Resonance is what happens when objects vibrate with a common frequency. For the body of Christ, that frequency is Jesus. As the church gathers corporately to worship our King, we are united in a powerful way. As practitioners of music and the arts, we have the privilege of creating an environment for the church to recognize the presence of Jesus in our midst. Join us this April as we worship Jesus, practice our craft and learn how to create a culture of worship in the context where we serve.

Since its stunning 2006 break-through debut album Sound of Melodies, progressive worship band LEELAND has become one of the most important voices in a new generation of worship music. Known for its passion-filled live experience, the band’s fourth album The Great Awakening stirs a fresh desire for personal and worldwide worship revival.
Nominated for three GRAMMY Awards—one for each of its previously released albums—this time around, lead singer Leeland Mooring and brother Jack Mooring are joined by 18-year-old new member (and younger sister) Shelly, along with drummer Mike Smith, to bring 11 new modern songs inspired by historical “fathers of the faith”—men like theologian Jonathan Edwards and Salvation Army founder William Booth. 5

At the age of 18, Jesus saved Joel at Mars Hill Church, then a congregation of only 100 people. By God’s grace, it has since grown to over 13,000 souls—spread across 14 churches and 4 states.
With a background as a touring musician and local music producer, Joel first came on full time staff at Mars Hill in 2000, helping run all ages concerts at their music venue, The Paradox. As the director of band development from 2006–2009, he led the charge of recruiting and building over 25 bands including two of his own, Red Letter and Kenosis. After serving for 3 years as the Worship Pastor at the flagship Mars Hill location in Ballard, WA, he recently followed God’s call to urban ministry and joined the Downtown location. Joel lives in Seattle with his wife, Emily, and their three children.6
