The Cougar Baseball Academy at WSU welcomes players ages 10-18 to Washington State University’s baseball
camps. Our camps are commited to providing instruction and development opportunities in all aspects of
baseball. Led by the coaches at WSU, The Cougar Baseball Academy excels in the latest instructional methods,
creating an excellent learning environment for players as they look to advance their level of play in baseball.
The Cougar Baseball Academy balances daily drills with exciting competitive situations creating a camp
environment second to none.
The camps are hosted at the beautiful Bailey-Brayton field on the WSU Campus. Featuring an 8,000 square
foot indoor hitting and pitching facility, a football size indoor practice facility and state of the art field turf
on all areas of the field except the mound, Bailey-Brayton has become one of the best facilities in the Pac-12

FALL INSTRUCTIONAL HITTING LEAGUEfALL InstructIonAL hIttIng LeAguestarts in november 2011
League objective: This is an opportunity for area players to improve their hitting skills through instruction from the WSU baseball staff
and players. The players are then encouraged to apply what they have learned into a competitive game situation. Although individual and
team statistics will be compiled, the primary goal is on improvement not winning or losing.
All hitting league dates are sundays: Time are designated according to age and will be announced prior to the first hitting date. There will
be no makeup times available for participants that miss a hitting league date.
The Hitting League will be held in Washington State’s indoor hitting facility “The Barn” located adjacent to the Bailey-Brayton baseball
field.
LEAGUE INFORMATIONteAMs – The league in is comprised of four-player teams who compete against other teams within their age division. Individuals who
register will be assigned to a team.
DIVIsIons – 3 Divisions are formed according to the grades of players:
A-grades 4-6, AA-grades 7-9, AAA-grades 10-12
coMPetItIon – Teams will play a seven inning game with each player taking 5 swings (per inning) off the pitching machine.
scorIng – Each cage is marked with scoring areas. Hitting line drives and ground balls into the designated areas accumulates points.
InstructIon – Participants are encouraged to report 30 minutes prior to their competition for drill work and instructional opportunities.
stAtIstIcs – Weekly e-mails will be sent out with updated team standings and individual leader statistics.
regIstrAtIon – The registration deadline is November 9th!!! Cost is $99 for INDIVIDUALS and $376 PER TEAM.
2012 WINTER CAMpSJr eLIte hIttIng cAMPJanuary 14-16
The Junior Elite Hitting Camp provides campers ages 8-13 an
opportunity to receive elite level instruction similar to the Senior
Elite Hitting Camp from WSU Hitting Coach Spencer Allen
and Coach Mike Naughton. Enrollment is limited to 30 players
providing a great player/coach ratio for all players! Campers will
receive eight hours of instruction over the course of two days on
WSU’s campus using their incredible hitting facility and indoor
practice facility. This camp will focus on preparing junior hitters
to compete at their highest level and give them the confidence in
their swing needed to be successful in the coming season. Learn
the basics of being a great hitter with lessons in mechanics of
the swing, hitting drills, developing a plan, and mental skills.

The Cougar Baseball Ultimate Winter Camp allows players ages
14-18 an opportunity to work with and showcase their talents
in front of the WSU Coaching Staff. Coach Marbut, Coach
Swenson, Coach Allen and Coach Naughton, as well as the
Cougar Baseball players, all work to provide a great experience
for high school players as they prepare for the coming season.
Utilizing the coaches and players, as well as guest coaches
from other area colleges, provides a great player/coach ratio
and often gives campers many one-on-one coaching moments.
Opportunities are provided for pitchers, catchers, infielders and
outfielders to come learn the skills necessary to be a great player
on defense, and the nine hours of hitting instruction provides
players the opportunity to learn the latest in swing mechanics,
hitting drills, game planning, and the mentality of a hitter.
Campers can attend as a Pitcher or Hitter only, or can attend
all sessions as a Pitcher or Catcher, Infielder or Outfielder and

