    Boy Scouts to give people a chance tocross off items from bucket lists

    Dozens of Boy Scouts supporters will again accept the challenge to rappel fromthe top of the 305 foot-tall Ecolab Corporate Center in downtown St. Paul

    WHAT

    Dozens of rappellers will descend more than 300 feet from the top of the tower to EcolabPlaza.

    WHENTHURSDAY September 12 4pm 7pm

    Preview event rappelling featuring:University of Minnesota Athletic Director Norwood TeagueSaint Paul Mayor Chris ColemanMembers of the Minnesota National GuardClarence Anthony, National League of Cities Exec. DirectorJoe Nayquonabe Comissioner, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe

    FRIDAY September 13 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.People rappel throughout the day

    The media will have access to the roof for different shots but will needto sign a waiver. GoPro cameras can also be used by working withrapellers to secure individual approvals.

    WHOSupporters who raised at least $1,000 in pledges will experience this once-in-lifetime thrill.

    ABOUT THE RAPPELLERS

    Team Bradshaw

    Last year Jim Bradshaw, a Northern Star Council board member, spent weeks trainingto be ready to take the challenge.

    This year he is taking the challenge again but is also bringing with him 3 generationsof his family and the two therapists who helped him train. They both are afraid ofheights.

    Libby Jensen and Mike Ripley They are physical therapists from OSI Physical Therapy and both work with Jim and

    his wife. They inspired Jim and his wife to live a more active life. He has inspired them to

    conquer their fear of heights.

    Brea Bradshaw Jims daughter-in-law. She is a mother of three and is a nurse in the ER at Lakeview

    Hospital. She also periodically takes a shift at Gillette Specialty Care Hospital

    Other rappellers taking the challenge

    A two-time cancer survivor who loves scouting and likes to live life to the fullest.

    An Ecolab employee who had this on her bucket list

    A doctor who had a patient take the challenge last year. The doctor is afraid of heightsbut is taking the challenge to support his patient, as well as scouting.

    Someone who is celebrating her 30th birthday by taking the challenge.

    About Double Dog Dare

    Northern Star Council, Boy Scouts of America, is organizing the Double Dog Dare, an Off-the-Wall Challenge. On Sept. 12th and 13th, brave souls who accept the dare, raise themoney, will rappel down the side of Ecolab Corporate Center, one of St. Pauls ta llestbuildings.

    This is the second time scouts are giving people a chance to accept the challenge to climbmore than 300 feet down the side of the office tower. The event will benefit Northern Star

    Council, Boy Scouts of America, and raise awareness of Scouting programs while givingparticipants the thrill of a lifetime.

    Participants who raise at least $1,000 in pledges get to take part in the event.
