The 32nd Nautical Fair was offi cially opened by Branislav Gvozdenovic, Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism of the Republic of Montenegro.

“I’m pleased that we can talk on the topic of nautical and yachting tourism that constantly promotes Montenegro in a quality manner and thus makes Montenegro one of the most recognisable tourist destinations in the world. Montenegro was proclaimed one of the fastest growing tourist destinations over the next 10 years. To justify such a prediction we must first show that we are working to extend the tourist season, and one project is certainly this boat show, which should encourage us that in both pre-season and post-season to organise events, and make every effort to invite partners. Nautical tourism is something that is very important for tourism and Montenegro, due primarily to the area of

Porto Montenegro, which has made the transformation from a closed to an open space, an increase of 26% in nautical and yachting tourism. Because of this additional promotion of Montenegro and positioning as a place recommended by global media to be visited, we are proud and we congratulate all those who have worked in marketing the promotion offer of Montenegro and allow it to be so well positioned on the world tourist maps.”

As a special guest at the opening and a passionate lover of sailing, German Ambassador in Montenegro, HE Pius Fischer spoke. Ambassador Pius Fischer, among others, said that the marina Porto Montenegro as an investment is the most successful and most important of all investments in Montenegro, and said that Porto Montenegro with its nautical village and numerous shopping units have set a standard model, showing how

projects in Montenegro should be performed. The Director of Marina Porto Montenegro, Tony Brown, stressed that Porto Montenegro is not only dedicated to the luxury nautical industry, but is committed to it and, in co-operation with relevant institutions, to extend the season and position Montenegro on the world map for the whole year. “A Boat show is the best form of nautical tourism; an opportunity to really see the various events and off ers from diff erent companies.” Evening events were organised by the Adriatic Fair, including cocktails and entertainment. The fair was complete, dynamic and interesting.
