RIS Subcommittee Chair: Dennis Britson (Iowa) To: Participating SBS States This document reflects the 2012 enhancement requests that were reviewed and discussed by the RIS subcommittee October 2011 through June 2012. Please review the enhancement’s description, development specifications for accuracy and clarity and the SBS Development estimates. Enhancements request and prioritization schedule: Deadline Description June 30 Enhancement Tool Cut-Off July - Aug Draft SRD - Developer Estimates - Revise SRD with estimates Sept Subcommittee review and prioritize requests - Subcommittee Sign Off Oct Final SRD sent to PSC for review and prioritization Nov SBS Development Team Schedules Enhancements for 2013 Production Builds Dec PSC reviews add approves 2013 Production Build Schedule I will be sending the SRD back out for a final review as soon as I have received final SBS Development estimates of effort related to any revisions made as a result of your review. The prioritization of the RIS enhancement request is to be completed and signed off by all participating states no later than September 30, 2012. Please note that the PSC will make the final determination, based on available SBS implementation resources and in consideration of all SBS Service enhancement under review and in the pipeline, as to whether a specific enhancement request will or will not be included for development in 2013. Define and prioritize requirements related to SBS RIS enhancements and new functionality requirements specific to the requests that were submitted between 10/30/2011 through 06/30/2012.
Business Process
SBS RIS is a web-based service that provides State Departments of Insurance the ability to regulate non-insurance-based businesses.

User Responsibilities State representative required for User Acceptance Testing and sign-off. Sign-off from all states will be required prior to an enhancements production deployment.

Elaboration: Would like to have the ability to update and delete a contract record, and to add pdf files directly to the contract area of SBS RIS. Action: SBS must provide the ability to delete a contract record, and to name, browse and upload a file attachment to a contract record. The attached file must be accessible via the Contracts section of the RIS Company Summary page. The option to delete a contract record must only be available to users with the appropriate role (RIS_DELETE). NOTE: the contract record can already be updated by clicking any of the record hyperlinks. Functionality Impacted:

Elaboration: Please add a data cell to capture effective dates related to name changes. Also, be sure that name changes are tracked in history. Action: SBS must provide the ability to capture, store and display the Effective Date of an RIS Company name change. A record of the name change must be written to history and viewable on the Company Name and Address History Report and the Comprehensive History Report. Both reports must display the most current name first. Functionality Impacted:

Elaboration: In the RIS Company Summary, under the Branch Offices data block, the City, State and Zip Code should be part of/included in the Branch Address Line (1) and viewable on the Summary screen. This information should be part of the default data and viewable WITHOUT HAVING TO open the Amend option and then having to click on the applicable Branch Office Name just to learn which town the location is in. Many of the RIS PFP business entities have branch offices/additional locations in multiple cities and small towns around the state of Iowa. Action: SBS must provide the ability to display the branch office’s business* address line 1, city, state code and zip code. *Mailing address line 1 is currently displayed on the RIS Company Summary Functionality Impacted:
