For use in hygiene-sensitive applications or situations where contamination fromlubricant is to be avoided, Renold Synochain displays all the characteristics youneed from a chain. With a food industry-approved lubricant within the sinteredbush, this chain will in almost all instancesnot need relubricating. The roller coating isalso suitable for use in the food industry; aunique feature on any chain.

Available in boxed 10-foot lengths from06B to 24B and ANSI 40 to ANSI 100,simplex and duplex with a standard pindiameter, this means that Renold Synochain is dimensionally interchangeablewith standard roller chain and is evencompatible with standard sprockets.

With the kind of excellent wear and fatigueresistance that you expect from a Renold

chain, Syno chain outlasts any competitorproduct promoted as low-lube or non-lube.

Already tried and tested by majorcompanies in the food sector andelsewhere, if you have to operate withminimal lubrication but can’t compromiseon performance, we can boost yourproductivity, cut your downtime and saveyou time and money.

TSUBAKI GT4 Winner: Standard Roller Chain

TSUBAKI, the world’s

largest and most advanced

manufacturer of chain has

released a new 4th generation

BS/DIN standard roller

chain. The latest generation

chain, branded Tsubaki GT4

Winner hosts a number of

manufacturing and material

developments.

Repeated testing and field data indicate that wear between the bearing parts is a primary limiting factor in overall chain life, particularly in externally lubricated chain types such as BS/DIN standard roller chain. TSUBAKI has committed significant amounts of research and development to making improvements in this area, to reduce wear and chain elongation over a longer period of time-even for standard drive roller chain.

Four Key Features

1. Pre Lubrication Lube Groove (LG)TSUBAKI’s new BS/DIN series roller chain utilise a new production technique to manufacture a seamless bush with grooves incorporated on the inner surface. The lube-grooved (LG) bush holds oil at the point of contact where the chain needs it most, providing an internal reservoir for lubricant. The result is a chain that lasts longer with lower maintenance costs over the lifetime of the chain.

2. Seamless Bush > Perfectly CylindricalThe new Tsubaki BS/DIN series chain has a seamless bush with a very precise cylindrical profile and surface finish resulting in better surface contact between the pin and bush along with improved lubricant retention.

3. Easy dis-assembly > Centre Sink RivetWith Tsubaki’s design of rivet head the chain is easily dis-assembled with an additional benefit being that in the event of the chain being overloaded, the markings on the rivet head will identify pin rotation.

4. Increased Transmission Capacity > Ring CoiningThe Ring Coined connecting link allows the chain to be specified up to its full kW rating. The precision and strength achieved on these components is far beyond that of competitor’s offerings. The typical standard slip-fit connecting link is usually much weaker than the other links. Tsubaki’s Ring Coin technology has overcome that.

CO2 Reduction

Tsubaki takes its environmental responsibility very seriously in its state-of-the-art production facilities. The new BS/DIN series chain contributes significantly to reducing CO2 emissions due to the greatly extended replacement frequency.

Lambda Lube Free Roller Chain

Tsubaki’s Lambda Chains were the first in the industry to use a special oil-impregnated bush. Since their launch in 1988, they have been adopted for diverse industries and applications, and their performance has been highly rated. Tsubaki has a wide line-up of lube-free, long life products that help customers reduce costs.

Technical EvolutionAs a pioneer in the lube-free chain market, Tsubaki will reveal some of the key elements behind Lambda’s outstanding performance:

Sintered BushA special oil-impregnated sintered bush in combination with a special coated pin for long-term internal lubrication is the secret of Tsubaki Lambda’s long economic life and wear resistance.

Easy CuttingBS Lambda chain can be disassembled quick and safely with an original Tsubaki Chain Tool without damaging the bushes (RS08B-LM-1 to RS16B-LM-1).

Patented Ring Coining ProcessBreakage of the chains connecting link is no issue at Tsubaki thanks to this unique feature. By applying the patented Ring Coining process, Tsubaki generates a cold deformation around the pin hole of the connecting link plate. This results in residual stress around the pin hole and thereby adds strength. By using this process transmission capacity is 100% of the base chain.

Special EnvironmentsTsubaki Lambda has outstanding performance in temperatures up to 150°C. For temperatures above 150°C Tsubaki has a special high-temperature Lambda available. Please contact Tsubaki for more detailed information.

For applications in the food industry, Tsubaki can supply Lambda chain with bushes impregnated with food grade lubricating oil (NSF-H1 and H3 certified).

