Patrons and Supporters Friday 24 June 2011 Private view of Stanley Spencer and the English garden and ‘Capability’ Brown and the landscapes of middle England exhibitions at Compton Verney. Patrons and Supporters Thursday 7 July 2011 Visit to The Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham, where Compton Verney’s group will enjoy a ‘walk and talk’ tour of the gallery and village. Participants will then have lunch at their own choice of venue in Cookham before visiting Sandham Memorial Chapel near Burghclere to view the extraordinary murals by Spencer. The group will be given a tour of the artworks and separately, the grounds. This trip is designed to coincide with CV’s Stanley Spencer and the English garden exhibition, which opens on 25 June. Drinks in our Naples galleries followed by a meal in the Adam Hall. Patrons only Thursday 6 - Sunday 9 October 2011 Overseas visit to Dresden including a walking tour of Dresden’s historic centre, a journey through the Elbe River Valley by paddle steamer and visits to the recently restored and re-consecrated Frauenkirche church, the Gardens of Pillnitz Park and the Historic Green Vault of Dresden’s Royal Castle. The group will also enjoy a guided tour of the Altmeister Gallery (Old Masters Gallery) which includes works by Raphael, Titian, Rubens, Rembrandt and altarpieces by Lucas Cranach the Elder. The party will then visit the New Masters Picture Gallery to view their collection, which spans the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and includes examples of German Romanticism and both German and French Impressionism. Includes five star hotel accommodation. Patrons to arrange their own flights. Patrons only Friday 14 October 2011 Private View of our Quentin Blake: As large as life and Remember, remember, the 5 th of November: a history of British fireworks exhibitions at Compton Verney. Patrons and Supporters Thursday 3 November 2011 Visit to the recently reopened Holburne Museum in Bath to see a preview of the Gainsborough landscapes exhibition, which will be on display in Spring 2012. Compton Verney’s party will first enjoy lunch at The Holburne Museum, before their Director, Dr Alexander Sturgis, gives a tour of the exhibition, which will be followed by either free Patrons and Supporters Priority given to Patrons

Compton Verney’s party will first enjoy lunch at The Holburne Museum, before their Director, Dr Alexander Sturgis, gives a tour of the exhibition, which will be followed by either free time in Bath or an optional architectural walk with Dr Steven Parissien. This will be followed by optional afternoon tea at the Royal Crescent Hotel. Includes return coach travel from CV.
