“Since acquiring Bethany Beach Books as few years ago, the Chamber has been an asset. Being a member has opened doors to our involvement with the community. As a business that is open every day year round, it is essential to be proactive and in tune with the busi-ness community. The Chamber is a fantastic way to do this. Since beginning our sponsor-ships of individual Chamber events such as the Bike Tour and Arts Festival, we have been able to track a direct increase in our business due to our sponsorship and involvement. So when we were approached to become a Corporate Sponsor we were excited and eager to sign up. We look forward to a continued mutually beneficial relationship in the years to come.” -Jackie Inman, Owner Bethany Beach Books

The silent auction at this fall’s Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival raised near-ly $1,800. 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction are divided equally between our four local elementary schools to be used by their art programs. Thanks to the generosity of this year’s artists and Silent Auction Sponsor, Mediacom, for their sup-port of arts education in the Quiet Resorts and the next generation of artists.

October Membership Meeting

There’s no better time to enjoy a relaxing breakfast in downtown Bethany Beach than the fall, where you can kick back, relax and not fret about the meters. And that’s what nearly 40 members did at the October Membership Meeting at the Frog House Restaurant on Oct. 4. Members enjoyed a fantastic breakfast and learned about keeping their businesses safe year round. Officer Justin Norman, Bethany Beach Police Department, shared several tips on extra precautions local businesses can take to secure their businesses in the offsea-son and several affordable options that could result in additional security and peace mind during seasonal closures or limited hours of operation. A big thanks to Dave and the staff at the Frog House for hosting this event and to Officer Norman for sharing his expertise.

Do you spend time worrying whether or not your cleaners will show up? About whether they will do a good job this time? Frustrated leaving notes week after week about the same issues they skip? At Heather’s HomeWorks we concentrate on cleaning so you don’t have to! We always:• Arrive to clean your office or home as scheduled, we use professional, cleaning service software to schedule your service• Use ‘leave behind’ score cards & call several times a year so our clients can rate our service and provide valuable feedback• Keep track of those small details that make a big difference by using job specific work orders each visit

Let us help you put the focus on your clients. We’ll focus on the cleaning!

“I switched to Heather’s Home Work this year to clean our office and I couldn't be happier. Prior to taking us on, Heather spent time understanding our needs, including any allergies, which was a big issue with our prior service. Since we started, they call in advance, show up on time and do a great job….What else could you ask for!” - Michael Loftus, Loftus Wealth Management

The Fall Golf n’ Gab networking event, sponsored by Mercantile Processing Inc., lucked out with the weather. Nearly 30 golfers of all skill levels took to the links at Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club in Ocean View on Oct. 24 and enjoyed a beautiful day. After receiv-ing some tips from the pros on the driving range, participants partook in a nine-hole scramble and were definitely caught gabbin’ throughout the event. Congratulations to our big winners: Katie Davis, Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club (closest to the pin), Kyle Morgan, Mercantile Processing, Inc. (longest drive) and Debbie Hudson, Utility Savings Solutions (longest putt). Thanks again to Neil Maurer and the entire staff at Bear Trap Dunes for hosting the event!

October Business After HoursFollowing the Golf n’ Gab, nearly 100 members enjoyed the gorgeous fall afternoon at DiFebo’s Bistro on the Green. Members compared scorecards from the event, networking tidbits, and their fall plans throughout the event. Members who enjoyed the location, food and event were able to learn more about all three by visiting the spotlight tables: Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club, DiFebo’s Bistro on the Green and Mercantile Processing Inc. A special thanks to Lisa and the staff at the Bistro for a fantastic spread and hosting the after hours event. And another thank you to our generous members that donated door prizes that evening: Alterations & Crafts by Barbara, Automated Copy Systems and Mike’s Carpet Connection.
