entry InformatIon:Please read the rules of the department and Division you are entering
carefully, as well as the General Rules at the front of this handbook. This
information provides the entry date deadlines and in Livestock
Departments, pre-registration is required.
A separate entry form is to be used for EACH exhibitor and for EACH
department. If one form is not enough, use an additional form. Entry
forms may be photocopied.
1. Ensure that your name (exhibitor), address including zip code and
telephone number is legible and complete.
2. List the Department, Division and Class number for each item. Use
a separate line for each item. Include payment for entries, exhibitor
passes, parking, etc. where applicable.
3. Mail your completed livestock entry form and fee PRIOR to the
deadline date. Entries received after the deadline will not be
accepted.

Reminders will not be sent.
6. Anyone entering in livestock, except pigeons, poultry and rabbits,

grounds are policed every morning at 8:00 a.m.

Every effort has been made to insure the accuracy of this exhibitorhandbook. However, exhibitors are cautioned that the current rulesand regulations of the Eastern Idaho State Fair, as interpreted by theFair Board, take precedence over this listing due to the possibility oftypographical error or inadvertent omission.
In the event of conflict between the general rules and the specialrules governing the various departments, the special rules will takeprecedence.
The Board reserves the final and absolute right to interpret theserules and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters,questions and differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of,connected with or incident to the Fair. The Board reserves the right toamend or add to these rules, as it, in its judgment, may deemadvisable.1. Entries in all departments, unless otherwise specified, are open to
the world.2. Entry form, completely and properly filled out, must be submitted
in all livestock departments on or before the closing date specified. Mail to: Eastern Idaho State Fair Box 250 Blackfoot, Idaho 83221Exhibits will be rejected unless entry forms have been received.Exhibitors of livestock will be required to give the name andregistration numbers of both sire and dam.

to the animal or article. The Superintendents of the variousdepartments will assign stalls, pens, and exhibit space.
4. The Board of Directors and management reserve the right toaccept entries after closing dates, if good and sufficientreason for the delay is given, and also reserve the right tooffer classifications and premiums for any recognized breedsof livestock, or other exhibits, at their discretion.
5. The management or department superintendent reserves theright to reject any exhibit offered if it is objectionable in anyway, if it requires an excessive amount of space, or if thecapacity of the department has been reached.
6. Exhibitors must attend to the delivery in person or by agent ofarticles or animals for exhibition to the DepartmentSuperintendent and must claim their exhibits at the close ofthe Fair. DO NOT SEND EXHIBITS BY FREIGHT ORPARCEL POST TO THE FAIR OR TO ANY OF ITSOFFICERS.
7. All competitive exhibits must be in place as specified in thegeneral rules of each department. Exhibits will be releasedfrom 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on the Sunday following thefair. No exhibits will be released before 10:00 a.m. on Sundayfollowing the fair, unless otherwise provided for in departmentspecial rules. Competitive exhibits which are not claimedwithin one week after the close of the Fair will be consideredto have been abandoned by the exhibitor and will be disposedof as the Fair Manager sees fit.
8. Exhibitors having space assigned them will not be permittedto change to another location without first having obtainedpermission from the Superintendent of the Department, underpenalty of forfeiture of premiums.
9. The District Fair will not pay a cash premium on any articlesnot specifically mentioned in the Premium List. Such articlesmay be accepted by the Superintendent of the Department forexhibition. The Judge’s book shall be evidence of payment ofpremiums. Ribbons and cards are not acceptable.
10. Animals exhibited or brought to the fairgrounds must bedisease free and drug free and kept clean at all times.Acceptance of all animals is subject to a veterinarian’sapproval.
11. Exhibitors must in all cases be the bona fide owners ofarticles or animals exhibited by them, except where otherwisespecified. A transfer of ownership for the purpose of exhibitingwill debar any animal or article and operate against thepayment of premiums offered by the Eastern Idaho State Fair.
12. Should it be found that a premium has been obtained by falseevidence, or misrepresentation, or a violation of the generalrules or special rules governing the department, all premiumswill be withheld.
13. Competition is defined as a contest for supremacy betweentwo or more animals, products, or articles owned by separateexhibitors. Two exhibits entered by the same person orhousehold do not constitute competition. When a communityinterest in the ownership of animals or articles is apparent inthe judgment of the Board, competition will be considered notto exist, although the actual ownership might be separate.
14. No animal or article deemed unworthy shall be awarded apremium. But no premiums shall be withheld merely becausethere is no competition. Decision of the Judge will be final. Noawards will be made for champions where there is nocompetition.
15. Exhibitors may make as many entries in each class asdesired, except as specified in the special rules of eachdepartment, but no exhibitor will be allowed more than twopremiums in any one class. Entry fees will not be refunded to“no shows” unless prior notice is given.
16. No animal or article may compete in more than one class ordivision, nor for more than one premium, except as one of apair, group, or championships, or except as otherwisespecified in special rules of departments.
17. Exhibitors making entries and not exhibiting shall forfeit any entryfee and exhibitors’ tickets.
18. Premiums will be designated by ribbons, as follows:

