ENGINE
Aprilia Racing offers those who like to take part to desert rallies the opportunity to buy the 450cc engine “ready to race” and assembled by the Aprilia Racing department technicians.
The engine is characterized by a long list of dedicated parts, developed by Aprilia Racing to improve performance and make it suitable for the extremely intense use in long African rallies, characterized by extremely hot air temperatures and never-ending straights ridden at full gas.
Themodificationsallowlongestmaintenanceroutines,whichismandatorywhenracesarethousandskilometreslong.
Thenewclutchkitwithlightweighthubanddrum,togetherwiththenewdiskkit,givesabetterfeelinganditismoreefficientintheworstconditions.
Thenewdistributionkit(plates,collets,pads)andthenewconrodsscrews,givesamajorreliabilityandallowtoincreasetherpmlimiterfrom12.500to13.200.
Adifferentblow-bycircuitgivesabetterlubricationoftherearcylinderandamajoraffordability,whilethenew,heavier,flywheelgivesasmootherthrottleresponsetoimprovetractionandrideabilityonhardsurfaces.
Tocompletethekit,aluminiumoiltankcapswithmagneticinsertstokeepmetalimpuritiesfarfromthecrankshaft.
A tuning up service is also available on the standard RXV 450 engine. By sending a standard engine to Aprilia Racing it will be updated and modified by Aprilia Racing technicians to make it suitable for the hardest desert races.

Nothing is missing in the vehicle kit to transform a standard RXV 450 into a “desert race ready” bike. Aprilia Racing technicians have done everything necessary to ensure the very best performance.
Startingfromthenewframe,reinforcedandmodifiedtohouse4aluminiumhand-madefueltanks,withinternalanti-rinsebulkheadsandfastjoints,wherenew,largerandmoreresistantbilletaluminiumfootrestsandnewrisersareinstalled.Thenewfrontframehousesthecompletelymodifiedwiringtomatchdedicatedpushbuttonsanddashboard(notincluded),2polyellipsoidalheadlightsandanoilradiator,whilethenewrearframehousesanaluminiumtoolsstore.
Anothertoolstoreanda1,5litreswatertankarehousedinthenewengineguard,madeofcarbonfibreasthewholefairingkitandfenders.
Thenewrimshavetangentialreinforcedspokesandreinforcednipplesandanewrearanti-jerk,tofaceanykindofstress.Arotationalsteeringdampergivesthebestvehiclecontrolevenintheworstsituations,thanksalsotothenewcarbonfibresaddle.Moreover,anewtitanium2into1into2completeexhaustissupplied,togetherwithnewsiliconerubberradiatorpipes.
