First the player thinks of a Person, Place or Thing, and lets everyone know what they have chosen. The other players take turns asking up to 20 questions, as long as it can be answered with a yes or no. Whoever guesses what the "it" player was thinking becomes the next person to become ' it" and think of something. If no one can guess it in 20 questions, the first player wins and can take another turn.

All sports have an ideal. A tennis game won with all aces. Eighteen holes of golf ending with 18 holes-in-one. A basketball player with a 100 percent shooting percentage. All of these would be incredible levels to achieve. Very likely they will remain ideals. How about 27 strikeouts in a baseball game? That too is a lofty ideal. A pitcher named Tom Cheney fanned 21 in a game in 1962. Kerry Wood and Randy Johnson each sent 20 batters back to sit in their

dugouts. Several others rang up 19 K’s in a game. But there was one fellow who struck out everybody. In 1952, in the Appalachian League, Ron Necciai (net-shy), led his Bristol (Va.) Twins to a win over the Welch Miners by striking out 27 Miners, a feat never achieved before or after in the annals of baseball. There were those who may have called it a fluke. There have been many athletes who have had a singular great game, never to approach that level again. Not so with Necciai. “Rocket” Ron had in the two starts previous to his record-breaking evening, struck out 20 and 19 batters. In the start after his 27-strikeout game, he fanned 24 while pitching a two-hitter. In that game he set a record five strikeouts in one inning. In four starts and two relief appearances in the Appalachian League (before moving up to a higher league) Ron struck out 109 batters in 42 innings, gave up only 10 hits, had a 4-0 record with a .420 ERA! In one relief appearance he rang up K’s on 11 consecutive batters, still a minor league record. But with all of his natural talent, fame was not to come to the 19-year-old Ron Necciai. He had suffered from bleeding ulcers his whole life, but in spite of this he was drafted in January, 1953. His condition did not improve in the military. Following his discharge he tried to return to baseball in April, reporting to the Pittsburg Pirates. He had missed spring training, but tried desperately to catch up and get back his pitching form.Unfortunately, he tried too hard and tore his rotator cuff. In 1953 there was no remedy for the problem. So, at 20 years of age his baseball career was over. Rocket Ron later married his childhood sweetheart, raised three children and got into the sporting goods business. He retired in 1997 and moved to Florida.
