Perhaps the observation of things has remainedmy most important formal education; forobservation later becomes transformed intomemory. Now I seem to see all the things I haveobserved arranged like tools in a neat row; theyare aligned as in a botanical chart, or a catalogue,or a dictionary. But this catalogue, lyingsomewhere between imagination and memory, isnot neutral; it always reappears in several objectsand constitutes their deformation and, in someways, their evolution.

experiments with his own limits and horizons. Thedays themselves become music. People are invitedto stop, to come and go, to go back and listenagain to experience the music in a differentdimension. Nowhere provides listening modes toenable extremely comfortable extended listening:stretched out is the best way. Unlike the usual'abnormal' way of listening to live music, here it isnot a case of watching the performer - who aspiresto disappear along with the audience -.(MortonFeldman: "my ideal audience is the dead one").Nowhere is a space that can only accommodatemusic dedicated to disappearance, to nothingness. For Bologna, Formenti thought of a chapter ofNowhere dedicated to John Cage, and entitled Inth e cage. The programm e includes as a centralmasterpiece ASLSP (As Slow As Possible), theex tended p iece of his recent 'mature' work andother pro liferations.
