Barbarella

In an unspecified future, Barbarella (Jane Fonda)

is assigned by the President of Earth to retrieve

Doctor Duran Duran from the Tau Ceti region.

Duran Duran is the inventor of the Positronic Ray,

a weapon. Earth is now a peaceful planet, and

weapons are unheard of. Because Tau Ceti is an

unknown region of space there is the potential for

the weapon to fall into the wrong hands. Donning

the first of many outfits, Barbarella sets out to

find the missing scientist. She crashes on the 16th

planet of Tau Ceti, on an icy plain.

The Planet as a Festival

Concerned with the deterioration of urban life,

Sottsass used the series The Planet as Festival to

depict a utopian land where all of humanity is free

from work and social conditioning.

In his futuristic vision, goods are free, abundantly

produced, and distributed around the globe.

Liberated from banks, supermarkets, and subways,

individuals can “come to know by means of their

bodies, their psyche, and their sex, that they are

living,” he said.

According to his ideas, once consciousness has

been reawakened, technology could be used to

heighten self-awareness, and life would be in

harmony with nature. Reflecting the

After the death of Sgt. Kimberly Walker —

allegedly killed by her boyfriend — the soldier's

parents decided to honor their daughter the best

way they knew how. SpongeBob was Kimberly's

favorite cartoon character. Even as an adult, she

owned many SpongeBob items, including shower

curtains.

“SpongeBob went in her casket before we laid her

in the ground,” mother Deborah Walker told

WLWT in Cincinnati.

Anyone hoping to move into this high rise block of

flats in eastern China probably shouldn't expect a

room with view.

While the apartments may look like they have

plenty of windows, many of them are fake.

Officials in Qingdao, in Shandong province, have

claimed that a series of 'windows' have been

pianted onto the side of the low cost

accommodation for aesthetic reasons rather than

to fool potential buyers.

According to reports, the appearance of the block

sparked internet rumours that the Government

was cutting corners in a bid to save money.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs called him "out of the blue"in 2009 to invite him to design the Apple Campus 2

with the words "Hi Norman, I need some help."

"For me this project started in the summer of

2009," says Foster in a movie published this weekby Cupertino City Council. "Out of the blue a

telephone call. It's Steve: 'Hi Norman, I need some

help.' I was out there three weeks later."

The movie documents a planning meeting held inthe city on 1 October, at which representatives of

Apple, Foster + Partners and others presented

details of the $5 billion project to create a new

home for Apple in Cupertino.
