Every great achievement starts with a dream. We know because we see dreams made real every single day. Whatever your interests, whatever your goals, you’ll be given every opportunity to pursue them, with success, at Holy Family University.

Founded in 1954 by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Holy Family University is a comprehensive four-year university based in Philadelphia. About half of the University’s 3,500 students are enrolled on a full- or part-time basis in the traditional undergraduate program. More than 45 degree programs are avail-able from four schools: Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Education, and Nursing & Allied Health Professions. Con-tinuing education and accelerated degree programs are offered by the Division of Extended Learning.

The University is based at the Northeast Philadelphia Campus, which serves as home of the traditional undergraduate program and offers courses in the gradu-ate program. The Northeast Philadelphia Campus also offers student housing for full-time undergraduates.

Respect for the individual, the dignity of the human person. Inspired by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth who founded the University, these values are at the very core of our institution. They are values that are taught here, but even more, they are values that are lived here. Our concern for moral values and social justice guides our programs and enriches everything that we do.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Confer-ence is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecti-cut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (NY) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Feli-cian College, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University, University of the Sciences and Wilmington University.

The CACC was founded in 1961. A meet-ing of eight schools was arranged and host-ed by Norm Wilhelmi, Athletic Director at The King's (NY) College. The meeting resulted in the forming a new conference, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The conference included eight original members in the fall of 1961. They were Bloomfield College, Dowling College, The King's College, Marist College, Monmouth College, Nyack College, C.W. Post College and Southampton College.

After years of transition and member-ship changes, NAIA members Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Dominican College, Georgian Court College, Nyack College, Teikyo- Post University and St. Thomas Aquinas College made applica-tion to the NCAA Division II. The seven schools applied for membership in the fall of 1998. In 2002 the CACC qualified for NCAA Division II Provisional Conference Status and it achieved Active Status in July of 2004. Six schools: Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Dominican College, Feli-cian College, Georgian Court College and Post University, became full Division II members in 2002-03. Holy Family College, Goldey-Beacom College, Nyack College and University of the Sciences in Phila-delphia became active DII members in 2003-04, followed by Wilmington College in 2004-05.

During the span from 1999-2009, the conference underwent numerous changes in addition to upgrading to Division II. In 1999, St. Thomas Aquinas left the conference and five new members joined. Felician College, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family College, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Wilmington College, all NAIA schools, immediately ap-

plied for Division II status upon becoming members. In 2000, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) boosted the member-ship to 12 schools and that number grew to 13 in 2005 as Philadelphia University started active membership. NJIT moved on to Division I status after the 2005-06 season. The addition of Chestnut Hill College in 2007 and Concordia College in 2009 brought the CACC to 14 members. Only four conferences in Division II have more members.

The CACC currently offers 13 champion-ship sports, including men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's and wom-en's tennis, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's golf and women's lacrosse. Currently, nine of the CACC's season-ending tournaments lead to automatic NCAA qualifications, includ-ing women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's bas-ketball, softball, baseball and men's golf.

With its ascent to active Division II status, the Conference made major improvements by introducing a new website and logo. Both were unveiled in July of 2004. The website, www.caccathletics.org, contains updated stats, schedules, results, photos and news about all 14 member schools. The site underwent a complete redesign in the summer of 2009 and is scheduled for another in 2012.

The CACC adopted its current logo from a design submitted by Royal Rooster Design of Iowa. In 2009, the CACC commissioned seperate logos for each conference sport and in 2010 added championship tourna-ment logos for all sports. A 50th Anniver-sary Logo was created for the 2011-2012 academic year. The logos are trademarked through an agreement with Strategic Marketing Alliance (SMA) to protect and market the CACC marks.

Off the court and field, the CACC and its student-athletes take pride in the balance between academics and athletics. The CACC finished third nationally among Division II Conferences for the gradua-tion rate of its student-athletes, according to the latest NCAA report. Furthermore, the conference established its inaugural All-Academic team in the fall of 2004 and

the number of names on the list continues to grow each year. The CACC honored 285 scholar-athletes in 2010-2011.

