The Lady Crusaders basketball team have been on the basketball courts with coaches Tammy Emerson and Travis Tudor. The team members are Hannah Adams, Anjelica Chun, Bailey Moss, Erin Emerson, Samantha Barthelemy, Madisyn Nevad, and Jorden Kin-ney. They had a rough start with their first game against Berean, but they have now been learning ball handling, shooting, and defensive skills. They are coming along together as a team and are having a great time! Good luck on the rest of your season, Lady Crusaders!

The boys’ basketball team members are Lowson Merilien, Nick Accardi, DJ Bochel, Logan Othmer, Tyler Muschett, and Chris Paisley. They are doing very well this year with their small but mighty team. They’re improving with every practice and are hoping to do well this season. Thanks to their coaches Rick Accardi and Doug Avdellas for helping the team! Go Crusaders!

Here are simple ways to keep Christ the central focus of your life this

Christmas season.

1) Give God one very special gift just from you to Him. Let this gift be something personal that no one else needs to know about, and let it be a sacrifice.

2) Set aside a special time to read the Christmas story in Luke 1:5-56 through 2:1-20. Read this account with your family and discussing it.

3) Set up a Nativity scene in your home. If you don't have a Nativity, find some ideas on-line for making a simple one together as a family.

4) Plan a project of good will this Christmas. Find someone with a genuine need, involve your whole family and see how happy you can make someone this Christmas.

5) Take a group Christmas caroling in a nursing

home or a children's hospital.

6) Give a surprise gift of service to each member of your family. Make it personal and meaningful and watch the blessings multiply.

7) Set aside time for family devotions on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. Before opening the gifts, take a few minutes to gather togeth-er as a family in prayer and devotions. Read a few Bible verses and discuss as a family the true meaning of Christmas.

8) Attend a Christmas church service together with your family. If you are alone this Christmas or don't have family living near you, invite a friend or a neighbor to join you.

9) Send Christmas cards that convey a spiritual

message.

10) Write a Christmas letter to a missionary. Many missionaries are unable to travel home for the holidays, so it can be a very lonely time for them. Write a special Christmas letter to a missionary of your choice, thanking him/her for giving their life in service to the Lord.

ELEMENTARY SOCCER WELCOMES A NEW COACH

Coach Jonathan says that the elementary soccer is doing well, and he is very proud of them. Before each game he and his team pray and strategize, and the people on the bench encourage the others. They have three wins and three loses so far this season.

The team members are Kevin Eutsey, Ramms Jean-Baptiste, Widler Jean-Francois, Kenley Jean-Pierre, Gray Langley, Lucas Stackman, Orion Bynes, Alex Charles, Durieal Denson, Kory Gehring, Gavan Keen, Josh MacNeal, NilClark Merilien, Ciara Nevad, Mateo Sangregorio, Kayla Thompson, James Merilien, Abigail Peree, and Kenny Ramos.

Coach Jonathan has played soccer his whole life and has coached for 10 years. He got into soccer when he was young, because his parents have their own soccer mission team. This means they share the Word of God through their talent of soc-cer. He has played all around the world from South America to Europe to all over North America.

ROTARY GIVES DICTIONARIES TO THIRD GRADERS

Mrs. Nossal's third grade class was presented with personal dictionaries as part of the Rotary Club Literacy Initiative in October. The class enjoyed learning how to use the dictionaries to look up words and for research. The class read together about President Obama. Our guests were happy to see such excellent readers.

It is the eighth year for LPBS to be included in this worthwhile project. Thank you,Friends of Rotary!

A special thanks to Bob Rosenberg, Lennie Cottrell, and Dr. R. Carr of Singer Island Rotary.

On Veterans’ Day, November 11, our school presented a special

program to honor those who have served or are serving in the

military. We thank all of those who fought for our freedom.
