We have started to use PROtect tapes on board of TP52 Quantum Racing since day one to reduce wear on

composite standing rigging and spreader ps with excellent results. Having seen the benefits, we have applied

tapes in many other areas where fricon with ropes would have created wear and possible failure of our

equipment.The addional abuse during jibes of the asymmetrical gennaker created by the introducon of the bowsprit has

On Ran 4 we have started to use PROtect tapes from the beginning! Out of experience from other boats before.

There is no product like PROtect tapes, which is light, easy to apply and so resistant to chafe! We use it as specially on

PROtect CHAFEis a pressure sensive tape using UHMWPE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) film with

an aggressive acrylic adhesive.

The result is a very tough material, with the highest impact strength of any thermoplasc presently made.

It has extremely low coefficient of fricon, is self-lubricang and highly resistant to abrasion (15 mes more

resistant than carbon steel).

PROtect SHOCKis a further evoluon of the CHAFE products, combining UHMWPE film and alyphac

polyurethane resin film.

The alyphac polyurethane resin film is laminated between the CHAFE film and a modified acrylic adhesive and

finally protected by a siliconised paper to make easy die cut, handling and applicaon.

The product is made on demand and tailor made in the width and length required.Any CHAFE film can be used, ideally the thicker ones to make it resistant to abrasion and shock from blocks, press

locks, snap and halyards shackles.

PROtectMASKare tapes combining film of highly tensilized skived modified PTFE (a synthec fluoropolymer) with

a high temperature silicon adhesive.

Our films have the highest tensile strength per unit, toughness and high temperature resistance of any PTFE

product. The low fricon coefficient together with the resistance to abrasion offers an efficient soluon to many

wearing and tearing issues.

The extremely low coefficient of fricon of this film is only second to DLC (diamond like carbon).

The low grammage adhesive is strong enough to guarantee a good adhesion and at the same me the low tack do

not damage the surfaces protected; addionally no stain or adhesive residual once removed.This is a great product to protect the boat whether in construcon, delivery, boat maintenance or racing.

It can be used in combinaon with thin CHAFE to create a protecve slippery surface on the companion way,

dinee or cabins in case sails are stored inside the boat in a cruising yacht temporarely converted in racing mode.

PROtect LOOPXcombines pressure sensive tapes with embedded high strength fibers both made of

UHMWPE.

The thin and strong adhesive has two funcons: to hold the longitudinal fiber in the desired posion and to

guarantee the adhesion between the layers when the loop is manually made.

The fibers are extremely light and this leads to an extremely high strength on weight basis, making it the

strongest man made tape. With LOOPXhigh load or small loops no longer require skills and experse, complex

sequence of operaons, complicated steps and tools.

It is very praccal, translucent, extremely light and strong.

Anybody can make his own loop in the length required, even very small and in just few minutes.

The first part of the tape is without adhesive to easily make the first turn and then the adhesive, inially

protected by the liner, guarantees the adhesion of the first and the following turns.

contact abrasion of rotang spinnaker/guy or because of gennaker sheets during internal gybe.

The standard product is suitable for small boat up to 40 and available in two colors: PHT (translucent) or PHB

(black) whereas PHP (high performances), available in light grey, is strongly recommended for larger yachts orwhenever a superior resistance is required.

The differences between the two versions are the polymer, the temperature resistance and the type of the

adhesive. All products are very easy to use and apply because already cut to the standard sizes of your headfoil

systems and custom sizes are available on demand as well.

Wing are different, we did realize that three years ago and a sound program was put together to create a

complete range of products for this configuraon of sails, represenng the future of racing and sailing.

The film for the wing is available in different gauges, all very strong, tough, clear, biaxially oriented, heat

shrinkable polyolefin based film.

Our soluons have high shrink force for superior bundling capability, superior tear, impact and abrasion

resistance, high gloss, clarity, excellent printability and UV stability.

All films are full fully compable with the assembling tapes.

The link between the film and the carbon fibre wing frame is guaranteed by special double sided adhesive with

polyester carrier and asymetrical acrylic adhesive on both sides.

The result is an extremely light tape with high shear strength, UV stability and easy to apply.

A perfect wingsail required an addional thin layer to cover and protect the edges of the film and give the final

PROtectROPEis a smart and clever idea to idenfy your ropes, halyards, running rigging and sheets.

Its a heat shrink polyolefine tube with shrink rao 2:1, available in different diameters to cover all possible needs.

Simply insert the tube at the end of rope you want to idenfy forever, gently heat the tube using a suitable heat

gun or hair dryer and the tube will wrap up it.

You can write on it some relevant rope informaon for you (use, manufacturer, configuraon, sailing hours, ect)

with a permanent marker pen and log it using the unique serial number.

Opmist Kit (PMK066) developed by mul World Champion coach Fernando Alegre Happy and contains 29

pieces covering mast, sprit, boom, daggerboard case and rigging.

Moth Kit (PMK001) has been designed and opmized by Simon Payne and contains a large selecon CHAFE and

MASK tapes for the bowsprit, centreboard, mast, spreaders, turnbuckles, cambers, outhaul and all uneven

surfaces.

Nathan Ouridge and Iain Jensen have created and signed our 49er Kit (PMK049) and contains 24 die cut items

ready to be used on pole launcher, inside the kite throat, vang, rudder stock, jib luff just to menon a few.

Laser Kit (PML003) contains a selecon of CHAFE tapes for snug fit of top and boom mast secons (PML004),

deck abrasion from the ller, outhaul and centre board (PML007), two stripes for the mast step and mast collar

(PML002) and UHMWPE disk for the mast step (PML001). Each item is sold separately as well.

CHAFE is the material used for patches ready to be applied on the boat.

The entry level kit is PMK002 with six die cut patches the biggest in A6 size, followed by five kits with different

gauges with sizes from A5 to A4.
