I history with 383 victories.Warming is also one of only two active coaches in Division I to take twodifferent programs to the College Cup.

In 14 total years at Creighton, served in two different stints (1990-94,2001-09), Warming, the winningest coach in program history, led theBluejays to 190 victories, seven Missouri Valley Conference regular seasonand tournament championships, 11 NCAA Championship appearances,and to the 2002 College Cup. His teams proved nearly unbeatable at home,compiling a 107-18-15 record in Omaha. In recognition of his dominancein league play, Warming, a three-time Missouri Valley Conference Coach ofthe Year honoree, was named the MVC All-Centennial Team Coach in 2006.

Also successful in the classroom, Warming's Creighton squads receivedthe NSCAA Team Academic Achievement Award in 2003, 2004, 2008, and2009. Warming has also produced numerous professional prospects while atCreighton, as at least one player has been selected in every MLS draft, a totalof 24 since the league's inception in 1996.

An ardent believer in giving back through charitable works, Warming's2009 Creighton squad won the community service award for performingover 1500 hours of volunteer activities, including working on Habitat forHumanity projects, reading to elementary school students, and helping outat hospitals. Warming has also has served as the honorary chairman of theBoy Scouts of America for Nebraska and as the honorary chairman of theOmaha Children's Crisis Center annual fund raiser.

Warming has not only built successful teams on the field, but also assistedwith the design, fundraising, and construction management of threecollegiate soccer stadiums, including, most recently, the $13 million, 6,000-seat, state-of-the-art Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium at Creighton. Heand his winning teams helped fill the stands at Morrison Stadium, asCreighton led the MVC and ranked in the NCAA top 10 in attendance eachof the past seven seasons.

In between his tenures at Creighton, Warming served as head coach atSaint Louis University, where he guided it to four Conference USAchampionships, three NCAA Championship berths, and the 1997 CollegeCup. His Billiken teams also finished ranked in the top 20 in all four seasons.

Warming also previously held head coaching positions at Old Dominion(1996), Charlotte (1982-88), Berry College (1977-81), and TransylvaniaUniversity (1976). His career coaching record stands at an impressive 383-

180-64 (.662).A 1975 graduate of Berea College (Ky.), Warming was a four-sport varsity

letterwinner, starring on the golf, swimming, tennis, and soccer teams. As astarting goalkeeper, he posted a 28-2-2 record. Warming also holds a master'sof science degree in sport administration from Eastern Kentucky University.

Warming and his wife, Cindy, have four children - Emily, Bess, and twinsAudrey and Grant.

Jason Mims, who has been an assistant coach under Bob Warming at SaintLouis and Creighton for the past 10 years, will serve in that same role atPenn State, starting with the 2010 season.

A player for Warming at Saint Louis from 1997-99 and a Billiken assistantunder him in 2000, Mims has been recognized as one of the best identifiersand developers of collegiate soccer talent in the nation. Honored by CollegeSoccer News as a top assistant on three occasions, he has been a finalist forthe AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year, was a member of the 2008MVC Coaching Staff of the Year, and was named the 2008 NSCAA CentralRegion Assistant Coach of the Year.

In eight of Mims' nine seasons on the Creighton staff, the Bluejays had atleast one National Player of the Year candidate. Creighton has also boastedan offense ranked among the most prolific in the Missouri Valley Conferenceon an annual basis. During his tenure, the Bluejays won six MVC regularseason or tournament titles, earned nine consecutive NCAA Championshipsbids, and advanced to one College Cup.

As head coach of his club squad, Mims captured five Nebraska state titles.In 2007, the club captured the Region II championship and advanced tonationals, becoming the first ever Nebraska youth soccer team to win a game.Mims was also involved with the Nebraska Olympic Development Program.

During his playing career at Saint Louis, Mims was a two-time All-Conference USA and NSCAA All-Midwest Region selection and part of a1997 Billiken team that advanced to the College Cup. Mims has remainedactive in competitive soccer, teaming with former fellow Creighton assistantJohnny Torres to claim the 2008 United States Adult Soccer AssociationOver 30 Championship and helping to organize a team to qualify andparticipate in the U.S. Open Cup.

A native of Memphis, Tenn., Mims earned a communication degree fromSaint Louis in 1999.

After helping the Nittany Lions increase their win total from five to 12,advance to the Big Ten Tournament title game, and earn a No. 7 seed in theNCAA Championship in his first year in Happy Valley, Isang Jacob returnsfor a second season as an assistant at Penn State.

Jacob came to Penn State after 16 years of distinguished service at thestate, regional, national, and international club levels. Most recently, whilemaking his home in the Indianapolis, Ind. area, he served as the head coachof the Indy Burn '90 Eagles (2002-09), leading them to seven consecutiveUS Youth Soccer Indiana State Championships. In 2008, all 19 of his playersearned athletic or academic scholarships to play collegiate soccer, 17 at theDivision I level. In honor of his dedication to building solid citizens as wellas standout soccer players, Jacob was recognized as 2008 Youth Soccer adidasCompetitive Coach of the Year for Boys.

Active in all areas and at various levels of soccer, Jacob held numerouspositions during his professional career, including head coach of the U-16USSF Men's Academy, Carmel United Soccer Club (2008-09), director andowner of the Screaming Eagles Soccer Camp (1995-2009), NSCAA StateTechnical Coordinator (2005-2009), Coaching Education Staff Instructorfor the IYSA, USSF, and NSCAA (1997-present), Region II Boys ODP StaffCoach (2001-2009), NSCAA Associate National Staff Instructor (2002-present), head coach of the Indiana Olympic Development Program(1998-2008), and Director of Coaching of the Indy Burn of the Pike YouthSoccer Club (2003-2007).

A tireless teacher of the game of soccer and highly sought after clinician,Jacob has coached at summer camps for some of the nation's mostprestigious programs including Penn State, Indiana, Notre Dame, and WestVirginia. Jacob gained coaching experience at the collegiate level when heserved as the head men's assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at IUPUIfrom 1995-2002. He also served as a high school head coach, guiding theWarren Central H.S. (Indianapolis) program from 2003-08.

As a player at Indiana Wesleyan University, Jacob was a three-time All-MCC selection (1989-1991) and a two-time NCCAA All-American(1989-1990). After graduation, he was invited to train with the NigerianSenior National Team.

Jacob played at the professional level with the Houston Force of the APSL(1993-95) and with the Indiana Blast of the USL (1997-98).

A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Jacob possesses a bachelor's degree in criminaljustice (1992) from Indiana Wesleyan and a Master of Social Work (1997)from Indiana University.

Jacob holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America PremierCoaching Diploma, the highest achievement of the NSCAA, a USSF A andNational Youth License, NSCAA Goalkeeper 1 and 2 accreditation, and aRoyal Netherlands Football Association Dutch International YouthCoaching Football License.

Penn State’s ultimate ironman, Conrad Taylor started every game (83) and logged every availableminute in goal (7,976) during his collegiate career. e only two-time First Team All-Big Tengoalkeeper in program history, he is ranked second in career shutouts (tie, 24) and is tied for fifthin career goalkeeping (1.08 GAA).