19. No director of this Fair shall act as Judge in any class, nor shallany exhibitor in any given class act as Judge for that class.
20. The Judges will be expected, if called upon, to give the reasonsfor their decisions, embracing the value and desirable qualities ofthe animals or articles to which the awards were made.
21. Prior to the judging each Superintendent will inspect all exhibits inhis department to determine if they are entered in the class inwhich they should compete. If the Superintendent and exhibitorcannot reach an agreement to the classification, it shall bereported to the management. Classification will then be made bya committee appointed by the Manager, whose decision shall befinal. In cases where it is obvious that entries are not correctlyentered, the change may be made by the Superintendent of thedepartment for adjustment.
22. If there is any question during the judging as to the regularity ofany entry, or the right of an exhibitor to compete in any class, thejudge shall report it immediately to the Superintendent of thedepartment for adjustment.
23. Awards will be made according to the merits of the exhibit. If nocompetition exists or if an article is not worthy of 1st premium, thejudge may disqualify or award 2nd, 3rd or 4th premiums at hisdiscretion. Only one of each placing in any one class will beawarded.
24. Any person attempting to influence the judges in their decisionsin any manner will forfeit all premiums awarded and will beexcluded from all competition and exhibition. No person will bepermitted in the ring during judging except the Award Committee,the officer of the fair, and the necessary attendants.
25. All protests must be submitted in writing, setting forth grounds forprotest. Protest against the exhibition of any articles or animalmust be filed with the Manager of the Fair at least twenty-fourhours before the awards are made. Protests against the awardsmust be filed with the Manager not later than 4:00 p.m. of the dayfollowing that upon which the awards were made. The Committeeat its first meeting will consider protests after the filing of theprotest. Parties interested will be notified by the Manager andopportunity given them to submit evidence. In every case ofprotest the party protesting must deposit with the Manager thesum of $25.00, which sum shall in the event of the protest beingsustained, be returned to the complainant, and if the protest is notsustained, the said sum shall be forfeited to the Eastern IdahoState Fair.
26. Each exhibitor or concessionaire will be solely responsible for anyconsequential or other loss, injury or damage done to oroccasioned by, or arising from, any animal or articles exhibited byhim, and shall indemnify the Eastern Idaho District Fair against alllegal proceedings in regard thereto. Said District Fair will takereasonable precautions to ensure the safety of exhibits andproperty of every description entered for competition or display, orany other purpose, while anywhere on the grounds that shall besubject to the control of the Eastern Idaho District Fair, but theowners themselves must take the risk of exhibiting them. In nocase will the Eastern Idaho District Fair be responsible in any wayfor any loss, damage or injury of any character to any property,article, animal or person while the same are on the fairgrounds,or at any other time or place nor be liable for or make anypayment for damage, loss or injury. Presentation of articles or

