    Verba Volant

I really like this. A lot of people I know are setting

up their own companies, business, ventures. Of

course it is not easy, but surely better to wait that

    the Titanic is finally sunk.

Here you have Anna Giordano's "Verba Volant".

If you need any writing service (in Italian) she is

    there for you!

    Incredible Edible

A revolution where we (literally) eat the

    landscape!

What should a community do with its unused land?Plant food, of course. With energy and humor,

Pam Warhurst tells at the TEDSalon the story of

how she and a growing team of volunteers came

together to turn plots of unused land into

communal vegetable gardens, and to change thenarrative of food in their community.

Pam Warhurst cofounded Incredible Edible, an

initiative in Todmorden, England dedicated to

growing food locally by planting on unused landthroughout the community.

Ciao a tutti + thanxthanxthanx to all.

Yesterday the voting phase related to the MOOC

Production fellowship finished and we did very

    well.

Finally, 2281 persons voted for our project, we

ranked fifth in the overall (fifth out of 255

proposals), and second in our group (courses in

    English, 2nd out of 116).

Next, we have to wait for the final decision of the

jury: the jury will make the final decision (5 grants

to courses in English language and 5 grants to

courses in German), by the 10th of June. They will

take in consideration the public vote + their ownopinion on the proposals presented.

Here, the content of the email I received

    yesterday:

    Dear Mr Mirti,

The poll voting for the MOOC Production

Fellowship has just closed and we are proud to

count over 100.000 votes from potential students

    for your courses.

Currently we are reviewing the results and we will

pass them on to the jury.

As we have explained before, the voting is

supposed to give an impression of potential

student interest in the course proposal.

Ultimately, however, it is up to the jury to decide

which of the proposals will be awarded the ten

    fellowships.

We again wish you the best of luck with your

application, and are very excited to inform you

about the jurys decision until June 10. Please

mark June 20 and 21, 2013 in your calendars as we

will hold hold the award ceremony and the course

production workshop in Berlin on those dates.

    All the best,

    San Costantino Albanese

Being around with Andrea Paoletti, one of the

most interesting things we went through it is the

    Arbresh culture.

    Wikipedia explains:

The Arbresh are a linguistic and ethnic Albanian

minority community living in southern Italy, especially the regions of Basilicata, Molise, Apulia,

    Calabria and Sicily.

They settled in Southern Italy in the 15th to 18th

centuries AD in several waves of migrations, following the death of the Albanian national hero

George Kastrioti Skanderbeg and the gradual

conquest of Albania and throughout the Byzantine

    Empire by the Ottoman Turks.

    Pollino National Park.

Almost everyone talked about local values,

identity, and all kind of things not so familiar to

    me.

Out of all these people, the most convincing one

was mr Federico Valicenti. A fantastic cook who

opened his restaurant (Luna Rossa) in 1981.

He didn't do it to support local values. He didn't do

it because he wanted to make a better world. He

did it because he wanted to achieve the best for

    his restaurant.

A very nice attitude for a very special gent.

    Pinky

Another nice person I've met when traveling

around is Andrea Mazzotta(thanks to Felice

    Gualtieri).

He works in the publishing industry, and he knows

everything related to comics. It was such a

pleasure to find someone to talk about Pinky,

Squeak the Mouse, and tons of other things very

    special to me

We should spend moretime talkingand thinking

    and making and sharing comics!

    Castelmezzano

    Pastina. Italian Goodies.

Last night I had a nice dinner with various

designers from Basilicata. Very interesting people,

    very interesting stories.

Among them, the ones I liked the most are

Francesca Puddu and Domenico Santoro (Pastina).

They spin between Rome and Castelmezzano. They

use the finest Italian craftsmanship to make

    contemporary design.

The real "makers", without the un-necessary and

    obnoxious "maker" aesthetic.