The CACC has also become one of the national leaders in the annual Division II Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraiser. The 13 CACC schools raised $12,218 in 2008-09, the eighth-highest total in Division II.

Division II is composed of 23 confer-ences and seven independent institutions ranging from coast-to-coast-and beyond. Division II is the only NCAA member-ship division with programs in Alaska and Puerto Rico. Furthermore, four of the five colleges on Hawaii are members of Divi-sion II.

Head Coach R.C. Kehoe

R.C. Kehoe will be entering his second season at the helm of the Holy Fam-ily University men’s basketball team in 2012-13. On April 8, 2011, Kehoe became the fifth ever head men’s basketball coach in Holy Family University history. A Philadelphia native, Kehoe joined the Tigers with nearly a decade of collegiate coaching experience. He spent five years as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level with the University of Delaware. In his first season with Holy Family, Kehoe guided the team to their best finish since the 2007-08 season. The Tigers finished 12-14 overall and 8-9 in conference play and as a result qualified for the CACC Tournament for the first time since the 2008-09 season. The team had three players selected to the All-CACC team. In addition, senior Rickie Crews led the nation with 3.85 blocks per game and was only one of two players to block 100 shots during the year in Division II.

Kehoe completed his fifth season with the Delaware men’s basketball pro-gram after the 2010-11 season in which he helped guide the Blue Hens to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship Quarterfinals. Kehoe began his stint as part of the Delaware staff in 2006-2007 under first year head coach Monté Ross.

While at Delaware, Kehoe served as the recruiting coordinator and handled the scheduling of non-conference opponents. He also assisted in the scout-ing of opponents and was in charge of organizing and monitoring the team budget, in addition to his on-court coaching responsibilities. Kehoe also directed individual instruction sessions for the players and assisted in sum-mer basketball camps.

Prior to his arrival at Delaware, Kehoe was an assistant coach at the Univer-sity of Maryland-Baltimore County in 2005-06. He joined the UMBC staff under head coach Randy Monroe in the summer of 2005. While at UMBC, Kehoe assisted in recruiting, scouting of opponents and scheduling. He also directed individual instruction sessions for the team and coordinated weekly academic meetings with the players.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in speech communications from NCAA Division II Shippensburg University in 2004 after competing collegiately at Clarion University in 1997-1999 and East Stroudsburg University in 1999-2001.

While at Clarion, Kehoe led the team in assists in 1998-99 and was second in 1997-98. He also was fourth in steals both seasons. The Golden Eagles reached the PSAC playoffs each year while he was a member of the team. During his playing days at East Stroudsburg, Kehoe was team captain and also broke the school record for three-point field goals made in a season with 66. He also assisted the coaching staff with film exchange and scouting.

Kehoe began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Shippensburg from 2002-2004. From there, Kehoe moved up to the NCAA Division I level in 2004-2005 at St. Francis University as an assistant coach.

A native of Philadelphia, Kehoe was a four-year member of the Roman Catholic boys basketball team. The team won the Philadelphia Catholic League Championship three times (1993, 1994 & 1996). From 1993-1996 the team finished in the Top-25 in the USA Today rankings.

Kehoe and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons Tyler and Jaxon, and two daugh-ters, Paityn and Brooklyn.

