1. SPRINGFIELD’S ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS TOUR Springfield, MO has many different facilities that promote the urban environmental awareness. This trip will stop by a number of them as they highlight their role in the environmental awareness in the urban surroundings. This tour will be topped off by a stop at Bass Pro Shops and a Bat Flight at Sequiota Park. Lunch is provided, but shopping and dinner is on your own. - Leave 8:30 a.m. – return approximately 9:30 p.m. - Minimum of 10; Maximum of 20.- No Cost 2. FLOATING THE WHITE RIVER ON LAKE TANEYCOMO Kick off your Ozarks experience with an afternoon canoeing or kayaking on Lake Taneycomo from Shepherd of the Hill Fish Hatchery to Cooper Creek Access. This is a 3-hour float so be sure to dress to get wet and bring water, sunscreen, snacks and other supplies if needed. - Leave 12:30 p.m. – return 5:00 p.m.- Limit 15 people maximum- No cost 3. TOUR SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS FARMSTEAD Harold Wright put Branson on the tourist destination map with his book The Shepherd of the Hills published in 1907. Historic Homestead to learn more about the characters and the history behind one of America’s best loved stories! - Leave 12:00 p.m. – return 5:00 p.m.- Minimum of 15 people for group rate-Cost $15

4. FISHING LAKE TANEYCOMO Lake Taneycomo is one of the best large Brown Trout fishing destinations in Missouri, but there is also a number of good size Rainbow Trout to catch as well. This trip will give you a “Fish Story” that you can talk about. -Meet at Shepherd of Hills Fish Hatchery Conservation Center at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.-No minimum or maximum-Each person responsible for their own costs

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor DramaThis drama is based on actual people and events during the end of the 1800’s, which The Shepherd of the Hills was written about. The story vividly portrays and tells a dramatic story featuring adventure, romance, forgiveness, triumph, faith, and moral message that is as true today as it was 100 years ago.-Leave 6:30 p.m.-Minimum 15-Cost $25

1. CHASE STUDIOS Take a tour of the Chase Studios campus located in 11 buildings set on 1500 acres of oak and hickory covered hills on Bull Shoals Lake. Chase Studio is a world re-nowned exhibit design and production studio with a reputa-tion for scientific accuracy and attention to detail. Chase Studio is possibly the only firm involved exclusively with the natural sciences that can offer its clients the entire gamut of museum exhibit work from master planning through installation.-Leave 8:30 a.m. – return by 5:00 p.m.- No minimum or maximum

2. OZARK UNDERGROUND LAB – TUMBLING CREEK CAVE This field trip begins with a surface tour that explains the relationships between the surface and the cave. The underground tour is on a walking trail through the most diverse cave ecosystem west of the Mississippi River. Please bring rough clothes, comfortable boots or closed-toe shoes with tread, a flashlight with new batteries, insect repellent, a raincoat, snacks and a water bottle. - Leave 8:00 a.m. – return at 5:00 p.m. - Minimum of 10; Maximum of 20 participants.

3. HENNING CONSERVATION AREA The Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area includes 1,534-acres of steep hills covered with upland oak/hickory forest interspersed with a series of scenic glades, which

make up the White River Balds Natural Area. The glades or “balds” played an important role in the history and folklore of the region; many were immortalized

in “Shepherd of the Hills”. Post-Civil war vigilante groups often met on the balds and became known as “baldknobbers.” The morning portion of this field trip will include exploring the trails through the area and you might even run into a real life Baldknobber. After lunch participants may stay to assist with some glade restoration projects. - Full day option: Leave 9:00 a.m. return by 5:00 p.m. (Lunch provided for full day option)- Half day option - morning: Leave 9:00 a.m. return by noon. (No Lunch Provided for morning option) - Half day option - afternoon: Leave noon return by 5:00 p.m. (Lunch provided for afternoon option)- No minimum or maximum 4. COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS College of the Ozarks is a unique institution which charges its students no tuition. Every full-time student works at a campus job to help defray his or her expenses. Take a student guided tour of the Williams Memorial Chapel, Greenhouses, Mill, and the Fruitcake and Jelly Kitchen. You will be on your one for lunch at the Keeter Center where students prepare and serve food made from ingredients produced on campus. In the afternoon, enjoy the campus or visit the Ralph Foster Museum, Gaetz Tractor Museum, or W. Alton Jones Dairy on your own. - Leave by 9:15 a.m. -- Return by 4 p.m.- Minimum is 15

5. TABLE ROCK LAKE Table Rock Lake is known for pristine waters and great fishing; you will learn more about the lake with a stop at the new Dewey Short Visitor Center. Then go inside

Table Rock Dam as you learn about its construction and the production of hydroelectricity. Then off to Table Rock State Park and Table Rock

State Park Marina and a sail on the Spirit of America. Our final stop will be a tour of Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery. To tour Table Rock Dam you must be a US citizen and present a photo ID. The dam tour may not be suitable for those unable to go up/down 160 stairs or those who are claustrophobic.- Leave 8:30 a.m. – return by 5:00 p.m.- 10-28 participants for the tour of the dam

6. STANDUP PADDLEBOARDING Come prepared to meet the challenge or get wet, learning this neat way for on-the-water nature interpretation, outdoor education – recreation, health & fitness. Each person should come prepared to get wet and bring insect repellent, sunscreen, snacks and a water bottle. - Leave 12:15 – return 4 p.m. - Minimum of 5; Maximum of 12.

7. ROSE O’NEILL’S BONNIEBROOKBonniebrook was the home in which Rose O’Neill, artist and creator of the Kewpie Doll, believed she did her best work. The current Bonniebrook House is a recreation of the O’Neill’s 14 room Ozarks mansion which burned in 1947. The Rose O’Neill Art Collection is housed on-site and contains nearly sixty original works of art, the Kewpie museum houses antique Kewpie ephemera of O’Neill’s era. The grounds are also breathtaking with the creek, and the doorbell bridge to the O’Neill family cemetery. This field trip will leave the hotel lobby at 9:15 a.m. and return around 12:00 p.m.- Leave 9:15 a.m. – return 12:00 p.m. - Minimum 10