2012 SUMMER CAMpStotAL cougAr BAseBALL exPerIence
The Total Cougar Baseball Experience has several registration
options:
the overnight camper experience allows players the opportunity
to stay in WSU dormitories with their teammates and coaches,
participate in all sessions of the camp, eat three meals a day, and
participate in recreational activities with other campers.
the Local camper experience allows campers to experience all
of the above, however they will not stay overnight in the WSU
dorms. Campers will arrive for the 9 a.m. session and depart after
the evening session (around 9 p.m.). Lunch and dinner will be
provided.
the Day camper experience allows campers the opportunity
to participate in the morning and afternoon sessions of camp.
Campers will arrive for the 9 a.m. session and depart around
5 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The WSU High School Prospect Camp will provide a sound
learning environment and an opportunity for each player to
showcase their talents. Baseball players will receive advanced
skill instruction from Washington State University coaches as
well as additional college coaches and Professional Scouts.
Each player will work with and be evaluated by the WSU
Baseball staff.
This camp is designed for the serious baseball player.
Instruction will be advanced yet tailored to players of all
abilities and skill levels. This camp will prepare you to play
baseball at the next level beyond high school.
note: Players are guaranteed to play their primary position that
they choose when registering and the WSU Coaching staff will
do their best to provide players playing time at their secondary
position as well.
Players will receive three days of elite professional instruction,
an opportunity to meet and learn from the current WSU
baseball coaching staff.
We apologize for the inconvenience but we CANNOT provide
on-campus lodging for this camp. Some meals will be provided

frequentLy AskeD questIonsAre there any discounts offered? No discounts are offered at our camps. NCAA regulations prohibit us from discounting a player’s entry fee.
Can Teams attend? Teams are highly encouraged to attend one of The Cougar Baseball Academy at WSU camps. A team discounted rate will be provided to our youth camps for groups of 8 or more campers. Contact Michael Naughton to set up the discounted rate. [email protected]
What is the camp refund policy?All refunds without the purchasing of a Cancellation Protection Fee requested prior to camp will have a $75 cancellation fee deducted. If you have purchased the Cancellation Protection Fee, you can either request a full refund or use it towards a camp credit up to three years.
What forms are required in order for my child to participate?A medical clearance form will be required for a camper to participate. This form must be completed during online registration.
What items should my child bring to camp? Campers are encouraged to bring their own equipment to camp (bat, glove, helmet, catcher’s gear, etc.). The Cougar Baseball Academy at WSU cannot guarantee equipment to all campers. Campers are encouraged to bring their own sunscreen to camp. Any medical equip-ment (inhalers, etc) must be provided by the camper. Campers are encouraged to wear baseball appropriate clothing. Cleats can be worn on the field turf at Bailey-Brayton. It is recommended tennis shoes be worn in our indoor facilities.
Where and when is check in? Location for camp check-in will vary based on the camp locale. Pri-mary check-in will occur at Bailey-Brayton Field or at the Streit-Perham Dorms during the summer camps and at the Indoor Practice Facility during winter camps.
How do I get to camp?(Driving directions)For our Pullman camps, facilities are located on WSU’s campus off Stadium Way. Bailey-Brayton field and the Indoor Practice Facility are located across Stadium Way from Martin Stadium, home of Cougar Football and next to Beasley Arena, home to Cougar Basketball.
What is a typical day like? Campers can expect a full day of instruction and drills, with great camper/coach interaction. Camp drills will be balanced out by competi-tive situations, always popular at our camps.
Is there a medical staff at camp? All camps held at our Pullman campus will have medical staff on hand. WSU Athletic Medicine provides trainers for our camp sessions. It is important to indicate any existing medical issues prior to camp on the medical form so our trainers can assist you as needed.
Can parents watch the camp?Parents are highly encouraged to watch the session. By learning the material, they can assist their child in reinforcing what was taught. Thus, you are more than welcome to watch. Coaches will be happy to answer your questions after the drill session is over or after camp should some come up. Of course, your player is encouraged to ask questions at the time of the drill for immediate assistance.
What happens to left behind equipment? It is highly recommended that you mark your equipment with a sharp-ie. Lost or left behind equipment is not guaranteed to be returned un-less the equipment is clearly marked with a name and phone number.

Can my child pick his/her roommate for camp?Yes. In order to request a roommate, there is a section in the online registration to make this request. Both campers must fill this out in order to request their roommate.
What is the Camp Bank? Is there a store?Campers can turn in their money to the camp bank and they receive tickets to purchase snacks and refreshments or clothing from the camp store. The camp staff keeps track of their purchases and issues more tickets as needed. If the campers have money left over, they are reim-bursed as they check out from camp.
What meals are provided?Please refer to the confirmation letter you receive following sign up.
Should my child bring a cooler with snacks and beverages?We advise that campers bring coolers with snacks and beverages for breaks. Many of our camps do provide meals. Water is always available to the campers through our training staff. Please refer to the confirmation letter following registration with the meal schedule for that particular camp.

