Companion Tours

Virginia City and Tahoe

The first tour begins in Reno Nevada on October 11, 2013 at 11:00 am. Soon we’ll be climbing up the Virginia Range in Washoe County Nevada admiring views of the Sierra’s to the West. Surrounded by high desert beauty, be sure to look for the Wild Mustang herds which may be close to the roadway.

The coach will drop everyone off in the heart of Virginia City Nevada, the home of the largest Silver Mine in History. Enjoy free

time to step back in time. Lunch will be on your own; there are many delicious locations here, Palace Restaurant, Hole in the Wall Donuts (great soups), the Roasting House coffee, Chinese, and Fudge Shops.

We will then continue through the Virginia Range, and travel up Hwy 50 to East Lake Tahoe. Enjoy the most beautiful scenery as the desert makes way into vast pine forests climbing the majestic Sierra Nevada’s.

We will pass the Home of the Bonanza television show. See where the Cartwright family built their empire. In Incline Village, Lake Tahoe we’ll overlook the ‘Jewel of the Sierra’s’ at 7000 feet above sea level. Take amazing pictures the entire afternoon. The Coach will return to Reno at 4:00 pm.

Carson City

The second day tour will depart on October 12, 2013 at 11:00 am. Travel will be from Reno, NV to Carson City Nevada, our state Capital. This day will have wonderful views of Washoe Valley surrounded by high desert mountain views and the nearby forests.

Arriving in Carson City only thirty minutes South of Reno, you will learn about Nevada’s history at the Nevada State Museum. Tickets to the museum will be distributed on the coach. Guests will have plenty of free time to experience the rich history of the old West. Learn why Carson is the Capital of Nevada.

The museum is home to the Federal ‘Historic Coin Press No. 1’ which travelled all over the country via the Transcontinental Railroad.

Nevada State Museum also offers changing exhibits, historic artifacts: jewelry, clothing, geologic history, America’s largest Mammoth, mining tools, original slot machines and much more!

In Carson City you will also be close to many eatery locations including casino diners, the Carson Nugget. Other restaurants such as Mustang Sallie’s Grill, Kim Lee’s Sushi, Sassafras, and Garibaldi’s are all within walking distance.

You may also be interested in seeing the Capital Building and State Legislature, nestled in a beautiful park like setting, just 2 blocks south of the Museum. The Coach will return to Reno by 4:00 pm.
