This year was another great summer conference with 105 attendees and many items donated for the raffle and silent auction.
Our first speaker this year was Mark Breederland from the Michigan Sea Grant Extension, Northwest Michigan Grand Traverse MSU Extension. Mr. Breederland spoke about the water levels of the great lakes. He also told us what causes the levels to fluctuate from year to year.

Paul Mason spoke about the Lighthouse Tender Service. Mr. Mason told about how the service delivered building supplies to build and maintain the lighthouse service.
We want to thank our guest speakers for taking the time to come and speak. We also want to thank Cameron Lovett and Rick Brockway for scheduling the guest speakers.
Crisp Point Light Historical Society is currently looking for qualified people who are experienced and successful at grant writing. One potential project would be mortar and brick repair on our lighthouse tower. We know of at least two grants that we are eligible to receive. If you are interested, please contact Cameron Lovett at [email protected].

This past spring we did not have the family camping and work weekend. Why? Well with all the snow this past winter, the spring rains washed out a culvert across County Road 412. With the road closed, there was no easy way to get there. A big thank you to Ben Musielak, Elaine & Larry Watson, and John & Cindy Briggs for taking the merchandise from Paradise to the visitor center on the off road trails.

FIXING THE LANTERN HOUSE

Crisp Point Rocks! The shore west of the tower has been eroded away by the higher lake levels and strong storms. The bricks on the tower have been there for 110 years and are deteriorating rapidly. In order to raise the funds to place large rock along the shore and repair, seal and paint the tower, we are asking for your help. Those who contribute at least $75 to this fundraiser will receive a limited edition T-shirt. (photo below left) Donors of $150 or more will receive a limited edition sweatshirt. (photo below right) Anyone who gives $300 or more will receive a custom jacket in their choice of color. (below center) These items will only be available to donors for this project, they will not be sold at any time. Please fill out the form completely and mail with your check, or visit our website: http://crisppointlighthouse.org and donate using PayPal.
