Namibia is on the west coast of southern Africa.

The Namib Desert is along the western edge.

The desert is very hot in the summer (January through March), over 100 degrees during the day.

Nights in the desert are cool. On the high plateau, nights could be freezing!

ASSEMBLIES OF GOD FACTS: 6 U.S. Assemblies of God missionaries work in Namibia. About 658 people worship in 16 churches. The Bible school is currently training 3 students to be church leaders.

RELIGIONS: Christian (80-90%, at least half of which belong to the Lutheran church), traditional beliefs (10-20%). Many believe in and worship various spirits. Some mix these beliefs with Christian beliefs.
