The symposium will start at 10:00AM with interactive educational sessions on “Genetic Testing in the Southdown Breed” and “Preparing your Southdown for Show”. We will continue our tradition of awarding several deserving youth their first Southdown in our “Starter Ewe Lamb” program. Sire is by NSLS Down & Dirty and out of an Ambush daughter of twin to The Edge. Dam is by The Edge and out of same ewe as the 2011 2nd place ASBA futurity fall ewe lamb. This is a predictable pedigree on a very thick topped and pretty headed lamb.

Full sister to our 1st place Feb. ewe lamb at the 2011 National Sale. Dam is by The Edge and goes back maternally to Edwina. 9102 has been a good outcross on our genetics, in 2011 was sire of Res. Supreme at WI State Fair that was 2nd fall at NAILE Jr. show and Supreme Ram WI Sheep & Wool Festival.

Dam is by Ambush and is maternally line-bred on MB Genetics 780B (sire of MB Klondike and The Edge) and is from our “73” ewe family that has made many good show ewes with strong maternal traits when put to work in the flock. Check Facebook or our blogspot for current photos and pedigrees on all of our entries.

Don’t miss this super stylish, up headed, young triplet yearling ewe. She still has her lambs’ teeth and she will get bigger. Her sire produces sheep that are very pretty with clean front ends, he is by the ram Splide’s call Quad 5. The dam is a Sami Meyers ewe with “Jordan”, and “El Nino” in her pedigree. We shouldn’t let a ewe of this quality go, but we have her two sisters at home.

We were fortunate to have a pretty good set of January ewe lambs and this one comes right out of the top end. She has plenty of top and great hip shape all in a pretty package with excellent breed type. Her dam is a great producer of RR lambs, and her sire was our pick of last year’s Ohio entries, he is making an impact in our flock. We will futurity nominate at least one of our ewe lambs for this sale.

Another high quality January ewe lamb offered here. She has really come on as a triplet, good length of body, powerful top, square hip and a real sweet Southdown head. Dam was a show ewe, and she raised triplets without any help. Sire is the Williams ram mentioned on our fall ram entry. Her sister will stay in our flock and her RR brother is for sale at the farm.

The yearling ewe we had entered hurt herself so we dug into the keeper pen to bring you a great sheep. It’s not everyday you get a chance at a keeper ewe out of me, just ask anyone who’s tried! She’s as neat ribbed and square hipped as you’ll find and you add Gen 10 to it and he blows that outer and lower stifle apart, combined with a lot of rack shape. Simply put, this sweet lady is a wether making beast. Don’t miss your chance to own her!

You can’t build one much better than this one from the ground up! From a great set of feet and legs, to an awesome top shape and loin edge, she has that added hip shape and lower shape to her stiffle to make her a needed purchase if you’re wanting to add muscle. Oh and did I mention that 4-81 is the mother of American Express?

In the last 10 years, the Southdown breed has experienced tremendous growth in the state of Wisconsin. We are often ranked among the top five states in the USA for numbers of registrations and transfers. Southdowns are being

used in Wisconsin Commercial flocks as terminal sires to add muscle and substance. They have become the breed with the largest entries shown at most open and youth shows in the state. And we are not just about quantity....

Wisconsin Southdown breeders consistently produced more National Champion Sale and Show ewes than any other state in the nation!
