    February 26, 2013To all Senior Olympians and other active seniors,

    Its time for the games to begin! Entry forms for the Torrance County 50+ Gamesto be held in Mountainair and Estancia March 9 April 20 are now available at your senior

    center. We encourage all Torrance County residents who will reach the age of 50 byDecember 31, 2013 to enter this local competition. First, second, and third place localwinners in all events will be eligible to compete in the New Mexico State Senior OlympicGames in Roswell, June 12 - 16. If youre not interested in competing at the state level,

    thats fine, join us anyway for the games of your choice at the local level.

    The entry fee is only $5.00 per person for one sport, $8.00 for two sports, or$10.00 for three or more sports. The more sports you try, the more you save! At thelocal level you may participate in as many sports and as many events as you wish. Just be

    sure to indicate on the registration form all the events in which you wish to compete.Should you choose to go to the State Games in Roswell, you will be limited to ten events,excluding some that are called fun events.

    Please complete both sides of your entry form and return it with your entry fee assoon as possible to Jerry Melaragno, P.O. Box 496, Mountainair, NM 87036. Entryfees may be paid in cash or checks (payable to Torrance County Senior Olympics).Questions about rules, forms, procedures, etc. should be addressed to the localcoordinator, Jerry Melaragno at 847-0402, or our Advisory Board Chair, Laura Kayser at

    847-1856. DEADLINE FOR LOCAL ENTRIES IS MARCH 8. On-site (walk-in) registrationswill be accepted at a cost of $5 for each sport.

    I know we have not reached all those who might be interested in the SeniorOlympic program. Please help us spread the word by encouraging your friends and

    acquaintances that you think might enjoy the activity and camaraderie of Senior Olympicparticipation to join our fun and games. Entry forms are now available at our senior

    centers in Estancia, Moriarty, or Mountainair. You can find additional information on theNew Mexico Senior Olympics website www.nmseniorolympics.org or give me a call.
