The 1847 Walker design called or a largerrame or increased powder capacity and thestrength to re a .44 caliber bullet.

The original Dragoon was manuacturedor Colt by Eli Whitney.

The 1st Model Dragoon utilizes ovalcylinder slots.

The 2nd Model Dragoon utilizes squaredcylinder slots.

The 3rd Model Dragoon utilizes squaredcylinder slots and has a rounded trigger guard.

The Walkers large capacity

cylinder allows it to hold up

to 60 grains o black powder

percussion caps.

The Walker was one o the frst

revolvers ftted with a loading

lever. Colt later added a loading

lever latch near the muzzle.

The 1858 New Army was among the rsto the Civil War era percussion revolversconverted to re metallic cartridges.

Original cap-and-ball cylinders were altered orreplaced by a cartridge cylinder with a loading

gate and new breech ace.

In 1872, Colt introduced their actory-installed

percussion-to-cartridge conversion o the1851 Navy cap-and-ball.

Converted rames were also dove-tailed topermit the insertion o an ejector assembly.

Colt introduced the Richards-Mason conversion,which involved installing a conversion ring oraccepting metallic cartridges.

Creedmoor Rear Tang Sights and Globe Tunnel Front Sights

The Creedmoor tang sights used on Sharps rifes were o threeheights, depending on the yardage. The lowest, short-range sightwas good to 300 yards, the mid-range to about 600 yards andlong-range to 1,200 yards and beyond.