The Cougar Baseball Elite 60 Camp is a prospect camp
for baseball players ages 12-15. Each player will have the
opportunity to showcase their talents and be evaluated by the
WSU Baseball staff during our pro-style workouts, offensive and
defensive sessions and multiple games. Campers will receive
advanced skill instruction from Washington State University
coaches as well as additional college coaches from around the
state.
This camp is designed for the serious baseball player and it
will prepare you to play baseball at the next level beyond high
school. Instruction will be advanced yet tailored to players of
all abilities and skill levels. Players will receive 3 days of elite
collegiate instruction and an opportunity to meet and learn from
the current WSU baseball coaching staff.
note: Players are guaranteed to play their primary position that
they choose when registering and the WSU Coaching staff will
do their best to provide players playing time at their secondary
position as well.
camper Details: Overnight campers will be provided with meals

League objective: This is an opportunity for area players to improve their hitting skills through instruction from the WSU baseball staff
and players. The players are then encouraged to apply what they have learned into a competitive game situation. Although individual and
team statistics will be compiled, the primary goal is on improvement not winning or losing.
All hitting league dates are sundays: Time are designated according to age and will be announced prior to the first hitting date. There will
be no makeup times available for participants that miss a hitting league date.
The Hitting League will be held in Washington State’s indoor hitting facility “The Barn” located adjacent to the Bailey-Brayton baseball
field.
LEAGUE INFORMATIONteAMs – The league in is comprised of four-player teams who compete against other teams within their age division. Individuals who
register will be assigned to a team.
DIVIsIons – 3 Divisions are formed according to the grades of players:
A-grades 4-6, AA-grades 7-9, AAA-grades 10-12
coMPetItIon – Teams will play a seven inning game with each player taking 5 swings (per inning) off the pitching machine.
scorIng – Each cage is marked with scoring areas. Hitting line drives and ground balls into the designated areas accumulates points.
InstructIon – Participants are encouraged to report 30 minutes prior to their competition for drill work and instructional opportunities.
stAtIstIcs – Weekly e-mails will be sent out with updated team standings and individual leader statistics.

The Junior Elite Hitting Camp provides campers ages 8-13 an
opportunity to receive elite level instruction similar to the Senior
Elite Hitting Camp from WSU Hitting Coach Spencer Allen
and Coach Mike Naughton. Enrollment is limited to 30 players
providing a great player/coach ratio for all players! Campers will
receive eight hours of instruction over the course of two days on
WSU’s campus using their incredible hitting facility and indoor
practice facility. This camp will focus on preparing junior hitters
to compete at their highest level and give them the confidence in
their swing needed to be successful in the coming season. Learn
the basics of being a great hitter with lessons in mechanics of
the swing, hitting drills, developing a plan, and mental skills.

for high school players as they prepare for the coming season.

abilities and skill levels. This camp will prepare you to play
baseball at the next level beyond high school.

do their best to provide players playing time at their secondary
position as well.

What forms are required in order for my child to participate?A medical clearance form will be required for a camper to participate. This form must be completed during online registration.
What items should my child bring to camp? Campers are encouraged to bring their own equipment to camp (bat, glove, helmet, catcher’s gear, etc.). The Cougar Baseball Academy at WSU cannot guarantee equipment to all campers. Campers are encouraged to bring their own sunscreen to camp. Any medical equip-ment (inhalers, etc) must be provided by the camper. Campers are encouraged to wear baseball appropriate clothing. Cleats can be worn on the field turf at Bailey-Brayton. It is recommended tennis shoes be worn in our indoor facilities.
Where and when is check in? Location for camp check-in will vary based on the camp locale. Pri-mary check-in will occur at Bailey-Brayton Field or at the Streit-Perham Dorms during the summer camps and at the Indoor Practice Facility during winter camps.
How do I get to camp?(Driving directions)For our Pullman camps, facilities are located on WSU’s campus off Stadium Way. Bailey-Brayton field and the Indoor Practice Facility are located across Stadium Way from Martin Stadium, home of Cougar Football and next to Beasley Arena, home to Cougar Basketball.
What is a typical day like? Campers can expect a full day of instruction and drills, with great camper/coach interaction. Camp drills will be balanced out by competi-tive situations, always popular at our camps.
Is there a medical staff at camp? All camps held at our Pullman campus will have medical staff on hand. WSU Athletic Medicine provides trainers for our camp sessions. It is important to indicate any existing medical issues prior to camp on the medical form so our trainers can assist you as needed.
Can parents watch the camp?Parents are highly encouraged to watch the session. By learning the material, they can assist their child in reinforcing what was taught. Thus, you are more than welcome to watch. Coaches will be happy to answer your questions after the drill session is over or after camp should some come up. Of course, your player is encouraged to ask questions at the time of the drill for immediate assistance.
What happens to left behind equipment? It is highly recommended that you mark your equipment with a sharp-ie. Lost or left behind equipment is not guaranteed to be returned un-less the equipment is clearly marked with a name and phone number.