animals for exhibition, and entrance upon said fairgroundsshould be deemed acceptance of this rule.
27. The Eastern Idaho District Fair will not be responsible for anyloss or damage caused by or arising out of strikes, riots,lockouts, or act of God.
28. Exhibitors of animals, machinery in motion, and other exhibitsliable to occasional accidents, injury or damage to personscoming in contact therewith, shall guard their exhibits andprotect the public from coming in contact therewith, and everyexhibitor shall indemnify the Eastern Idaho District Fair from andagainst all claims and demands, costs, charges and expenseswhich it may incur, suffer or be put to, by reason of any exhibitnot properly guarded or the public not being properly guardedthere from. Presentation of entry forms, or agreement on verbalor written concession contract shall be deemed acceptance ofthis rule.
29. Attendants at exhibits and concessions must be neatly attiredand will be required to conduct themselves in a quiet and orderlymanner. Dogs or pet animals will not be permitted on groundsunless they are involved in competition.
30. Sales of exhibits may be made for delivery at the close of theFair, but no exhibit may be removed until after 10:00 a.m. of theSunday following the Fair.
31. Ample light is furnished to all buildings. If additional light orpower is required, all wiring and power must be furnished by theconsumer and wired under supervision of the Fair’s electrician.
32. No person or exhibitor will be permitted to distribute printed oradvertising matter, or put up signs on the grounds other than atthe space allotted to exhibitors for that purpose. The use ofgongs, bells or other noisy instruments for the purpose ofattracting attention is prohibited on the fairgrounds.
33. Exhibits winning premiums in the 4-H Club crop projects andFuture Farmers crop divisions shall not be eligible for entry inopen classes.
34. Owing to limited space available, no loose hay or straw will beallowed on the grounds. Anyone wishing to do so may bring hisown hay or straw, if baled. Baled hay and straw will be availableon the grounds at reasonable prices.
35. Trucks and trailers cannot be parked in the vicinity of thelivestock buildings, but must be parked on space designated.Feed and bedding must be unloaded before 10:00 a.m.
36. A limited number of parking spaces with electrical hookups forlivestock exhibitors will be available. Reservations for thesespaces must be made before the fair and parking permitspurchased from the main office. The cost is $120.00. Parkingbehind the Pavilion without electrical will be $80.
37. Trucks for removal of commercial exhibits from Commercial andAgricultural buildings will not be permitted on grounds until 9:00a.m. Sunday, after fair.
38. A signed purchase order for all supplies must be obtained fromthe Manager.
39. No bills will be audited or paid during the Fair except labor bills.All claims against the District Fair must be presented within tendays after closing date of the Fair. All bills must be presentedbefore October 31, 2011.
40. Cash premiums will be paid on all departments except livestock.These cash premiums will be paid Monday through Saturdayduring fair week. A photo ID will be required when picking upcash premiums. Premiums will only be paid to the individual
entering. Premiums paid to children can be picked up by the
child or a parent/guardian who shows a photo ID. Individual
entering items for clubs, schools or group homes require
prior approval from the Dept. Superintendent or Fair
Management in order to receive premiums for those
individuals. Any cash premiums not picked up by September30, 2011 will be forfeited. Notice of any errors or omissions inpremium monies must be reported to the fair office by October31, 2011, or money will not be paid. All premium checks issued
for the livestock departments must be cashed on or beforeDecember 20, 2011.
41. The Fair Board reserves the right to refuse admittance orremove from the grounds any animals showing symptoms ofillness or disease, and all unmanageable animals which mayendanger the public safety or damage property.
42. Exhibitors must abide by the Rules, or entry will be rejected bythe Department Superintendent.
43. The Fair is not responsible for merchants’ default on specialprizes.
44. Use of any unauthorized drugs and/or tranquilizers in animals isstrictly prohibited; withdrawal times for licensed products mustbe followed. All animals entered in the Eastern Idaho Fair aresubject to testing. Should a violation be suspected, all cashproceeds will be held until the issue is resolved. A confirmedviolation may result in forfeiture of awards, sale proceeds, andprohibition from future participation in Open Class livestockdepartments or Junior livestock projects. Exhibitor may also beasked to remove animal from fairgrounds. The Board ofDirectors of the Eastern Idaho State Fair has adopted theInternational Association of Fairs and Expositions Code of ShowRing Ethics, a copy of which is on file at the fair office.
45. rULeS of the arena
1. Exhibitors shall not attach evidence of previous awards to anyarticle or animal. The only ribbons that may be displayed arethose won at this year’s Eastern Idaho State Fair.
2. Exhibitors of livestock must learn from the Superintendent thehours of judging, parade, and the time to be ready.
3. Exhibitors must make entries with the distinct understandingthat stock must be brought to the show ring for awards, for stockjudging, and parades at the request of the Superintendent.
4. All exhibitors and their helpers are required to carry theregistration certificates for each animal into the show arena.
5. Disrespect shown to any award or to any Judge by an exhibitorforfeits all awards made to him.
6. The management requires that all exhibitors of livestock complywith the health regulations set forth in the special rules of eachDepartment.
7. Every exhibitor of livestock is expected to keep his pens andstalls clean and sanitary. Stalls and pens must be cleaned by8:00 a.m. each day and refuse disposed of as theSuperintendent may direct.
8. An additional fee will be charged for late entries.9. Signs placed in stalls advertising animals for sale are prohibited.
Business cards may be made available.10. Night watchman sleeping in barns must have their area cleared

