This is our last newsletter for 2012. I would like to wish all our families and the Toukley community a very Happy Festive Season. I look forward to seeing everyone again in 2013. To those who will not be returning to Toukley Public School in 2013, I wish you the very best of luck at your new school. To all parents, staff and students, thank you for your support during 2012, we are looking forward to 2013, which is going to be an exciting year. Narelle Armour—Principal
2/3P have had an excellent year and continue to work hard as we come to the end of a very busy Term 4. This term 2/3P went on two excursions. Year 2 had a great time visiting the Australian Museum and had some interesting information to report back to the class. Year 3 visited Blackbutt Reserve in Newcastle and wrote some fantastic recounts of their animal encounters and creepy crawly experiences. We have also participated in making some yummy food treats and worked on interesting Science experiments as part of our procedure writing. As part of our “The Australian Journey” unit, students have created models and dioramas of Australian landforms. The students had some fantastic ideas to create their models and used lots of different creative techniques to construct their landforms. They have done an excellent job. 2/3P were very excited about the recent dress up day which had the theme “All I want for Christmas”. There were lots of great costumes and lots of hard work and thought put into them. Well done! On behalf of all the students in 2/3P we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. Megan Hakopa—Class Teacher
