Konrad PowersAugust 1, 2011: In a storm-shortened President’s Ri e Trophy Match, 41-year-old Konrad Powers of Carol Stream, IL topped the eld with an aggregate score of 295-8X.

Konrad focuses on his mental game in every match, not his equipment. As he often says, “mental focus, not equipment hocus-pocus.” He concentrates only on shooting each shot because Konrad relies on White Oak to provide a precisely built Service Ri e upper to match his shooting skill.

“White Oak Precision, the best service ri e uppers money can buy.”

Dear National Championship Competitor,

On behalf of the National Rifle Association, our volunteers and sponsors, it gives me great pleasure to

welcome you to the 2012 NRA National Rifle and Pistol Championships, part of the combined National

Matches. Summer is a beautiful time of year in Ohio, and Camp Perry will serve as the perfect venue, yet

again, for another successful National Match season. Many changes have taken place over the last few years

and improvements will continue to take place on and off the ranges at Camp Perry.

2012 will see the addition of F-Class categories during the High Power Rifle Long Range Championship, as

well as the America Match being shot by competitors from around the globe. The Pistol championship will

see the introduction of a new team match fired during the preliminary phase.

The National Rifle Association has worked very hard to secure new award sponsors for our Camp Perry

Championships. Please take the time to thank them for their generosity and support.

NRA, CMP and the Ohio National Guard are all very interested in your feedback on the operations at

Camp Perry. In your competitor packet you will find a survey sheet for your comments. Please fill these out

so we can best see how to improve the National Matches.

One final note, please review the NRA and CMP rulebooks and the National Match programs so that you

know and understand the rules and your responsibilities as a competitor at the National Championships.

Whether you’re a competitor, spectator, sponsor or just a supporter of great shooting competition, we trust

that each of you will enjoy your time in Port Clinton and make it a point to visit again soon. Thank you for

your support of the 2012 NRA National Rifle and Pistol Championships. Good luck and good shooting!

Sincerely,

Dennis Willing

NCAA COMPETITORS, PLEASE NOTE In action taken by the NCAA on April 25, 2002, the Division I Board of Directors approved a change to the NCAA Bylaws that permits an indi-vidual, prior to collegiate enrollment, to accept prize money (to include NRA Award Points) based on place finish in an event without jeopardiz-ing intercollegiate eligibility, as long as the prize money does not exceed actual and necessary expenses for that event. Any questions should be directed to the NCAA Membership Services staff at 317-917-6222.