All animal and poultry entries from out-of-state must be accompaniedby a health certificate issued within 30 days of entry and must beapproved by the Idaho Bureau of Animal Health. All animals and poultrymust be free of any evidence of clinical disease. All animals and poultryentered are subject to inspection at the fairgrounds by the DepartmentSuperintendent or the Fair Veterinarian. In any animal where there isevidence of disease, including but not limited to: coughing, excessiveoral or nasal discharge, eye discharge, lameness, diarrhea, or externalparasites, the animal may be isolated for further examination or entrymay be refused. In all cases, the decision of the Veterinarian willprevail. Animals that develop clinical evidence of disease after enteringthe fairgrounds may not be shown and shall be subject to isolation orexpulsion, depending on the nature of seriousness of the diseasesymptoms. The Veterinarian will make the decision. In all cases the reference will be the IDaho DePartment ofaGrIcULtUre Rules Governing Animal Industries, which will be usedto determine the eligibility of animals entering the fairgrounds. CATTLE: All females must have been previously vaccinated forBrucellosis and have a legible tattoo in the right ear. Special attentionwill be given to an animal having an oral and/or nasal discharge, whichis a possible sign of Vesicular Stomatitis. These animals and all otheranimals in the consignment will be refused entry until the cause of thedischarge is determined. HORSES, MULES AND ASSES: Of special concern are animals withnasal discharge and/or coughing. Vesicular Stomatitis is manifested inhorses mainly by lameness and moist ulcers of the feet.SHEEP: Of special concern shall be contagious ecthema (sore mouth)and foot rot.SWINE: All breeding stock swine must meet the requirement forbrucellosis and pseudo-rabies, and must be free of external parasites.Show and slaughter swine must meet the requirement for generalsoundness.LLAMAS, EMU, OSTRICH, POULTRY, PIGEONS, AND RABBITS: Allanimals shall be generally in good health and free of external parasites.

Animals entered in the Eastern Idaho State Fair for show which aresold for breeding purposes will be subject to the rules and regulationsof the State of Idaho Division of Animal Industry, and the rules of thestate of destination if it is out of Idaho. Health certificates and permitsfor such transactions must be obtained from a local practicingveterinarian.
conceSSIonS anD commercIaL exhIbItS
1. The Board of Directors of the District Fair will authorize the lettingof space for the sale of such merchandise as is required to supplythe necessary wants of the people or that may add to theircomfort, convenience and pleasure, but under no circumstanceswill merchandise of a questionable nature or of a demoralizingtendency be sold or in any manner tolerated on the grounds or inthe buildings.
2. No person or exhibitor will be permitted to distribute printed oradvertising matter, solicit funds, or put up signs on the fairgroundsother than at the space allotted to them for that purpose. The useof gongs, bells, or other noisy instruments for the purpose ofattracting attention is prohibited on the grounds. If P.A. systems,organs, pianos, or other instruments are used, the volume mustbe kept low enough that neighboring exhibitors are not disturbed.
3. Booths and any attachments, stairs, platforms, etc., must staywithin the assigned space. All aisles and walkways must be kept
clear of any obstacles.
4. Only persons receiving written contract for concession or exhibit
space will be allowed to exhibit. These persons are required to
sign a written contract and make a monetary deposit with the
Manager of the District Fair before being allowed to transact any
business on the fairgrounds.
5. All concessions are required to comply with the State, County,
and City food and health laws, and to secure a city license in the
City Hall in Blackfoot.
6. All exhibits should comply with the fire code, particularly booths
constructed of highly flammable material.
7. Dining halls, lunch booths, refreshment stands and other booths
selling food are required to be neat, clean and substantially
built. Food and drinks must be wholesome and at reasonable
prices. aLL PrIceS mUSt be PromInentLy PoSteD anDaPProVeD by the manaGement of the DIStrIctfaIr. The contract must list the items being sold.
8. All deliveries of supplies must be made before 10:00 a.m. each
day.
9. All sewers will be cleaned and operational prior to the fair. The
cost of repairs for any plugging or stoppage in the sewer lines
will be charged to the concessionaire or concessionaires who
are using the drain or caused the drain to become plugged.
10. No additional power requirements will be granted without prior
consent of the fairground electrician.
11. Any occupation of areas not assigned for a specific exhibit must
be approved by the management prior to use.
12. All food concessions must have an adequate fire extinguisher in
their booth.
eLectrIcaL SerVIce charGeS
All electrical work must be done under the supervision of thegrounds’ electrician.
RATES: Hourly charge for labor with a minimum of $20.00 for eachservice. $8.00 per Kilowatt for all appliances or exhibitsconnected, regardless of use.
Commercial exhibitors will be allowed one kW free of charge for eachbooth or space; all additional will be charged for at the above rate.

