The Intersection of Philanthropy, Marketing and Business DevelopmentHow to Avoid a Major Crash!Philanthropy, marketing and business development often converge due to the focus on the same or overlapping external constituencies. It is rare that a single executive is responsible for all three of these functions within most health care organizations, so coordination, cooperation and collaboration become essential for organizational success. Even when one executive manages these functions, differences in experience, perceived strategy and goals can undermine plans for advancing the strategic goals for the organization in developing key relationships. This workshop will focus on scenarios and techniques for establishing productive working relationships between the functions of philanthropy, marketing and business development in health care. Successful and unsuccessful models will be shared.
