Operational Mitigation Measures

Near-Term:

1. Favouring 35’s

Landings from south; Departures to north

2. Reduce turns before 1,000 ft.

3. 100

(vs. 150) divergence

Parallel Runway Aircraft Operations

10 Degree Divergence

Assessment of Net Benefit

Objectives:

• Maximize flights over commercial areas

• Maximize altitude of aircraft flying over

residential areas

Effective: April 30, 2015

Parallel Runway Aircraft Operations

Operational Mitigation Measures

Mid-Term:

1. RNAV SID

RNAV – IFR navigation method that allows more

precise flight paths

SID – Standard Instrument Departures defines a

more precise departure flight path

Parallel Runway Aircraft Operations

RNAV SID

Advantages:

• Reduced splay

• Defined turn location

• Defined climb gradient

Steps Required:

• Discussion at technical committee

• Impact analysis

• Consultation

• Create design