1. Entry fee: $25.00. Entries must be in by10:00 a.m. Wednesday. All teams mustweigh in and be matched between 6:00 and10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Drawing for positionwill be held immediately following weigh in.Contest will start at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.Special entry forms and complete rules forthese matches may be obtained from theSuperintendent or the fair office.
2. All pulls will be made according to classes. 3. Ropes will be spaced 14 ft. apart. A qualified pull is 20 ft. between
the ropes. 4. There may be a 2-minute rest period between each pull. If a driver
unhooks he must wait until other contestants have qualified in turnfor his last pull. There will be a maximum of 8 pulls in each weight.
5. The beginning weights will be started at Lights - 3000 lbs, Middles- 3500 lbs and Heavy - 4000 lbs. Additional weights will be addedat the discretion of the first driver in each weight class, unless theground conditions are bad, then the judge will decide. Theminimum amount of weight that can be added is 300 lbs.
6. Distance will be measured from the point the chain is attached tothe boat. The driver has the right to check the measurement.
7. The driver has the right to mismatch teams. This must be turnedinto the secretary before the draw for position.
8. The first place winner has the right to move up to the next weightclass. Other teams will be allowed to move up with the permissionof the judge. HE OR SHE MUST PULL UNTIL THEIR TEAM ISSTUCK.
9. Offset double trees are permissible.10. Any time a call is made to the team, it will be considered a pull.
The judge will decide.11. All teams must remain in order and be on deck or they will lose
that pull.12. No team will be allowed to leave the arena while participating in
their respective class.13. The pulls will be in the same direction until the flag at the end of
the lane is reached by any portion of the boat excluding the hookchain. At this time the judge will reverse the boat. On the lastweight all teams will pull in the same direction. After the first pullby all teams on the last weight, if there is not enough distance topull all teams in the same direction on the second attempt of thelast weight the boat will be reversed at that time. THE JUDGEWILL DETERMINE IT.
14. A team must start the match with blinds on or off. No change willbe made during the contest.
15. Teamsters will ride on or walk beside the stoneboat.16. Any unusual or necessitating circumstances will be decided by the
judge.17. The hookers must stay behind the double trees and are not
allowed to touch, hiss or otherwise encourage the team in anyway.
18. At any time the driver stops his or her team all eight feet of theteam must be within the ropes or the pull will be disqualified.
19. If a new lane is necessary for the next class, the judge willdetermine it.
20. Pullers will be allowed 2 minutes to hook for each pull. If extra timeis taken, the pull will be lost. Contestant breaking downautomatically goes to the end of the line.
21. No whipping or hitting of horses will be permitted. 22. There are no restrictions on feed and water. Contestants can feed
and water when and as they please in any amount desired.23. Eastern Idaho State Fair stone boat on runners will be used for all
classes. The Superintendent will be in charge of added weight.
24. Only one driver and no assistants allowed ahead of the boat afterthe pull starts.
25. Owners of entries may purchase an Exhibitor’s Ticket for personaluse at a cost of $20.00 for the whole week, or $10.00 for a half-week. Grooms or men actually in charge will also have to procuretickets.
26. Pullers using stalls must vacate on Wednesday by 3:00 p.m. If stallsare needed, contact the fair office by August 19.
27. Out of state horses must have a health certificate and are requiredto have a negative Coggin’s test within the last 6 months. copy ofcurrent health certificate must be provided to the Livestockoffice on entry to the fairgrounds.
28. A committee and Management will determine allocation of specialprizes.
29. The Superintendent’s decision is final.30. There will be no alcohol allowed.
A meeting will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. for all pullers.