When an application needs water wash downs or is exposed to moisture, and lubrication is not possible or desirable, Lambda N.E.P. is most efficient.

AdvantagesTsubaki has enhanced the Lambda with the following advantages:

Save Maintenance CostsNo expensive labour costs as it is not required to manually lubricate this chain.

Save Purchasing CostsLower frequency of purchasing due to the high quality of the chain and it’s long economic life. No purchasing of lubricants or lubrication systems necessary.

Higher ProductivityNo unforeseen downtime due to chain breakdown. Less time required for maintenance and therefore more time for production.

Environmental FriendlyApplications run clean thus reducing the risk of contaminating products, machines, floor etc.

Inter-Changeability

Chains: • BS Lambda: BS Lambda Chains are fully

interchangeable with standard BS roller chains.

• ANSI Lambda: Only simplex ANSI Lambda is interchangeable with standard ANSI roller chain. However, as the pins are longer than those of the standard ANSI roller chain, please make sure that there is no interference with the machine.

Sprockets: • BS Lambda: Standard BS roller chain

sprockets can be used. However, due to the extended lifetime of BS Lambda chain, Tsubaki recommends to install sprockets with hardened teeth in every Lambda application.

• ANSI Lambda: Only simplex ANSI roller chain sprockets are interchangeable. Multi strand sprockets need to be customised due to the thickness of the roller link plates. Due to the extended lifetime of ANSI Lambda chain, Tsubaki advises to install sprockets with hardened teeth in every Lambda application.

BS Chain For Corrosive Environments

Whether your operation requires a sanitary environment, is exposed to corrosive chemicals, is heated to extreme temperatures, runs through a freezer, is exposed to the outdoors or is affected by excessive moisture: our specially designed and tested chains will outlast your current chains and contribute to a cost effective application.

Corrosion Resistant Chain (Stainless Steel base)

BS PC Engineering Plastic Combination ChainThe pins and pin link plates of these chains are made of SUS304 (spring clips SUS301). Engineering plastic (white) is used for the inner link. This combination makes it a lube-free, low noise (5 dB lower than

BS standard roller chain) and lightweight chain (50% lighter than BS standard roller chain). Working temperature range: -20°C to +80°C.

BS SS Stainless Steel ChainAll basic components of this chain are made of Stainless Steel SUS304 (except the spring clips, which are made of SUS301). This chain can be used in special environments such as underwater, acidic and alkaline applications. It can also be used in high and low temperatures (-20°C to +400°C). SUS304 is only marginally magnetic, which is the result of the cold-forging process.

Corrosion Protected Chain (Carbon Steel base)

BS N.E.P. New Environmental Plating ChainBS N.E.P. Chain is a TSUBAKI BS chain that has undergone a special surface treatment. The link plates, bushes and bearing pins have a special three stage layer applied in order to provide the maximum protection

from the operating or environmental conditions. (Spring clips are SUS301). N.E.P. Rollers have a special coating designed to resist the corrosive conditions as well as the severe dynamic contact between roller and sprocket.

This chain is suitable for use in environments exposed to seawater, acid-rain and other adverse weather conditions. This chain does not contain any chemically hazardous substances such as Hexavalent Chromium, Lead, Cadmium and Mercury as regulated by RoHS√. The kilowatt ratings are the same as those of the corresponding BS chain with a working temperature range: -10°C to +150°C. Above +60°C a special high-temperature lubrication is required. Of course, BS LAMBDA N.E.P. chain is also available. √ RoHS= Restriction of Hazardous Substances

Match & Tag Service: High Accuracy, Narrow Tolerance Service

For TSUBAKI, quality is second nature- and

so for customers with specific application

requirements, we are able to supply chains

with a specific length tolerance, or even

pairs & multiple chains length matched

and tagged in the same way for easy

identification and installation. This is as

a result of the sophisticated chain length

measurement equipment (the “Matchy”) kept

in house within the European headquarters

with supply times for such chains kept

to a minimum-ideal for distributors, final

consumers and OEM customers alike.

1A 2A2B1B

TolerancesWhen chains have to run in parallel for conveying purposes in for instance packaging machines or when a minimum of difference in chain length is required in lifting applications (accumulator towers in the steel and carpet industry)

TSUBAKI excels in quality performance. We can guarantee a maximum chain length difference of 0.50 mm independent of the total chain length demanded by our customers!

Tsubaki Gripper Chain

New solution for the thermoforming process found with Tsubaki’s wide range of ‘Gripper’ chains.

