Consulting, training and education for you, where you are.Meridian Technology Center develops training initiatives resulting in innovative business solutions. We are a workforce resource to area companies ranging from the small family owned operation to the large corporation.

The BIS group provides customized and specialized training related to:

Meridian provides industry training designed through needs assessment, curriculum design, skills training and diverse methods of delivery. Training and services are available during the daytime, evening and weekends.

Meridian’s BIS group has a proven record in assisting organizations with employee retention, cost control and reduction, increased productivity, increased organizational effectiveness and improved employee morale.

Business Startup CampReady to get started working on your new business or business plan? Join us for a six-hour session from 9 am to 2 pm covering questions such as: Is there a market for my business? What capital is necessary? Am I ready?

Sessions are facilitated by CBD staff and include a guest speaker. All-day session covers the first three of ten classes. The remaining seven classes will be scheduled on Mondays thereafter from 6 pm to 8 pm for an additional $150 tuition total. (All materials and lunch included.)

Stillwater Entrepreneur NetworkThe CBD offers a monthly networking breakfast for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Each breakfast is held at the CBD training room the third Thursday of the month. Meetings consist of networking and a guest speaker.

Business Consulting & CoachingWe offer business consulting and coaching to companies and individuals within our district. We will consult with an aspiring entrepreneur to discuss the feasibility of an idea or engage in business coaching with a business owner. Whether you need marketing assistance, advice on identifying a new market for your product or service, or assistance learning how to hire great employees, we can help.

Business IncubationBusiness incubation is a focused process including management guidance, technical assistance and tailored consulting for young, growing companies. We engage in business incubation with both Residential and Virtual Tenants. Residential Tenants access services and rent dedicated office or lab space for up to three years. Virtual Tenants access services but do not rent space. Clients can move easily between both tenant types depending on their business needs and situation.

Networking & Education EventsWe organize opportunities for entrepreneurs and small businesses to listen and learn from each other. We also offer regular sessions on the basics of starting a business as well as partner with our local chambers of commerce to bring education and training events to the communities in our district.

JOB PLACEMENT SERVICESMeridian Technology Center instructors assist current students who will be seeking full-time, permanent employment upon successful completion of their training programs. Students can also receive assistance in résumé writing, interview techniques, and job search activities.

COOPERATIVE ALLIANCE Earn college credit while you’re at Meridian Technology Center and apply that toward an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. No extra assignments, just college credit for the work you’ll be doing already.

The A.A.S. is a technical workforce degree. An A.A.S. degree is a great path to follow for someone who is planning on directly entering the workforce after earning the degree. The technical college courses are specific to the technical workforce degree (A.A.S.) and do not apply to other degrees designed to transfer to bachelor of arts (B.A.) and bachelor of science (B.S.) degrees. However, some credit may apply to a specific bachelor of technology degree.

Students are responsible for meeting college requirements and completing the admission process before college credit is granted. Credit is not automatic. Please contact the Career Planning Center for details.

TUITIONHigh school students from the Meridian district may attend full-time training free of charge. Tuition for adult students and those living outside the district is dependent on the specific career major. Tuition rates are subject to change until class starts. Please contact the Career Planning Center for tuition details. A deposit is required for each class and is applied to tuition.

FINANCIAL AIDAdult students may be eligible for financial assistance through grants and scholarships. Sources of aid are federal, state, institutional, community, foundation, and business and industry programs. Additional information on financial aid programs offered at Meridian is available in the Financial Aid Office located in the Career Planning Center. Office hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

NEXT STEP SCHOLARSHIPThe Next Step Scholarship is designed to assist students who were either not able to attend or complete their studies at Meridian while in high school. The scholarship is a tuition waiver for high school graduates of the Meridian district who want to begin or complete a career training program within two years of their graduation. Scholarship details and applications are available from the Career Planning Center.

The “Off-Campus Brown” route runs between the Meridian campus and OSU throughout the day.

Meridian Technology Center is proud to have a stop on the OSU Community Transit System. OSU students and Stillwater residents can ride the bus to the Meridian campus from just about anywhere in town and take advantage of the training opportunities available at Meridian.

The Center for Business Development provides customized support, education and training for entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the Meridian Technology Center district.

Computer numeric control (CNC) machines include machining tools such as lathes,

multi-axis spindles, milling machines and laser cutting machines. They cut away material from a

solid block of metal or plastic to form a finished part. Meridian’s program is accredited through the

National Institute for Metalworking Skills, Inc. A CNC machinist earns an average of $35,220*.

Personal & Professional Interest CoursesLean Administration A first step to learning the principles of Lean Enterprise. This course, similar to the popular Lean 101 course, mixes classroom and live simulation to teach principles that can be applied to an office environment. No previous experience is required. Participants work through a real-time administration processing situation. The results of the first simulation provide the basis for continuous improvements to the office setting.

Custom Scheduling 8 Hours $250 per person

Learn To Be Lean: Lean 101This is the first step to learning the principles of Lean Enterprise. No previous experience is required. The course is a mix of classroom and live simulation. Participants begin by manufacturing simulated circuit boards in a traditional manufacturing setting. The result of the first simulation round provides the setting for continuous improvement applying Lean Manufacturing principles.

ENROLLMENT FORM

A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm enrollment for each class. This deposit guarantees your enrollment in the class of your choice and is applied to your tuition. A $50 deposit is required for classes $399 and under. A $100 deposit is required for classes $400 and over. The deposit can be paid with a check or money order (payable to Meridian Technology Center) with a VISA, MasterCard or Discover Card. Deposit is refundable only if class is cancelled by Meridian Technology Center.

The balance of tuition is due by the first class meeting and is non-refundable. Supplies are not included in the tuition price, unless otherwise noted. If needed, they may be purchased from the Meridian Mart located on campus during regular business hours. We ask that you take responsibility for your projects that are left on our campus or at an extension site. Unforeseen circumstances may cause us to change the date or time of a class.