are not refundable. All substitute exhibits MUST be entered at the
Livestock office by 12:00 p.m. Monday in order to show. Late
entries only by approval of Superintendent. An additional fee of
$5.00 will be charged for late entries. BOOKS WILL BE CLOSED
AND NO CHANGES MAY BE MADE AFTER 6:00 P.M. MONDAY.
Exhibitors may purchase an exhibitor’s ticket for $20.00 for a full
week or $10.00 for a half-week. Payment for exhibitor tickets must
accompany entry. Grooms or persons actually in charge of
livestock entered may also purchase exhibitor’s tickets, but no
more than 1 ticket will be allowed for each animal entered.
Previous year exhibitors have priority on keeping there assigned
stalls, barring unforeseen circumstances. An exhibitor will continue
to have the choice to keep the assigned stalls as long as he/she
exhibits at the fair.
2. Entry forms list name and registration numbers of animals entered
and names and registration numbers of sire and dam.
3. Animal cannot be entered in more than ONE division.
4. Exhibitor must furnish own harness hooks.
5. Two horses per stall unless otherwise approved by the
superintendent. All animals stalled have to be shown and all
animals shown have to be stalled for Hitches and Draft Horse
halter classes. No loose horses allowed in show arena.
6. Exhibits must be on the grounds by 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
7. Halter show exhibitors may make as many entries in each class as
desired, but no exhibitor will be allowed more than 2 premiums in
any one class.
8. The only ribbons that may be displayed are those won at this
year’s Eastern Idaho State Fair.
9. Stalls must be cleaned by 8:00 a.m. each day, 4 inches of sawdust
per stall, all stalls must be stripped each day and refuse disposed
of as the Superintendent may direct.
10. Trucks and trailers CANNOT be parked in the vicinity of the
livestock exhibit buildings but must be parked in space designated
by the General Livestock Superintendent. All cars, trucks and
trailers must be out of the barn area by 10:00 a.m. each day of the
fair.
11. No livestock will be released before 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, the last
day of the Fair.
12. Ages must be computed from January 1st.
13. Each exhibitor will be assigned one (1) specific number. This will
be used in the show arena. If exhibitor has more than 1 entry in a
class, the number will have and A, B, C, etc., added.
14. Judge may allow points for personal appearance of exhibitor. It
would be advisable for all exhibitors to have a clean and neat
appearance when showing animals.
15. Due to safety concerns, all stallions except in foal class, must be
handled by men. Neck ropes and halters are required on stallions
1 year and older.

1. Entries close August 19. An entry fee of $10.00 per head will be charged for
individual classes and $10.00 per entry for group classes. Fees required for
both mares and colts. Remittance for entries and exhibitor's tickets must
accompany entry. Entry fees are not refundable. All substitute exhibits
MUST be entered at the Livestock office by 12:00 p.m. Monday in order to
show. Late entries only by approval of Superintendent. An additional fee of
$5.00 will be charged for late entries. BOOKS WILL BE CLOSED AND NO
CHANGES MAY BE MADE AFTER 6:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY. Exhibitors may
purchase an exhibitor's ticket for $20.00 for a full week or $10.00 for a half
week. Grooms or persons actually in charge of livestock entered may also
purchase exhibitor's tickets, but no more than 1 ticket will be allowed for
each animal entered.
2. Entry forms must list name and registration numbers of animals entered and
names and registration numbers of sire and dam. All exhibitors and their
helpers are required to carry the registration certificates for each animal into
the show arena.
3. Animal cannot be entered in more than ONE division.
4. Exhibitor must furnish own harness hooks.
5. Stalls may be requested for full week, but may not be available.
6. All animals need to be tied with neck ropes on studs.
7. Exhibitors may make as many entries in each class as desired, but no
exhibitor will be allowed more than two premiums in any one class.
8. The only ribbons that may be displayed are those won at this year's Eastern
Idaho State Fair.
9. Stalls must be cleaned by 8:00 a.m. each day and refuse disposed of as the
Superintendent may direct.

