Rope Information


Protecting Your Rope • Avoid running your rope over rough surfaces and

edges. And do not step on your rope, which can rub dirt and debris into your rope’s weave. Use anti‐chaffing / edge protection and Edge and Roof Rollers.

• Select the correct rope for the use, and be sure not

to overload. You can choose from a variety of ropes from manufacturers such as CMC, Sterling and New England.

• Use caution with Ultra Violet (UV) light exposure.

Some ropes are “resistant” to UV light, but it is rec‐ommended to reduce exposure.

• Use compatible hardware. Make sure rope diame‐

ters are suited for the specific hardware, such as pulleys, descenders, belay devices, etc.

• Avoid rope contact with chemical liquids and

chemical vapors. • Care for your rope. Regularly inspect rope, record

inspections with a rope log. Avoid exposure to ex‐treme heat, keep in rope bag and when rope is not safe, remove it from an “in service” status.

All Hands Fire is an authorized dealer for Chemguard Foam Chemguard supplies firefighting foam concentrates to meet a wide range of firefighting challenges, including industrial, marine, mining, municipal, oil, petrochemical, and transportation. Our aqueous film‐forming foams (AFFFs), Class A foams, wetting agents, high‐expansion foam concentrates, and protein foams are suitable for ground and air attack, creating fire‐breaks, use with compressed‐air foam systems (CAFS), and mop‐up opera‐tions. Chemguard's firefighting foams are some of the most environmentally friendly products in their class in the world. Our AFFF products have 30‐70% less fluorochemical content than other UL Listed products on the market, while our alcohol‐resistant aqueous film‐forming foam (AR‐AFFF) has the lowest and best application rate in the industry. Because of their effectiveness, Chemguard foam concentrates can achieve knockdown faster and with lower product volumes than similar agents, which can substantially lessen property damage and environmental im‐pact.

A bucket of FireIce® is capable of mixing with 250 gallons of water, the same water output will yield far more dousing power, even greater than conventional foams. FireIce® adheres to many different types of structures including Wood, Stucco and Brick.

Hazard Materials Information


Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) is the lowest amount of gas that will cause an ex‐plosion. Gas detectors vary in the level of gas that will set off an alarm (for ex‐ample, 15% of the LEL, 20% of the LEL, etc.). Detectors that sense lower levels of gas will warn you more quickly of the presence of natural gas than detectors that sense higher levels. Upper Explosive Limit (UEL) is the maximum concentration of vapor or gas in the air above which propagation of flame does not occur or contact with a source of ignition. Above the UEL there is too little oxygen to sustain a flammable mix‐ture. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) are organic compounds characterized by their tendency to evaporate easily at room temperature. Familiar substances containing VOCs include solvents, paint thinner, and nail polish remover, as well as the vapors associated with fuels such as gasoline, diesel, heating oil, kerosene, and jet fuel.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Exposure Chart Exposure at One Hour ppm = Parts Per Million

0‐9 ppm No health risk; Normal CO levels in the air

10‐29 ppm Problems over long‐term exposure; chronic CO problems such as head‐aches and nausea can occur

30‐35 ppm Flu‐like symptoms begin to develop, especially among the young and the elderly

36‐99 ppm Flu‐like symptoms among all; nausea, headaches, fatigue, drowsiness, vom‐iting. Most CO detectors will sound.

100 ppm +

Severe symptoms; confusion, intense headaches; ultimately brain damage, coma, and/or death, especially at 300‐400 ppm+
