Our Members contribute to San Antonio’s legacy

Through The Chamber, our members...

Established a Fiesta Association in 1911 which led

to present-day FIESTA.

Secured 8,000 acres of land in 1917 that became

Kelly AFB, now PORT SAN ANTONIO.

Established the Farm and Ranch Committee, which

developed the Freeman Coliseum in 1944 and led

to the SAN ANTONIO LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO.

Brought the 1968 HEMISFAIR to San Antonio , lead-

ing to the development of the RIVER WALK.

Obtained necessary funding for Brooke Army Medical

Center in 1988, which paved the way for the

SAN ANTONIO MILITARY HEALTH SYSTEM, the medical

training center for all branches of the U.S. military.

Signature Chamber Events connect San Antonio businesses

Annual Events

SA TO DC Representatives from the city, county and leading industries go to Washington, DC with a unified voice to urge members of Congress, the administration and military leaders in the Pentagon to address specific legislative needs and concerns of the South Central Texas region.

STATE OF THE CITY The mayor of San Antonio highlights the city’s recent achievements and presents current and future priorities.

TRIBUTE TO WOMEN BUSINESS LEADERS AWARDSThis celebration honors women who embody leadership qualities which have driven not only their personal success but also the success of those around them.

STARS & STRIPES OVER SAN ANTONIOWith an estimated attendance of 275,000, this July 4 celebration in downtown SA boasts the largest and longest fireworks spectacular in the city’s history. It features food trucks, cold beverages, a kids area, and a climactic 20-minute fireworks show.

CHAMBER CHALLENGE Business leaders foster relationships and build new prospects at this annual golf tournament that includes breakfast, lunch, contests and a drawing for prizes.

STATE OF THE COUNTY The Bexar County Judge addresses the citizens in our region on recent accomplishments and upcoming projects.

CELEBRATE AMERICA’S MILITARY (CAM) A series of community events in November that honors military service men and women and their families. CAM is the longest-running and largest celebration of its kind in the country.

CONGRESSIONAL SERIES During even-numbered years, the luncheon series features Texas’ two U.S. Senators; and in odd-numbered years, the series features each of the state’s U.S. Representatives in Congress.

ANNUAL GALA An evening to honor the outgoing Chairman of the Board and his/her leadership team and introduce the incoming Chairman of the Board and leadership. Cocktail reception followed by dinner, entertainment and a silent auction.

Membership EventsGREATER CONNECTIONS MIXER Meet new business clients, reconnect with friends and enjoy beverages and hors d’oeuvres provided by a different Chamber member host each month.

LEADS EXPLOSION Make solid business contacts in a networking-focused environment. Participants take turns presenting their company in small groups of seven; when the gong sounds, they switch groups. This event is for Members only.