10. Trucks and trailers CANNOT be parked in the vicinity of the livestock
exhibit buildings but must be parked in space designated by the
Superintendent. All cars, trucks and trailers must be out of the barn
area by 10:00 a.m. each day of the fair.
11. Ages must be computed from January 1st.
12. Exhibitors must have correct entry number with them in show arena.
13 Judge may allow points for personal appearance of exhibitor. It would
be advisable for all exhibitors to have a clean and neat appearance
when showing animals.
14. Out-of-state horses must have a health certificate and a negative
Coggin's test within the last 6 months. Copy of current Health
Certificate must be provided to Livestock Office on entry to the
fairgrounds.

1. All entry fees must be paid before event. All entrymoney over stock charge will go toward prizes andpurse money.
2. Each County Fair that holds a team sorting, branding orpenning event will be eligible to send one (1) team perevent to the E.I.S.F. For Bonneville and BannockCounties that have (2) county fairs, (1) qualifying teamswill be allowed. All other slots will be filled by E.I.T.P.B.A.
3. Those counties having more than one (1) fair will have to designate whichfair will send a team to the E.I.S.F. finals. All counties that have qualifyingteams must send names to Tony & Debbie Gregory (208) 852-3377 no laterthan August 19. Top qualifying teams from each qualified event are eligibleto participate.
4. Each qualifying event should submit the first four places.5. There shall be one (1) Idaho riders per team.6. Any person wishing to bid on supplying cattle must call Tony & Debbie
Gregory before August 1st. Cattle must be fresh and have not been usedin any other event in the last 60 days.
7. No team can represent the same qualifying event more than once.8. Any contestant verbally harassing any official or volunteer appointed by the
Superintendent will be banned from future shows. (To file a protest adeposit of $100 will be required. See EITPBA rules #19)
9. Only trucks and trailers with horses are allowed to park on the infield forthese events. Cars will be not be permitted to park on the infield.
IDaho State team SortInG fInaLS1. Entry fee of $60 per person2. Each team will consist of 3 riders.3. Only those teams having won an approved county team sorting event are

left blank.5. An individual may compete twice at the finals.6. The overall winners will be placed on both go-rounds on total number of
cattle across line plus total time.7. There will be two 90 second go-rounds.8. There will be a fast time on each go. The winner will receive $90 for their

All western classes require western tack and clothing. English classes requireEnglish attire (e.g., saddle suit for saddleseat classes) and English tack. Any tackand clothing is acceptable for open classes as long as the clothing and tack areconsistent (e.g., no mixing of western bridle, Aussie saddle, T-shirts, and Panamahat).
Anyone riding any attire other than English must use a leverage (shank) bit andone hand on the reins; horses 5 and under in a snaffle bit may be ridden with twohands. One finger (index) may be placed between split reins. Romal reins may notbe split by a finger on the rein hand; romal to be held at least 16 inches from therein hand.
Novice defines a horse or rider who has never won a blue ribbon prior to thisshow.
It is recommended that Juveniles 17 and under must wear a safety helmet in allclasses. Helmets are optional for adults in any and all classes. EIGHA has helmetsavailable upon request; otherwise headgear should be appropriate to the attire.
Prohibited items: training aids of any kind, such as but not limited to, tiedowns,running martingales, dropped cavesons; action devices such as chains or rollers,or shoes heavier than a traditional lite shoe (3/4 inch wide, 3/8 inch thick, 1 inchturnback). “Feet must be no longer than 4 ½ “.Determination of prohibited items is at the discretion of the judge and/or the showcommittee.