Tsubaki has launched a new range of ‘gripper’ chains to be used for thermoforming in various sectors including food, electrical and medical packaging. Whereas conventional gripping attachments often open vertically, Tsubaki’s range opens to the side as well which provides a larger opening preventing jams and making loading easier. This innovative solution is available with many variations of transmission chain, including Tsubaki’s unique Lambda lube-free chain. Offering extended chain life and minimal maintenance Tsubaki’s gripper chain offers a fresh, new option for thermoforming.

TSUBAKI: Value Added Services

Installation

TSUBAKI engineers can support installation projects from initial quotation stage, through on-site support during installation and then to final sign off at commission. TSUBAKI products offer best value for money when correctly installed, hence our support during this critical stage.

Surveying

TSUBAKI can support chain users by providing a site survey of their entire plant. This ensures the ordering of complex chain is made simple by an easy-to-use survey database. TSUBAKI wants this to be an effective business tool so uses simple language to identify chain and attachment detail. The survey results can also help reduce your overall stock level and further reduce cost by identifying and consolidating common chain types.

Condition Based Monitoring Service

TSUBAKI offers regular and scheduled site visits to monitor its chain’s performance. Customers receive a detailed report recommending the necessary actions to ensure best possible performance and value.

Training Services

TSUBAKI offers technical training packages tailored to suit your needs. From a simple introduction to chain and installation basics; through to chain selection, advanced failure analysis and application specific advice; TSUBAKI can partner with apprentices, maintenance engineers, and designers to ensure its wealth of experience is available.

Complementary Products

Tsubaki’s offers the most complete and versatile selection of one-way clutches in the global industry. Cam Clutches are precision devices which lock the inner- and outer races, through a wedging action of cams, to transmit torque in one direction of rotation and overrun in the opposite direction. These units are often referred to as freewheels, sprag clutches, overrunning clutches, backstops or one-way clutches, depending upon on the application for which they are used.

Design Features

Full Cam ComplementThe full compliment of cams provides the maximum number of load transmitting members per given diameter. The result is a higher torque capacity than other clutches.

Cam DesignPrecision formed cams, made of special alloy steel assure extra long wear- and fatigue life.

High Quality ComponentsOuter- and inner races are made of high-quality alloy steel with high surface hardness and core toughness. The races are precision ground, providing excellent concentricity and surface finish to obtain cam rotation.

Tsubaki Roller Chain Coupling

The Tsubaki Roller Chain Coupling is a flexible coupling of amazingly simple construction. It consists of the combination of one coupling chain and a pair of coupling sprockets. The coupling can be used over a wide range of applications. It is flexible and strong, and surpasses all others with its unique qualities.

Tsubaki Echt Flex Couplings

This non-backlash, lube-free coupling has high torsional stiffness, maximizing the benefit of servomotors.

Based on finite element analysis, the disk is optimally designed to ensure reliable torque transmission, while absorbing misalignment smoothly.

All models are RoHS compliant.

Tsubaki Overload Protection

Torque Gard TGM Series are safety devices for the protection of machine equipment from overload. The Torq Gard TGM Series has many advantages compared to other safety devices such as pin type, friction type, ball type, roller type etc.

Tsubaki Sprockets

Tsubaki sprockets are built from top-grade, heat-treated carbon steel to offer long wear life, resist abrasion and withstand heavy shock loads. For extra corrosion resistance and food grade applications, alloy and stainless steel sprockets are also available. You get longer service life and reliable performance, turn after turn, time after time.

We work harder to save you money and downtime – Tel: 0870 240 2100

We stock an extensive range of plastic sheet, rod and tube in various materials including machining, fabrication and specialist plastics. Our CNC saw facilities enable us to cut sheets up to 4000mm x 4000mm and up to a maximum thickness of 147mm. For rods, our automatic band saw provides a billeting service for up to 300mm diameter. Below are our most popular types of engineering plastics.

Wear strips are commonly used to prevent chain or belt movement and reduce vibration which can increase bearing and motor loads. We have the facilities to extrude Corrothene for a wide range of standard profiles along with in-house tool making facilities enabling us to extrude bespoke wear strips to your exact requirements.

manufacturing process is also suitable for producing the same plastic component required on a regular basis. At our IAC Plastics division we manufacture our own brand of Corromidesheets and tubes. We hold tooling for a range of standard sizes and also offer a custom Nylon casting service for specific customer requirements. We offer various Nylon grades and have ultra-sonic detection equipment enabling us to carry out inspections on all castings for any voids and porosity.