2012-13 Season Outlook

Tigers Ready for the Next Step; Eye Second Straight Postseason Appearance in 2012-13

Holy Family will have its sights set for big things this year after coming off the team’s best season since 2007-08. Under the guidance of second year head coach R.C. Kehoe, the Tigers will look to copy last year’s success and take the next step in their quest for a conference championship. Holy Family is coming off a year that saw the Tigers record their best finish since the 2007-08 season, wrapping up the year with a 12-14 record. Holy Family qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament for the first time since 2009 as the Tigers earned the eighth seed after finishing 8-9 in confer-ence play. Holy Family returns seven players from last year’s squad, includ-ing All-CACC selections in senior Khiry Hankins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day School) and junior Alberto Munoz (Morris-ville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons). This year’s roster will also feature six newcomers. Hankins, who earned All-CACC (third team) honors for the first time in his career last season, finished the year averaging 16.8 points per game, which was sixth best in the CACC. He also fin-ished third in the conference for most three-pointers made with 81. Munoz supplied the Tigers with an additional deep threat from beyond the arc as he averaged a career-best 14.9 points per game, while knocking down 58 three-pointers.

Hankins and Munoz are just a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to the Tigers’ guard play. Holy Family is loaded at the guard position as each player brings something different to the table. “The strength of most Division II teams are their backcourt,” said Kehoe. “We will be no different. When you could put four guys on the floor like we can with Khiry [Hankins], Angel [Ayala], Al-berto [Munoz] and Ervin [Ezell] it gives us multiple weapons that can shoot and beat the opponent off the dribble.” In his first season with the Tigers, Ayala appeared in all 26 games and started 14. He averaged 9.8 points per game and dished out a team-high 75 assists. He also grabbed 7.7 rebounds per contest. Holy Family also welcomes back senior Maurice Hargrove (Phila-delphia, Pa./Martin Luther King), junior Ben Savidge (Reading, Pa./Exeter) and sophomore Eric Fleming (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) at the guard position. Fleming appeared in 25 games, including 11 starts in his freshman season. He averaged 6.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He also knocked down 38 three-pointers to finish third on the team.

In the addition to Ezell, the Tigers will also have the addition of sophomore transfer Xavier Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Saul) and freshman Tuhran Griffin (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Learning Center) at the guard position.

At the forward position, Holy Family has brought in a few new weapons to help replace the presence of the nation’s top shot-blocker in Rickie Crews (Deptford, N.J./Deptford) who graduated. Last year, Crews blocked 100 shots as he led all of Division II with 3.8 blocks per game. “With the addition of Hunter [Wysocki], Isaiah [Gans] and having Richard [Council] back it gives us an extremely young but promis-ing front court,” said Kehoe. “The thing that excites me is that we recruited a front court with no mirror images. They are all different in type of skill and quality that should bode well for us throughout the season.” The Tigers will also have sophomore transfer from Drexel in Dan McMenamin (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) at the forward position to supply added depth. Williams will also see time at forward. Holy Family will face nine non-conference opponents, including six of those either on the road or at a neutral site. The Tigers competitive non-conference schedule features home games versus Molloy College (11/16), UMass Lowell (11/17) and Shaw University (11/20/12). “I made a decision when putting [our schedule] together that we would play top-level region teams in order to put ourselves in position for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament,” said Kehoe. “At the time, that was a great idea and now with [our

schedule] staring us in our face I think it was a little crazy, but as a coach you can be a little crazy with the schedule when you have a group of players committed and ready to take on any challenge.” On top of the Tigers’ challenging non-conference schedule, the team will also compete in 17 CACC contests. It’ll be a tough-competitive road for the Tigers as they look to build off last year’s success and return to the CACC Tournament. Despite the journey ahead, Kehoe feels his team is ready with a plan in place to be successful. “We have a model of 1-0,” said Kehoe on how the team is ap-proaching this season. “It is not just what we follow for games, but on a daily basis. If we could go 1-0 everyday, whether it is in the weight room, at practice or in a game, when they collect the uniforms [at the end of the year] we should be looking back at a very successful season.” Kehoe continues about the CACC, “If you look deeper into the CACC it is completely opposite than my first year. Coming into last season, nine of the 15 All-CACC selections were seniors. Now, entering the 2012-13 campaign, the number of really good returning players from top to bottom is quite frankly staggering. If all the individual players compete and play to their potential we won’t have enough slots for the amount of talent that should be recognized [on all-conference].
